Contrasts in reviews are fascinating. Everywhere we went in the hotel was immaculately clean. (They were always mopping the beautiful lobby floor!) AC is a problem. Our room was too cold-maintenance came twice. We finally learned to control it by cutting it off and on. Bed was very comfortable. Linens and toiletries were great. But no coat hangers and no place to hang clothes. The room was very small. Bathroom tile, huge wraparound mirror were lovely, fixtures new, but like a home bathroom. There was no mirror in the bedroom. Ice, beach towels and chairs available at desk. No ice machine. Parking is a problem. ($30 per day hotel valet parking.) The parking lot at 4th and Collins is only $10 a day. BUT-after parking there 2 days and feeling the attendant knew us, the 3rd day no one was there to pay when we left or when we returned. The next a.m. our car had been towed! The tow folks were incredibly rude, demanded cash, had an ATM that gave no receipt. Sunset Parking is a real ripoff! But-I recommend The Wave, if you aren't picky.

all in all, the hotel was ok, would i stay there again "no".. i went 4th of july weekend, the lobby was dark, more like a night club seen. (not my thing) which is ok for anyone who wants to go party.. the walls were really thin b/c i could hear at 3am when people arrived from partying what they were talking about.. i woke up to some young lady crying out side my window at 4am (not good), no lie when people would talk you would think they're in your room.. the place was clean, good customer service and free breakfest.. but no pool.. all in all it was ok..

Atmosphere was awesome, very cozy and modern. Nothing. We stayed here the night before our cruise. It worked out very well. Cute, cozy hotel. Free Internet in lobby was nice. Continental breakfast was nice. Had a great time. Only downfall was that it was noisy outside at night and we were awakened in the middle of the night by loud people and cars.

Me and my friend stayed at the Wave hotel for three nights.First off,I've looked and read over 40+Hotel reviews.we based the hotel on Price/Location/Cleanliness/etc. Pros: 1-LOCATION(off 4th Ocean Dr.,cross the street your at the beach!)EVERYTHING is at walking distance...Wet Willies off 7th,restaurants all lined up on Ocean dr.stores here there..I highly recommend the pizza joints there off Washington!!! 2-Cleanliness wasn't bad-our sheets and towels were replaced everyday 3-Rooms-ours were nice and comfy, low sitting King bed,2xhigh chair tables, with an artistic flair! 4-Staff friendly(watched our bags after check out, called us cabs) Cons: 1-Parking:$30 everyday to valet there(we parked 3 blocks off 7th in the parking deck for $20 a Day) 2-Construction is everywhere!!im talking they were building a new hotel right outside of our room Overall I would recommend the Wave Hotel off 4th on Ocean Dr.

We've stayed at the Wave several times over the past three years. It's a redone Art Deco hotel which means it's space-limited, boutique-ish and updated. The theme is eclectic modern and the lobby and rooms ""fit"". It's NOT the chain hotel some reviewers apparently expect. It IS comfortable, clean, convenient and cool, however.

I was down their for the BFF. The rooms are very small and they would clean my after 3:30pm. You have to ask for soap. I did like the location.

Away from main crowds and quiet. Very good continental breakfast. Excellent service. The view to outside. The hotel met our expectations and was just right for our needs. Clean. The continental breakfast was much better than most! Nice bar, too.

The front desk was friendly. The room was by no means spectacular but it sufficed as a place to sleep. Construction across the street made it hard to sleep in passed 8 o'clock. It is on the end of the strip which puts you almost close to the action at an affordable price for those on a tight budget.

Hotel lobby is lovely & staff very helpful. Beds large, but leave little walking space in small rooms. AC didn't work in our 1st room so we had to be moved. Noisy. Construction right across the street & partiers in the next room. The walls & doors are PAPER thin. Don't expect to get much sleep if you go during party season. If you ARE the partiers & weren't planning on much sleep anyway this is your spot. On the edge of the main strip & right on the beach. All in all we had a GREAT time. We didn't go to Miami to spend it indoors.

I was a bit skeptical at first because of the previous reviews about the wave hotel. When i arrived the staff was friendly. The room was to my large, clean. It's located in a perfect spot, a few blocks away from the hot spots, and right across the street from the beach. I loved my stay at the wave hotel, and would recommend it to anyone out there. Its worth the money.

Perfect location andparking wasavailable. Staff was a little clueless, but nice. The Wave was exactly what I expected. Small, kind of stylish, on Ocean Dr, location couldn't be better. Rooms were ok, nothing great, but who spends any time in a hotel on South Beach? Excellent value would absolutely recommend.

Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. My first night, the ceiling fell onto my bed. My friends found bed bugs in their beds and we were moved over 5 times. The halls smell like old dirt and mold. It was not a pleasant experience to say the least. Go elsewhere!

when I arrived at the wave, nothing surprised me from the pictures that I saw. It was in a perfect location within the vicinity of everything that you need to do on south beach. my room was very clean especially the bathroom. the help desk was very helpful. we know its not a five star hotel but you get your money's worth. its not for a romantic getaway. if you went to south beach to party and hang out with your friends then the wave hotel is definetely for you. especially the outside patio area, we met so many nice people just by sitting outside.

I had never been to SoBe..so i was really excited. the wave hotel had a great location. its across the street from the beach and 2 blocks from where the hot spots begin. It was quiet enough to sleep, which was great when your getting back from a long night. But the room was so hot. I complained to the staff 3 times about the room temperature being 80(it was only 87 outside) the hallway was cooler than the room. ANd the beds were horrible(so hard) and the tub and floors were disgusting. And i hope u dont get sunburned easily cuz once u go back to the room to shower in this gross tube..u could barley dry yourself up with those sandpaper towels.if you are willing to sleep on a hard bed and shower in a dirty dirty dirty tub..then the wave is ok. the location is great..but its not for a long stay.

Close to the beach, good price, clean enough. Unsure--experiencing electrical problems? Nice lobby, clean room. Seems to need a little remodeling--bathroom had stains, a plug in an outlet was black, nightstand lamp and CD player were not plugged in--electrical problems? Loud fighting on the street in front of the hotel at night. Friendly staff. Parking is around $20/night. Close to the beach, continental breakfast, free internet access in lobby, free Wi-Fi. Checked out around 7am and could not wake up staff!

This Hotel is great. Room was clean and restroom was clean as well, not very big but provides what you need for a short stay. If you like to party, (and by the way that is what you should consider if you are going to south beach), this is a great spot near the beach, and plenty of clubs and hot spots on ocean drive, when you are finished you are just steps away form your little room to rest. Great lobby where by the way just sitting on any of the couches you could probably meet cool people to hang out with during your stay. No pool or parking lot but you go there to party and you could always tan at the beach!!!!! And also a little tip, you don't need to rent a car you will have nightmares trying to park it anywhere you go, just take a cab if you are going somewhere a little further. Staff is super friendly and willing to help you with all your needs, definitely going there next time I head down south.

All of the other posters are spot on. This place is abyssmal. The heat/ac doesn't work and when you call about it there is NEVER anyone who knows how to fix it. So prepare to be too hot to sleep. Satellite TV went down every hour. This place is pretty awful. It's a * a night hotel priced at *. no parking. Maybe all the hotels on this street are the same. I don't know. My experience in Miami Beach was pretty bad. The exercise room is laughable.

The location of the hotel is nice because it is close to everything but far enough away to be very quiet.
