When you read that the hotel room is only large enough for 2 people....believe it!!! But the hotel is so wonderful, that it doesn't matter that the rooms are small. Who spends a lot of time in their hotel room on vacation anyway??? The location is perfect for those going to see broadway plays. The bathrooms are large & very nicely remodeled. The linens are luxurious. The rooms are spotless!!! The cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in. The size of the rooms makes for a few fun little jokes. The staff is very friendly & helpful (especially the bellhops). I would definitely stay there again.

Tiny room, tiny wardrobe, lack of adequate lighting, poorly designed bathroom (eg charging appliance sits under the soap dish; towel rack on top of toilet), TV badly placed - had to lie down to watch it as it was almost ceiling level, no tea-making facilities, no restaurant, no bar, no breakfast facilities, excessively priced, noisy street, floor creaked (room 434) - would not recommend to anyone else. The only good thing was it had a safe.

A friend and I went to NYC for Broadway. The W/J was a great location. Just a few blocks from the 2 theaters we went to. Staff was GREAT. Just ask for a back room. The front rooms are on the streets and tend to get noisy, what , with garbage trucks and all.

The room was the smallest I have ever stayed in in NYC. Housekeeping and the staff were very friendly and is one thing that saved me from being completely disappointed. While we never saw the housekeeping staff, they did a great job of not disturbing our personal items we had arranged the room with. They also replaced our cups/glasses each day and placed the new ones right where we left the old ones on the nightstand, not in the bathroom where they were located when we checked in. The TV and Internet were awful. If the TV did work we got 3-5 channels of the 60+ available per the guide and it varied every few minutes what channels we could watch. The Free wireless internet was very slow. Our families in various parts of the country is on dial up through AOL and get a faster connection than we had at this place. The location is good. Just half a block to the subway and about 2 blocks to Times Square. I would recommend this place due to the location and the friendly and helpful staff, not all the 'extras' that rarely worked.

I loved the bathroom, it was clean spacious, with a great shower. The bedroom itself would have been great if only it had been bigger. we found it incredibly difficult to manoeuvre around our suitcases as there was no where for us to store them.

We thought this was a very fine hotel for the cost. The location is within walking distance of the theatre district, Central Park, and Lincoln Center. The room was small, but clean. The staff were very friendly and quite helpful. Would stay again.

The Washington Jefferson was a great place to stay for our first trip to NYC as it was so central. We stayed in a standard double. The room was very hot so we requested to have heating turned off and we didn't need it back on for the rest of the week! The rooms are small but clean and adequate. Bathroom was very nice and so were the staff. Would reccommend this hotel to couples/ singles.

The location was excellent! We stayed 4 night and although we only needed a place to sleep it was still lovely! The satff were always helpful from telling us about bars, clubs, restaurants, taxies, subways etc!! Couldn't have been more helpful! Definatly stay again. Our twin room was pretty small but very clean. Location was a central perfect for everything! The subway was at the end of the block. Amazing restaurant called Thalia (Orange writing on the sign)....orger the duck! I'm still craving it. Hotel also has some permenant guest who were also very friendly! Much better and friendly service than with some larger hotels, you get to know the staff and they get to know you.

Location is great, but otherwise . . . not impressed. Rooms are small, no coffee (anywhere on premises); staff was aloof. Overall, disappointing -- attempts to look "upscale" but it is apparent that corners are cut wherever possible.

It's really well located, only 10-15 minutes walking away from The Mall. It has a Pharmacy just around the corner open 24h a day so it helps a lot for you to grab something to eat or drink very economical. The rooms are good but i believe they shpuld review their heating system and windows isolation because we had some issues and also the bathroom wasn't very spacious. But in general the hotel facilities and rooms space are good, service is ok and adjusted well the quoted price. Definitely more a 3-star than a 4-star but i would stay here again without any consideration. And beware of city taxes on the total amount (that Venere warns in advance).

The hotel is in a perfect position in Manathan, just few steps from Time square and metro entrance. Our hotel room was very little (not even french are like this), but with the essential and clean. Welcoming and quality of services... just perfect. If you do not want to spend too much and you want the quality, I can recommend you this hotel in "Hell's Kitchen"!
