Dining:
"Exquisite gourmet cuisine."
The Thai kitchen in itself has become one of the country’s biggest exports, and naturally nothing can compare to the genuine thing!
Wanakarn offers guests the delights of Twin Waters Restaurant (fine gourmet and semi-casual dining), a mix of Thai and French cuisine. To walk into the dining room for the first time takes the breath away. It is superbly proportioned, with well-spaced, immaculately dressed tables. Available for dinner, guests may choose to dine indoor or outdoor by the river front.
Receive a complimentary gourmet a la carte breakfast when you stay at Wanakarn Beach Resort and Spa. Guests may choose for the breakfast to be served on the Villa's terrace on white crisp tablecloth or pool side at the Twin Waters Restaurant.
Casual dining and a pool bar are available all day for guests while enjoying the oversized infinity main pool.
Surrounding Location:
General Activities
Hat Thai Muang
Where Wanakarn is located, is a spectacular stretch of sand, 13 kilometers long with clear water and an adjacent golf course. From November to February, sea turtles come to lay their eggs on the beach. As a result, local inhabitants customarily go view the turtles on moonlit nights.
Coral Reefs
The best reefs in Thailand are those surrounding the Similan and Surin Islands, now a world-famous dive destination. Here the variety of hard corals is especially good, and amongst them is an amazing variety of fish life – small, colourful fish that arise from the coral in brilliant swarms.
Phang-nga's Andaman coast
offers parks of a different kind. The island groups of Surin and Similan are renowned for their beautiful unspoilt beaches and spectacular underwater scenery, attracting divers from around the world.
Phang-nga Bay National Park
a geological wonder filled with islets, sunken caverns and shirtling rock formations rising sheer out of the sea. The bay is extremely sheltered, ideal for expeditions of sea canoes to explore the many fascinating caverns (hangs) with their own eco-systerns.
Panyi
an island famed for its Muslim village built entirely on stilts
James Bond Island (Khao Ping Kan)
with its split cliffs leaning against each other
Thalu Island
and its wondrous sea caverns
Khao Khien
home to the rare swimming iguana.
Khao Lamphi - Hat Thai Muang National Park
was declared a national park on April 14, 1986 and covers a total area of 45,000 rai. Thai Muang is a phrase indicating the end of the mining district, and indeed this area was formerly, one of the great repositories of tin in the world. Mining has ceased, and little trace remains to the untrained eyes except in the name.
Nam Tok Lampi
The waterfall is medium sized and divided into three levels, each about 100 meters high. It flows year round.
Nam Tok Tone Prai
is a large waterfall with water flowing year round. The hike to the falls is most enjoyable during dry season.
Khao Lak-Lamroo National Park
covers parts of Thai Muang, Kapong, Takua Pa, and Phang-nga Town (Muang in Thai) districts.
Ban Bo Dan Hot Springs
Ban Bo Dan Hot Springs, located in Tambon Na Toei, on the Andaman coast. The water of the natural hot springs are laden with minerals such as sodium and calcium, which are believed to relieve rheumatism, numbness, and help lessen the tension of both body and mind, as well as being beneficial to your complexion and hair. Mineral baths are available daily.
The Chulabhorn Underwater Park Conservation Centre
This centre is near Thap Lamu pier, provides knowledge on undersea natural resources to visitors and the public. The Centre is housed in a 2-story building and exhibits the value and importance of undersea natural resources and environment, the new aspects of marine eco-tourism, and the wonders of the undersea world.
Free The Turtles Fair
Free The Turtles Fair is annually held in March at Thai Mueang Beach. A celebration takes place for 7 days. During the festival baby turtles raised by the Fisheries Department are released into the sea at Thai Mueang Beach.
