I travel extensively for business, staying in some of the best hotels in the world, and this was easily the nicest hotel that I've ever been in. Everything is so sublimely perfect- it was a wonderful experience...

It's a beautiful historic hotel in the middle of NYC. A place where memories are made!

This was our 3rd stay at the Waldorf and once again it was an extremely positive experience. The room was very clean and well maintained with rich, classic furnishings, the bedding was extremely comfortable with exceptional linens, and the temperature of room easy to control and working well. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Location of hotel is within walking distance to Central Park, midtown area, Rockefeller Plaza, along with great shopping and dining. One word of advice...make sure you bring along a copy of your Travelocity confirmation to assist in checking in. We had "room assigned at check-in" accommodations for 2 adults and 2 young teens, and were given a room with 2 double beds which was what we wanted. Checkthe location of room during check-in. Our room faced another room in a short alcove, and you could hear the other door open and close, and the guests talking which was disturbing. It would be better to have an open hallway room. However, it didn't diminish the quality of our visit. We would most definitely stay at The Waldorf again.

I had always wanted to stay at this hotel, but I was extremely disappointed. The service was horrible, the "follow thru" was laughable, the noise level on my floor was so loud I thought the building was shaking!! My husband tried to surprise me with a bottle of wine and appetizers in the room. They were never delivered, the guest services woman said someone would call me and discuss what to do. I never received a call. Their claims of service are bogus! For the money, I would stay somewhere else in the future.

My stay was very disappointing to say the least. Paint chips falling from the ceiling, not to mention the bubbling and patched wall paper. When requesting another room I was informed it was "An old hotel" as my friend said then charge 1950's prices because that's the last time anyone cleaned the curtians.... Shame on them and shame on me for paying their outragious fee. The new owners the Blackstone Group need to regroup. Take my 785 and buy some cleaning products.

Classic NYC experience at the Waldorf Astoria - although it seems to be overrun by Midwesterners in shorts & sandals. The clientele is a little less classy but the lobby looks like a movie set, old Hollywood. Rooms are small but quite nice, great bathrooms & products. We left early but our room seemed to be very quiet.

Yes, I can truly say I have ""been there/done that"" and ""would do it again in a New York minute"". We were in the city to celebrate my daughter's 40th birthday - just us girls! The people were unbelievably friend, the rooms lovely, comfortable & inviting and VERY QUIET on the 9th floor overlooking Park Avenue. Loved the location too. Just a short walk to 5th Avenue, Rockafeller Center, and Times Square plus the hop-on/hop-off bus stops at the hotel.

The Waldorf was a dream come true. It was absolutely beautiful. They had every service that you could possibly need. It is located in the heart of New York which made it a wonderful choice for a short vacation. The Staff is wonderful, the room service is extremely pricey, but all in all we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

The Waldorf Astoria is definitely part of the New York experience, and recommended for anyone looking for a weekend getaway. The Peacock Alley restaurant was also excellent.

It was nice to get away and be in a hotel that had uniqueness to it. The staff made us feel welcome ant were available to answer questions, give us directions, and even lent us an umbrella to go out in the rain.

On my arrival, they gave me a terrible dark dingy small room with mould smell. I requested a better room and only then, they provided me a great room in a very high floor. It was a day and night of difference experience. I did this evaluation on the basis of the second beautiful room.

This is a beautiful, old and luxurious hotel. The rooms are small, but this is New York, so that it is to be expected. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It is one block away from 5th Avenue and very close to Rockefeller Center. I would recommend it to anyone.

Overall review: overpriced for level of expected service and amenities. We were never greeted at the main entrance and no one ever offered to help with luggage or hail a taxi for us. My check-in was quick, but I had intentionally added on 2 days to my stay and I made this obvious at the reception desk so as I would hopefully not have any problems with length of stay; however, my room keys were deactivated mid-stay (even though I had already paid for the rooms). Very inconvenient. They even confiscated my mini-bar key right out of my room even though I had never used the mini-bar. The rooms are small (typical of NYC), but the furnishings have a ways to go with catching up with the times. No Flat Screen TVs in most rooms at the Waldorf-Astoria.
