We celebrated our 38th anniversary in Chicago. My wife had never been to the "windy city" so, staying at W Chicago Lakeshore made that experience much more enjoyable.

It just all clicked, staff were helpful and made things happen without a fuss. Nice helpful staff. Understood my needs and made them happen. Although a little heavy on the cool factor the ability of the staff to get things right more than compensates that. The food in the Wave restaurant was well thought out and avoided any silliness. Female concierges were great. I would go back!

Much like the highend denim line "Rich & Skinny" - W Lakeshore is the hotel for everyone that everyone else loves to hate yet secretly wants to be - the young, skinny, trendy and rich crowd! The hotel embodies chic and exclusive from the moment your towncar pulls up all the way up to the swank Whiskey Bar on the 33rd Floor! The rooms are modest minimalist and while the bathrooms are small, the Bliss sinkside six more than makes up for it. Yes, there's not much privacy but this shouldn't bother the beautiful ones with an exhibitionist side, the reviewers who complained should've probably stayed home with their kids and their "puggle." W Lakeshore is truly a gem in Downtown Chicago, I went for a writing conference and was the envy of all the others who chose more obvious stays at the Hilton, etc. Hands down the best shower I've taken in awhile and their down pillowtop mattress rivals with my very own! I will most def return to W Lakeshore when I visit Chicago, of course when its warmer and my favorite travel companion, my bikini, can accompany me!

The friendly staff and the decor of the hotel overall.

I enjoyed my stay the hotel itself was nice, but bedroom with a king bed and bath is very small the bathroom can only fit one person, the pool and fitness center was closed for remodeling.

Pretentious, uninterested service...a general attitude from staff, tacky clientele...is not at all what i was expecting from a W...felt like grand central station mixed with a days inn.

Bliss bath supplies, pleasant bathroom. Fashionable without being comfortable, too many added costs.

This hotel would be adequate for childless coupless without shy bladders. Booked a room based on good rate and was assured the pool would be fixed by the date of our stay (12/27/09). Pool was not working which was a disappointment to my 11 and 12 year olds. Rooms were very small and bathrooms were tiny. Limited privacy in bathrooms due to sliding "bamboo" door and large shuttered window between room and bathroom. On the good side, the staff was very courteous. The rooms were quiet and we had a nice view of the lake (which we paid extra for). This would be better for a romatntic get away than for families with kids.

I didn't get to spend much time there , however, It was a very nice place ...7.00 orange juice a little hard to swallow but this is upscale.

I really liked the location in regards to being in walking distance of Navy Pier. I think the hotel was to young and trendy for my taste.

This is a great hotel, in a very nice location! The rooms are really cool, and the staff is very helpful. Take advantage of the whenever/whatever room service, with several menus from morning to night :)

excellent location and view, right in front of the lake, with spectacular views and access to convention center, offices, the magnificent mile. great walking area, convenient distances and great restaurants.

The W was wonderful. The staff was completely accomadating and went out of their way to help with absolutely everything. A gentleman who worked there rode down in the elevator with me and when I mentioned I hadn't yet had coffee, he ran to the kitchen and brought it right out. The super front desk woman, X, gave me two free drinks at the bar the night I checked it. It was very relaxing not having to worry about a thing while I was there. The only negative is the room layout. The rooms are very small and the bathroom has a shuttered window into the room. Not too much privacy there. Other than that I would go back in a minute!

It was a nice experience

Clean linen. Parking! I wish parking terms had been made more clear at the one set. As a fifty year old, I felt a bit out of a place at a hotel designed to attract younger and apparently more promiscuous clients, with a taste for loud disco music early in the morning.

The W Lakeshore overlooks the Lake and Navy Pier. Easy access to the beach to run or play! Only a short walk to Michigan Avenue. Great place to be!!! We will return!

Really great location, right by Navy Pier and walking distance to Magnificant Mile. Room service was really good and the staff was really friendly and helpful. The room had a great view of the lake and of Navy Pier. We could watch the fireworks from bed!

Nice interior details and comfy beds and sheets. Cheesy club atmosphere and lobby staff overly busy.
