18 Euros for a 'continental' breakfast did seem a little excessive, though I suppose if I was paying the rack rate for this hotel, then that wouldnt seem too bad. Centrally located on the kind of 'Oxford Street' of Madrid, but it was only a 15/20 minute walk to the Prado. Right next to a metro (but 2 changes from the airport). Probably best for theatre land. Nice rooms though - and you get a free comb!

This was my first trip to Madrid- the hotel location was perfect for what I wanted to accomplish: to enjoy great food, shopping and sightseeing. It's all right outside the door! I would recommend booking a "Superior" room- it's worth the price difference. Also, great sundeck on the 7th floor w/outdoor showers. View of Grand Via from 9th floor rooftop was also a plus.

The hotel is in a fantastic location at the heart of the pulsating Gran Via. All of Madrid's top sights (the palace, Plaza Mayor, the Cathedral, art galleries, main districts etc) are within walking distance. There are plenty of excellent places to eat, drink or shop too, all within walking distance. The hotel is very clean and stylish with an art deco theme, whilst remaining in an affordable price range. The reception staff spoke excellent English and were helpful in that cool way the Madrilenos seem to have. There is a security presence day and night and they are friendly too. I would definitely recommend the Vincci Capitol to family and friends.

I thought this hotel was a great value and great location. It was right next to a metro station and a 5 minute walk from Sol. The rooms were newly updated. The staff was helpful. My only complaint is that the glass panel on the shower was not long enough. I was cleaing up water from the floor after every shower.

room 302. we found the lighting switching far too 'clever' and found it impossible to get the degree of lighting we wanted for our individual needs. bar food too expensive and not particularly nice.

The hotel staff was very nice. They upgraded us to a premium room for free. We only paid $80 but got a fancy modern room on the top floor with a 20 foot long balcony with incredible views of Madrid. There was construction outside but we could hear nothing from our room. We were glad it had air conditioning but it did smell bad when we turned it on. For some reason no Spanish hotels we stayed in had fans in the bathroom, so this like the others had a slight mildew smell. Otherwise it was great.

Fantastic hotel coupled with fantastic service. I have stayed in lots of hotels around the world for work and pleasure and this is easily in the top 2 if not the best. Would recommend it to anyone.

Very helpful staff. Called for a late check out asking for 1:00 and they offered 1:30. Fast check in and out. Very well designed place. The glass elevator is a work of art.

Great location, very quiet considering how busy the street is and traffic noise outside. Room really clean and modern if a little small. Did not eat a restaurant or use bar but staff otherwise really helpful. Would definitely stay again.

Superb hotel, perfectly situated for central Madrid. Staff all helpful and friendly (all speak pretty good english), standard room excellent (decent size,no noise,very clean, good air-con,good bathroon facilities-relatively small hanging space only complaint).Lovely rooftop decking area with tables, chairs, and sun loungers - a nice facility to have to relax at after a long tiring day sightseeing !

Hotel was very central for shopping, eating and main tourist attractions and only 20 mins or so by (very fast!!) taxis from the airport. Open top city tour buses stop a few yards from the door every 10 minutes. The rooms were modern and spotlessly clean. We were given lots of toiletries even down to tweezers for the ladies. We were a party of 4 couples and everyone was delighted. Despite location on busy Gran Via there was no problem with noise.

This hotel was a really modern hotel, with granite black floors, neutral themed rooms and funky bathrooms. The hotel staff were very firendly and helpful, detailing where the sites were on a map. Breakfast was extra 15Euros each, but there was loads to choose from. We did not use the bar or restaurant. The hotel is situated in a great place on the Grand Via, right by a tube station and within easy reach of the sites.
