Paris WeekendVillathena was ideally located for walking to major sites and has good public transport links. The rooms are small but well appointed and ideal for a short stay. The staff were helpful and friendly. We woould return to this hotel

Great location near the train station. Just one block and plenty of cafe's to eat at. Just don't expect to take a good shower. There is no shower curtain, just a piece of glass less than two feet wide at the far end of the tub. For a large man it makes the shower experience quite annoying. The bathroom gets quite wet in the process.

You deserve betterBad location, few services, tiny rooms, very expensive, no english speaking TV. Very friendly staff. All indications are that this "boutique chain" has had so much success elsewhere that they think that everything they touch will be successful. They've missed the mark horribly with VILLATHENA. Again, very friendly staff. In fact, the staff deserves a better place to work.

Would definitely stay there againI was very impressed with the hotel; booking through late rooms made it good value for money - otherwise it would have been expensive. We paid £99 a night for the room (normally it is 185 euro.) Breakfast is extra. The rooms weren't spacious but they were very clean, modern and stylish and the bed was massive (essentially two single beds but it felt like one.) The location was great because it was very central and being a 2-3 minute walk from Gare Saint Lazarre there were lots of metro and bus routes to get you around the city. Opera, Place de la Concorde, Sacre Coeur, Centre Pompidou and the Louvre were all walking distance if you don't mind stretching your legs a little! We were on the 3rd floor next to the lift but we didn't hear any noise and we had a great night's sleep. The staff were very helpful and stored our luggage before we were able to check in and after we had checked out. I'll be recommending this hotel to my family and friends!

small but nicethe room was quite small and the hotel a bit too expensive for what you got. That said, it was clean, and the style was pleasantly modern. The location was average, not especially charming, but also relatively convenient.

Hotel Villathena in the Spring TimeHotel is ideally located with the main St. Lazare station just 5 mins down the road. This provides links to various metro routes. Only 2 stops from the Sacre Coeur. The hotel itself is down a side street and has a bakery just along from it. Bakery is nice but expensive (not as expensive as the hotel of course!)The hotel itself is very nice and boutique. The reception staff were helpful and spoke a few languages. We stayed in room 305. This is the standard room and was small but perfectly formed. We had a small balcony to look out from down the street. There were a couple of areas that require attention. The first was the wooden floor outside the bathroom which had suffered some water damage and was spongey and slightly noisy to walk on. This was not enough reason to ask to change rooms but should be remedied.Second there is evidence of slight damp creeping in to the corners of the bathroom. The ceiling fan in the bathroom did not seem to work and may be the cause of the problem. The skirting boards in the bathroom were also cheap looking compared to the rest of the room.Everything else was fine and we got fresh towels etc.

Hotel was in a good location. Easy to find. Near metro and train station. Lots of cafes for breakfast. Would stay again.

The hotel itself was very accurately portrayed and therefore as expected. Absolutely fine. Two niggles though, one was that we asked the hotel to book a taxi for us on the Saturday night for 7pm. Unfortunately it did not arrive until 7 minutes past and we had to be somewhere by 7.15pm precisely. Although we still made it on time the taxi driver ripped us off for the pleasure. Secondly I made the mistake of ordering a cup of tea from room service. The french do not really understand our love of tea and I basically received a tea bag in a pot that had been heated in the microwave for about 30 seconds - I was there and heard the 'ping'. It was disgusting but as my husband said, they really don't get tea. One final thing, about 2 doors down from the hotel is a building with a permanent canopy and we discovered that this is a favourite sleeping place for some of the parisien homeless, maybe not what you want to see after a night out. Although I would not stay again, this is probably because there are so many other places to stay, rather than anything else.

The staff were very friendly, the hotel is perfectly situated to walk to all the sites and the breakfast was beautiful! The rooms are very small and although the beds are comfortable they are twin beds pushed together, they do not have any ordinary double beds. That said, we had a wonderfully romantic time in Paris and Villathena did enhance our experience, great memories :)

The hotel is based in a central location right near the metro and main rail station, we stayed on the top floor in spacious accomodation, the hotel is set back from any major traffic, so a good nights sleep was always had, the beds were super huge and very comfortable. We loved our stay there and would tell our freinds to go there also.

Hotel is centrally located between a metro station and mainline train station. Hotel room quite small but very clean and modern. If visiting Paris again I would definatly choose this hotel again.

Good location in an interesting part of Paris. Lots of bars and restaurants in vicinity. Hotel is stylish, some details take it a bit far so that practicality gives way to chic. Go for more expensive rather than standard room since size matters.

More of an apartment block than a hotel, room was clean, well appointed but restrictively small. Bathroom was very clean and modern but again difficult to even turn round in it, poorly designed - it was so small you bumped your head on the sink shelf when brushing your teeth! Staff were very friendly and helpful - minibar was welcome, as was the safe, bed was very comfortable but our double was two singles stuck together - common in France but not very 4 star! Area was OK but many vagrants reside at the end of Rue d'athens - a little disconcerting. For a little increase in cost I would stay somewhere more central next time with more of a hotel feel to it.

A great hotel with modern design throughout - ideal to use as a base for exploring Paris, as it's pretty easy to get anywhere by foot / metro. Remember to take a pair of earplugs to ensure a good night's sleep, otherwise you'll be woken up at 7.30 by the Paris dustmen ;-) Buffet-style breakfast was simple and good.

Initally I was looking for a last minute hotel to stay for one day and thought that I would have to end up with a dingy hotel. Villathena was anything but. The rooms were \"as advertised\" and much more. The room size was comfortable enough, the beds were outstanding especially after a long day of sightseeing, the bathroom (toilet) was \"spa quality,\" and I believe that all of the rooms may have a small balcony facing the front of the hotel. The hotel was great but the only thing that frustrated me was being able to find it while driving (take the train into France, Paris or any other European destination it will save you the aggravation) it's a small street which is easy to miss and hard to find, the location was nestled in a more local area it seemed. Most importantly it was just one block away from the Grand Saint Lazare train station (metro/tube) and there are several places to eat in the vicinity and walking distance just 1 - 5 minutes away. Overall Great Place for a Great Price!!! : )

This hotel is great. Nicely decorated and in a really good location right next to Gare St Lazare. It's a very leisurely 30 minute walk to the Louvre through the Opera district. We hardly used public transport as everything is so easy to walk to from the hotel. Our only problem was being awoken on Saturday and Monday morning (8.30am) to the sound of drilling from the hotel next door which is undergoing heavy renovation. It didn't really matter to us as we were out and about all day any way but if you're not the sort of person who wants to get out and see the sights then this hotel isn't for you. Once the renovations next door are finished it will be perfect though!

This was a lovely hotel and has very recently been renovated so it is nice and modern. I have visted paris a few times now and it is the nicest one I have stayed in on a low budget. The only problem I did have was the location, in my opinion it us just a little far out from the main sites in paris.

The service at the Hotel was very good and the rooms were very modern and tastefully decorated - would suit anyone. The staff were very helpful and went out their way to fullfil your requirements. Location was ideal - withing 10 minutes from main attractions.Unfortuntaly did not eat at the hotel so am unable to comment on the food, however when I checked out the staff offered cold bottled water to my friends and I as it was a warm day - very thoughtful.Would stay here again for sure!

The hotel is ideally situated for the center of Paris and all its many attractions. Staff were very helpful , nothing was to much trouble. The lower rate rooms are small, but very good value. We did however miss the room tea/coffee making facilities but staff were happy to make one on request. We will be back.
