The streets of Holbox are made of white sand and the people move in golftrolleys.In Holbox you can make a lot of activities always in conctant with thenature,walking on the shore,collecting shells, canoeing, snorkel,horsebackriding,bicycle,...tours to see The Bird island (is one of the best sanctuaries of birds on thearea.The natural reserva protects thousands of birds and nets.Frigate birds and white pelicans ,cormorants and pink flamingos are commonon this island),Pasion Island, Water eye of Yalahao, flyfishing with afishers of Holbox.You can practice Kitesurf. There is a kitesurf school close to the hotel. In the summer you can see the whaleshark, dolfins and turtles. Holbox is considerated a virgin resort because just a few visitors pull turnup on the island.

Enjoy our delicious Mexican and International food in the restaurant La Palapa with buffet for breakfast and lunch and dinner a la carte.La Palapa opens for breakfast from 7:30 AM to 10 AM, for lunch from 12:30PM to 2:30PM, and for dinner from 7:30 PM to 10 PM.

Let's start by saying, I stayed here because it was a recommendation from a friend who'd stayed here during the Villas' first year of operation. My stay was a completely different experience! Some examples: every upholstered surface was in drastic need of re-upholstering - the dining room chairs, room chairs & pads for beach chairs had torn seams & frayed corners; the towels (we were only allowed two towels) were frayed & falling apart; they were stingy with toilet paper (we ran out two days); the food wasn't very good but the all-inclusive saved us money as eating in town was spendy; we didn't have hot water for our shower on 4 of the 8 days - the boiler kept going out; oh, and on the last night we brought to our room an extra blanket from the 2nd room of our two room suite - it had bedbugs & upon returning home I had HUNDREDS of bites, which by the way itch far more than the skeeters that bite on the island. For the money, you're better off staying elsewhere. The experience is what I expect from some of the "camping"-type facilities on the island, but the price was for a luxury experience. Overall, don't fall prey to the beautiful pictures from the website ... I should've known something was wrong when it took them 3 weeks to respond to my email. I've stayed in better hotels in rural Kenya for $8/day. Don't bother with Villas Pariso del Mar!

This is a great hotel. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable and the beach area is vast and beautiful. A great base for a stay on Holbox. The one downfall of the hotel is the food. It is very basic and somewhat disappointing. We would advice against the "all inclusive package" they offer and eat in town where you are more choices and the prices are still reasonable. Holbox is great and for us, the bugs were not bad at all.
