The hotel had a lovely courtyard, restaurant and pool. The access to Chichen Itza's back entrance was a short walk and easily done by a 69 yr old like myself. I liked the hotel but the staff for the most part was not very friendly. My daughter described them as surly. Most of them smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. The rooms although small, were spotless which speaks well of the housekeeping staff. We noticed that most of the people that worked there were always there. That may account for the aformentioned "surly". I would probably stay there again just because it is so convenient if a bit overpriced.

this was an incredibly peaceful and relaxing place to stay. While the rooms were nothing special, the hotel itself was perfectly located near Chichen Itza so you could walk around at night and get up early and walk to the ruins. The restaurant was in an interior garden and I could have stayed there all day. Also waking up to birds chirping was a welcome change to honking horns in NYC.
