This is a motel masquerading as a hotelFirst I will apologise to those that are looking for a short review, I am being hones and a few words would not do justice here. I recently stayed at this venue because two weeks ago I attended a conference in the Village Cardiff and thought the gym fitness facilities were good, worth staying at a Village if given the choice.I arrived and quickly unpacked and headed for the gym and pool for a couple of hours, then following a workout it was time for dinner. It was raining heavy outside and on top of the fact that this hotel is located in a business park so there is not much choice around, I just stuck with the Verve Grill. At 7.20pm I went into the Verve Grill and was informed that they were fully booked until 8pm, no problem I went and watched the news then came back at 8pm to be seated five minutes later.I was sat quite centrally in the restaurant and it took around eight minutes to place my order, naturally after the gym, pool and sauna I was thirsty. So order my first drink which took seven minutes to arrive, but a further 30 minutes to get a refill despite asking three times. There was no water to drink on the tables either. I had ordered a Pear and Walnut salad as a starter and I am not sure what happened but it was the greasiest salad I had ever seen in my life, I am still not sure if this had been fried. Given that this starter was £6 I have eaten better than this, in London and a much cheaper price at Arbutus in London’s Soho. Once again I asked for another drink when the salad was delivered and long before I had any cutlery on the table; then when the cutlery arrived the knife was dirty. Despite there being six staff that I counted in the restaurant there whizzing back and fourth, I could not get their attention. I finished my salad before I could get a clean knife and still no second drink. Typically in restaurants the moment you finish your drink the waiting staff are on you asking if you would like another drink,

The hotel was OK. The bathroom was a bit musty. The burger in the bar was very good. There didn't seem to be any hotel info in the room, breakfast times, info about the pool etc. which would have been useful. It was only one night though so no real problems

This is a big modern hotel, built in an Industrial area, somewhat remote from any other entertainment - especially for families with children. It would therefore have been useful to have known in advance of arrival that children were not allowed to use the swimming pool in the evenings. The presence of the pool was integral in me choosing this hotel. The staff here were all polite & tolerant of children.Thank goodness there was a fan in our room to move the air about on just about the most humid week of the year!

DRUNKSI stayed here on a Friday night and the hotel appeared to be playing host to several stag groups. They returned from 'action' at 3am from when the shouting, running-down-the-corridor and door slamming began. It was impossible to sleep. Hotels need to make up their minds what type of customer they want to attract. For this one customer, who was in Newcastle for business, the behaviour of these appalling drunks was enough to ensure that I shall not return. Pity, the Village brand is a good one and I like the leisure facilities.

Great HotelWe had just completed the coast to coast cycle ride from Whitehaven to Tynemouth and we arrived at the hotel tired, hungry and in need of a shower and some relaxation. Although it was quite late the staff were really courteous and helpful and we had a swim in the pool and relaxed in the jacuzzi and steam room. Nice fluffy towels were provided for us and the showers and changing room facilities were first class. We then had a lovely meal in the restaurant and although we were the last to leave we didn't feel rushed by the staff. The bedroom was very spacious, clean, comfortable and well equipped. Buffet breakfast the following morning was excellent. I would definitely recommend this hotel - first class accommodation, excellent service and great value for money.

village hotel newcastleWe used this hotel as we wanted to visit Alnwick Castle and Beamish Village, the hotel was ideally located for both of theses location, roughly a 30 minute drive to each attraction . The room was clean and of adequate size, 1 double bed and one sofa bed that could sleep 2 children. Free Wi Fi was available and pool was of a decent size. This hotel would not be suitable for a weekend break in the city of Newcastle, unless you were planning to drive in and out of the city or rely on public transport. Menu was pretty basic mostly steaks and children were not allowed in the pool after 6 o'clock which ruined it slightly for us.

Good value hotel on outskirts of NewcastleStayed here with some business colleagues. It's ideally located for the Cobalt business park and about a 25 minute taxi ride into the city centre. The gym is good and it has a large 25m swimming pool. The \"Victory Restaurant\" serves good standard pub food (burgers & chips, pasta, pizza, steak etc).
