The food is a very poor standard for the prices being charged. I have found this to be the case every time I have stayed here now and if there was a restaurant closer by, I would much prefer to go there rather than eat in the hotel. I have let the reception staff know my opinion of the food but nothing seems to change. On my last visit, they had run out of cereal, fresh fruits and yoghurts at only 8.30am!Rooms are very comfortable, a good size and are pleasantly quiet, so able to get a good nights sleep. The Gym is really great and very well equipped with the new power plates available.

breakfast was good but if you want an evening meal book before you go as the bar food isnt the best and the restaraunt ur ignored in until eventually someone comes 2 inform you they are full even though all the tables are empty.... leisure facilities on the other hand are lovely and the staff down there are first class...

booked off late rooms for an aniversary present be careful on booking as it indicates bed & breakfast and evening meal. I spent an hour on the phone beyween late rooms and the hotel reception trying to sort out both late rooms and hotel tryed to say i had read it wrong . however eventually spoke to a manager at late rooms who agreed after listening to the phone calls and reading it himself that I mis-informed upon booking and that it was the hotel wording. So what was supposed to be a relaxing night did not actually start until 2 hours after arriving at hotel . On a postivie note hotel very nice with excellent facilites and the staff in restuarant very pleasant indeed and meal was nice even though i had to pay for it .

Everything was fine except for the service in the restaurant which started off well but dropped off sharply after 8pm. After eating dessert we became invisible! We beat a retreat to the bar but couldn't get a coffee there either. Had to get reception to provide additional sachets of coffee for the room -- which they could only do after a short delay. We'll put it down to a busy Friday night, but it did spoil an otherwise great break.

Overall the hotel was truly more than i had expected, great service, great food, and the best leisure facilities i have seen within a hotel. I look forward to return for another stay!

Check in very easy and super, friendly staff was a bonus. Recently refurbished and the public areas are very pleasant and of an excellent standard. Now the bad bits ...............which would cause me to never stay here again. The breakfast was inedible. Apparently the bacon is always only grilled on one side and the sausages are always barely cooked! Not so at other village hotels I told the manager but he was unconvinced. I asked if he could check if the food was 63 degrees (which it was clearly not) but the temp. probe was not produced. Staff found my concerns rather amusing!! Eat the breakfast here at your own risk!!

we enjoyed the food in the restaurant. We would have liked to take advantage of the the reduced price on the early meal. Although we were in the restauarnt by 6.50pm we weren't shown to a table very quickly and therefore did not sit down until amost 7.00 so we missed out.

Cust service v good except for the rather surly waitress at breakfast who's main aim was to get the doors closed early so others couldnt get in. Food at Dinner was average but service excellent and very reasonable. However, the bar charged £2.20 for a small bottle of mineral water - obscene. Pool complex is fantastic - brilliant for all ages and the family changing rooms made life so much easier. Very friendly helpful staff here too.

Our stay was only blighted by the problems with the breakfast. We turned up at 9.30am on Saturday morning and waited nearly an hour to be seated, this was apparently due to 2 coach parties, and we also found out that this happened to other guests on Sunday morning.

Arrived at the hotel as a Wedding party arrived, however, we were still met with a very friendly and efficient reception service. We were given a room upgrade which was a very pleasant surprise. The room itself was very clean and spacious - only comment would have been nice to have had some biscuits on the hospitality tray and perhaps bottle of water which I would perhaps expect if I had paid for upgraded room. We ate in the Grill Restaurant and despite contrary comments already noted for this hotel the service was exceptionally quick and the food was excellent quality. The leisure facilities are excellent too and are ideal for families as well as couples too.

It seemed a lot futher than 6 miles from the train station, maybe our taxi went a long way but it was further and more expensive than I expected.
