Hotel is very conveniently situated if you don't want to drive into the city. We walked 5 minutes down the road to catch a train which runs every half hour and takes 15 minutes to get to Cardiff Central. Standard of cleanliness and service in the hotel is excellent, we had great food in the bar , but on the last night we ate in the restaurant and the food was cold and not worth what we paid for it, but we were given an apology and a small refund.

Visit to NSPCC Gala Dinner Cardiff City StadiumLast minute booking with Laterooms proved to be a great choice. Location M4 J32, was great for a quick getaway in the morning. I did look at other hotels in the City but most did not have any convenient parking facilites and often came at a cost. so a short, £12, taxi into Cardiff was the answer. Early breakfast at 0700 was plenty with very helpful staff. Would definetly recommend this hotel.

Excellent value. A comfortable room with modern bathroom and full English Breakfast. When we arrived (at 18.30) dinner was already fully booked until 21.00 but we had a good light meal in the bar.

Highly recommendedGood service and excellent facilities. Breakfast more than adequate. A very pleasent stay and good value, we would certainly use this hotel again. The leisure facilities are superb, my 18 year old son made good use of the fitness suite and we all enjoyed the pool, sauna and steam rooms and we only stayed one night!

We stayed for 1 night, the reception staff were very helpful & friendly. The room was clean & comfortable. Being able to open the windows was a real advantage as I always find hotel rooms to hot. Restaurant staff were also helpful food was good - not stunning but reasonable value.

expencei think this was a very expencive hotel for what you get i thought it was much like a priemier inn except for the price which was very expensive i paid £185 for 1 night and i could of stayed in a hotel which was cheaper and got much of the same quality of service.

Luxury, but on a budgetGreat room, great pool and good food at reasonable prices - with free wi-fi as a bonus

Breakfast/leisure facilitiesNice quality ingredients, nice to see a fresh fruit salad rather than just tinned and a variety of healthy eating choices for breakfast, very helpful staff.Leisure facilities good however very busy and not very relaxing due to numbers of people most likely due to yearly memberships which I know provides an income but not much relaxation for hotel guests

Don't understand why this hotel is so popular as there doesn't seem to be anything special about it. I have stayed in other Village Hotels and the rooms are bigger, plusher and more modern. At the rate I paid through Late rooms it was reasonable value but any more and I would have said it was too expensive.

great time at the villagewe stayed at the village hotel for a weekend with one seven year old and a five month old baby and it was as relaxing as it could have been with two young children. My seven year old loved the swimming pool, good size and lots of floats to play around with. We had a meal here which was average but the breakfast was good. The rooms were a good size and the beds were really comfortable. Would definately stay here again.

Good but only after complainingWe booked 3 nights on this hotel. The staff are really friendly and helpful. When we arrived on Friday evening, there were a couple of hen night parties making lots of noise and crowding the reception area. The room we were given was quite small and simple, I was expecting more for the money we paid. We kept having problems with our keys not working and had to go back to reception everytime we wanted to get into our room which was annoying. On that first night we could hear the very loud and bad karoke music from downstairs until well after 1 am. We complained about this in the morning, as well as about the key, and the very nice lady on reception upgraded us to a much nicer room on the other side of the building. The quality of this room was much higher (it was in the new wing on the hotel) and we could not hear a noise since it was a the back of the building facing some lovely trees rather than the motorway. The quality of our dinner the first night was not great but breakfasts were fantastic. So, we did enjoyed our stay here but only because of the upgrade, I don't think I would have liked staying in the smaller room listening to bad karaoke all weekend.

Very disapointedFriendly reception staffRoom was nice but to hot.Restraunt over prised for standard quality food.1st time in 14 years of travelling that I have had to que for breakfast, and whenI did get a table I was sat next to a table which was stacked with dirty pots.

Pip on Village Cardiff great looking leisure facilities which unfortunately I didn't have time to use. very helpful and pleasant staff.Room OK would have preferred a double bed to 2 singles. Toilet roll holders broken giving a rather shabby impression . Personal preference against those wall mounted shower gel dispenser things which in my experience always seem to need 2 hands to provide adequate pressure, leaving no hands to catch the expelled shower gel!would definitely recommend.

OK for the moneyRoom was OK but not as good as Manchester Village Hotel. My husband stays regularly at Manchester Village hotel and had been singing its praises for quality of rooms and food. He was really disappointed as the restaurant was closed - Sunday night and the Grill bar was manically busy. The duty manager did open the restaurant area to allow extra sitting which was good. He also said the rooms aren't as good. I have got nothing to compare it with and I was happy with the room. Breakfast was excellent there were loads of childern running around though! For value for money it was good.
