Made some new friends while staying there.

We felt secure. I found that the manager was not frendly. We did not feel at home, no coffee pot, no hair dryer, no table and chairs to have a little lunch and one day we ask to borrow a knife and they said no. It would not be a place were we would go back.

The hotel is a cheap diving hotel. I really liked SCUBA Mau dive shop. Mau and his master divers are all friendly and help you will all equipment. If you dive with them you get unlimited free shore diving (tank & weight). The snorkeling is just OK around the hotel. Go down to Hotel Cozumel for the best snorkeling. The Villablanca has good AC and small refrigerators. The only problem I had with this hotel is the noise. I heard people walking above me and out on the sidewalk. There is no glass in the main window (just shudders). It is a 35 min. walk to the main square in town. The walk is not bad because there is a jogging path right along the ocean.

I do not recommend this hotel. In Late May(a week and a half ago), I was attacked in my room while sleeping. It was my fourth stay at Villa Blanca. I stayed in a pretty nice room near the pool and was attacked in the dark while sleeping at 4:30am. I have a police report, xrays and had to stay extra days to allow the swelling in my head and neck to become safe to travel. I was hit multiple times in the back of the head/neck and once in the front. I never saw my attacker or attackers and don't know how they got into my room. There is no security patrol at the hotel. I probably will never stay there again. If they had a security patrol this might not have happened. The manager never met me in person and gave me a 10 discount per day for my extra 5 days, wow. I had just got my cash and drivers license stolen...robbed and beaten...they moved me to a real crappy room. I complained and was moved again. I saw 3 rooms. One I got attacked in, the second flooded with rain & A/C overflow water the third smelled bad. I probably will also not get married in Cozumel now. I have done 17+ scuba trips to Cozumel (200+ dives in cozumel) and numerous family trips since 1983. The charm of this island finally wore off on this trip. Oh yea, DAN has a great staff of Drs.

This is a great hotel .We had a superior room and it was very large. The bathroom is absolutely great! There is also a hot tub at the front it is very romantic, especially since the hotl is so private that there hardly is anyone walking around at night. We walked downtown many times, it's about 30 minute distance or you can catch a cab for about 4 dollars. I would reccomended walking along the shore as it allows you to see things better. The staff is sooo friendly , they will give you advice on what to do or how to get places. They even allowed us to check in three hours early with no extra charge, we also broke a glass and let them know that we would pay for it but the owner said not to worry about it. Very Clean, the air conditioner was not loud at all, and the water was very warm.

Excellent location and friendly staff. Electricity went out four times in the room! Good staff and location, but can't recommend due to the serious electrical problems (circuit breaker tripped 4 times in my 3 day stay, leaving me without electricity until someone could flip the breaker).

My husband, 23yr old daughter and I stayed at Villablanca 2/19/09-3/01/09. We had a great time. The hotel is in a great location with easy access to everything. The beach bar and snorkeling right across the street was very nice. We had all the hot water we needed when we needed it. The AC worked really well. The beds and pillows are a bit hard but we were so tired at night it didn't matter. The hotel staff was very helpful we never had a problem. We ate two nights at the restaurant ... ask for the coconut ice cream with the special sauce ..its to die for!!! The only complaint we had was the hot tub wasn't always hot and one night it wasn't very clean but it looked like they were working on it. This was our second stay at VB and will definetly stay again!

I have been to Cozumel over 15 times and this is the worst hotel I have stayed in while there. The hotel is located across the road from the beach(which is mostly coral rocks since last hurricane). No chairs for laying out on beach. There were some lounge chairs around the pool but many were broken. Hotel rooms have cracks in walls around the doors and windows which allows for insects to come into the room. There is even a sign in the room reminding you to put food items in the frig so animals won't eat them. Bed mattress was terribly uncomfortable. They had a plastic cover on it which makes you sweat. Sheets were not fitted and constantly slipped off the bed if you moved. Grounds were not well kept. Grass was over grown. Exterior of hotel was in bad shape. The only positive thing about this hotel is that it is located convenient to dive shops and pick up pier. If my kids had been with me on this trip, I would have paid extra money and gone to another hotel. We will go back to Cozumel but we will not stay here again.

We have stayed at this hotel four times now and it's just like a second home to us. We love it there! We'll be back again.

Good atmosphere; prompt response from manager when e-mailing inquires. I want to stay in the 'Superior' section next time - it seems newer. My partner thought that the water could have been of better quality. Didn't do well with her hair. Salty.

I stayed at the Villa Blanca hotel 1/3/2009 to 1/10/2009. The hotel is right across the street from the beach and dock, a great feature for those that are coming to take advantage of the rgeat diving in Cozumel. Room was spacious with a king sized bed on one side of a room divider with a large sofa on the other side. The sofa was large enough to be a comfy day bed for reading and napping while watching TV. The room had plenty of hot water all the time, a plus for room in this price bracket in Cozumel. Room was clean and a/c worked very well. Staff was exrtemley helpful, cheery and courteous. Restaurant on premises served large portions of good food, a nice touch was when the chep picked fresh basil from the garden for our Caprese salads. The only thing I would alert you to is if you bring any electronics, the electrical outlets are two prong, so go to Home Depot or yu local hardware store and pick up a 3 to 2 prong converter. For those internet junkies, the rooms towards the end of the property get spotty reception, easily fixed by sitting out side the room or in the restaurant. All in all a great experience and I am planning a return trip

This was my first trip to CZM in a number of years. First time at this hotel. Clean room, firm king bed, cold quite AC. Was able to check in several hours early, due to arrival time. The entire staff was very helpful. The bar and restaurant next door was GREAT. The beach bar was good also. The only problem was, couldn't cash travelers checks till 10:00. Will be back in a few months, and will stay here again.

Older hotel that was very, very clean. I had a superior room and the hotel was kind enough to accomodate my request for a 2nd floor room. The room was quite large with a nice nice fridge. There is a 24 hr store next door to get beer, snacks, etc. The hot tub was warm, which I have never found in Mexico but it was nice. Plenty of hot water almost immediately after turning it on. Knob on the right is hot water in Mexico. Balcony door lock was broken, there were two locks on front door. Great friendly staff. Very convenient for diving with Scuba Mau!

This was the second time we have stayed at Villa Blanca and it was just as good as the first. The staff remembered us from 5 years ago and were just as friendly. The rooms were clean and a good value for the money. If you are looking for a quiet vacation, just to enjoy the sun and diving, this is the place for you. If you want lots of noise, stay in town!

My husband and I stayed Jan 2- 9-09 and we loved it! The staff upgraded our room for free and we had a great view. For the price it is well worth it. You can also snorkel right across the street at the beach and the boats for water activites pick you up right there on the piers. We loved it and already booked a trip for May.

The grounds are well cared for: mowed, trimmed, and raked. No elevators, but the staff is very helpful. They guided us to our rooms and delivered our bags at the same time. The receptionist on duty always spoke English and is happy to help you with reservations for snorkeling, SNUBA, swimming with the dolphins, car rentals etc. The pool is clean and attractive as was the hot (OK, warm) tub with water jets. All of the rooms have an amazing amount of tile work in them. The "tubs" are all tiled showers and some of them are sunken. Most of the rooms have been recently updated with paint, remote control air conditioners and remote control televisions. Nemo's restaurant served 30 piping hot meals for the reception in 10 minutes. I sampled the chicken mole, but could not resist finishing every bite of my fish. After dinner, all 30 of us moved up to the third floor Penthouse and adjoining terrace. We could easily have accommodated 50 or more. I recommend the upgrade to the superior rooms. 3 girls shared one standard room the first night and it appeared that the sheets had not been changed. They slept on top of the beds. The next day xxx moved them to a superior room with one king sized bed and they were delighted with it. Water pressure and temperature vary greatly. You may have to wait a few minutes for the water to warm up. One son took cold showers but his sister downstairs was quite happy with her shower. We stayed 2 nights in the third floor Penthouse. If guests downstairs were showering, the water was warm and very low pressure. We moved down to 2 & it improved greatly.

It is not a fancy hotel but that is not what I look for. I did have some problems with the air in my first room and was moved to another room the second night. The second room had a funny smell, but its Mexico. I did have a problem with wake up calls that were forgotten or done without a schedule so I eventually unplugged the phone and just used my cell phone alarm. I didn't spend a lot of time in my room but when I was there it was very comfortable and clean. The view from my second room was very beautiful and the room was huge. I really think if your looking for an economical well located hotel this is a great value. It is more catered to the taveller and scuba diver. I only ate breakfast at the restaurant and it was very good. Affordable, good selection, and fresh. The staff were very nice and helpful but they did have difficulty booking tours for me so I found them through the local dive shops. There is a great beach club across the street where I spent my afternoons. I really never needed to leave the area so the hotel was in just the right place. There are three dive shops and a dock right there. A minny market half a block away and plenty of snorkeling. I will definately go back!!!
