Weekend away at Villa Toscane, not the best experience!For Villa Toscane, you check in at the 5 star hotel over the road, when you leave there and enter the Villa Toscane, it feels a bit run down. Even in our last room, a suite with balcony and lake views, the bath had a radiator positioned above it so you bang you head when you lie back and 1970's brown tiles.The hotel had made an error advertising standard double with Late Rooms as a room that slept 2+2. Once I explained we had 2 children with us they upgraded us to a bigger double that still wouldn't accommodate us, and then after a lengthy and upsetting conversation they finally gave us a room that would sleep us all. We wasted an hour moving from room to room (with no help from the hotel, back and forth accross the main road to the reception, with tired children and suitcases). Finally late rooms called the hotel and solved the problem. I asked to see the hotel manager and he was nice and apologised. The spa at the 5 star hotel can be used by Villa Toscane guests. It is nice, a medium size pool, small sauna and steam room in each changing room-men and women. They also gave us a welcome cocktail and a pass for discounts on travel and local tourist sights which was good.

The Villa Toscane is a great hotel for visitors to Montreux without kids, only because of the size. It's clean, quiet, and safe. It's in walking distance to the center of town, which is great.

Villa Toscane is a 4 star hotel. It is excellence especially for the buffet breakfast, indoor swimming, etc.

Very clean hotel with excellent Vietnamese restaurant next door. You need to book a superior room to sleep a family of 4, luckily we got a free upgrade. Hotel will supply a cot for a baby. You can use the spa facilities of the 5* hotel over the road [which is where you check in - good breakfast over there too], but we didn't have time to do this. Nicely placed hotel a stone throw away from a very pleasant stroll along the lake.

we have been in villa toscane while the montreux jazz festival. location was great, the offered facilities (breakfast, wellness) in hotel royal plaza very good. villa toscane needs to be renovated, but all in all the rooms are ok. we will come back next year.

Standard double room was very small, no table, one chair only, with view on a wall. No value for money! Standard single room was more alike a prison: very small, barred (!) window placed high (only accessible when standing on a chair) and with a view on a wall, just above the pavement. No value for money. Superior room is comfortable, although a bath was missing. Just a narrow douche. Nice view and access to the roof terrace. At first sight maintenance of the building was good, but at closer inspection one could find several back cases (especially the roof terrace). Ridiculous that you have to pay for WiFi considering the room-rate.
