Description:
Escape to a true island Hideaway to Isla Mujeres- the Isle of Women- where all is about local color and serenity. The Yucatan peninsula just out into the Caribbean Sea, at its tip, is the resort of Cancun whose phenomenal snow white sands stay cool underfoot even the fiercest sun. The turquoise waters lure the tourists but you can escape to the seclusion of Villa Rolandi on Isla Mujeres, seven minutes off the mainland. Water is a constant presence from the moment your journey begins when you are whisked away from port on the hotel's private catamaran "Cocoon" across the vibrant turquoise hues of the Caribbean. The Villa is a meeting point of two ancient cultures: Mayan & Roman. Evidence of the amazing Mayan civilization is everywhere in the peninsula. Villa Rolandi takes the concept of modern Italy and plants its Mediterranean style on Mayan shore blending the architecture harmoniously with the beautiful environment of this small island. The magic continues when you enter the hotel's impressive open-air lobby richly embellished with dramatic marble columns, domed ceiling and fresh flowers, with its distinctly Italian ambiance spiced with a Mexican flavor.

This hotel is absolutely gorgeous and romantic. The rooms are truly designed for honeymoon couples or simply couples looking to rekindle that spark! The spa is fantastic and the spa staff is talented. The Casa Rolandi restaurant there delivers incredible food with great selection all week long. There was no need to go anywhere else. The beach is small but it is clean, the water beautiful, and the beach service excellent. Do take a day to rent a golf cart and see the rest of the island. A day is really all you need. The entire staff is very friendly and helpful. The only thing we didn't like we having to leave and rejoin the real world again.

my wife and i went on our honeymoon here, the cocoon picked us up in style and gave us a lovely ride over from the playa. were immediatly taken to check-in by our own concierge. i had always dreamed of a place like this, because casa rolandi is my favorite restuarant in the world. combine an exemplery hotel with my favorite restuarant and i will be in heaven. the rooms are beautiful and spacious. each with their own jacuzzi and steamroom shower. the staff knew us by name and were very genuinely concerned that our stay go well. it went superb. we will be going back.the wall are insulated so noise is at a bare minimum, so dont be afraid to let loose. thanks X,X for taking such good care of us on the beach.

I arrived late because of my flight. When I got to the pier they called Villa Rolondi and they came within the hour to pick me up. The room was lovley, beach small but very nice, food good and service excellent. Taxi's were plentiful and safe. One driver even waited for me while I took a tour of the turtle farm and only charged me for the actual driving time. All in all it was a great time. I got reccomondations on where to eat down town, they were vary good. I was a 50 year old woman traveling alone. I never felt unsafe even though I went to town by myself several times. It is a good place if you want to relax and rest. Slow pace, not much to do although there are tours the hotel can arrange for you. The breakfast and either lunch OR dinner was included. Drinks were not and there is a 10-day maid fee. Be sure to take tip money, that is expected for services. A nice feature was the "breakfast box" it was a hole in the wall with a cabinet that opened from the outside of the room and inside also. They would deliver your breakfast in the box and you just open it up and take out the tray. It was always there exactly at the time you request.

Last Sept. marked our eighth vacation at Villa Rolandi and we are returning in May. This hotel is World Class....small, friendly, classy, with impeccable service, attention to detail, and 5 Star food, all in a warm, romantic, "tranquilo" setting. Every room's view is spectacular by day, magical by night. It is light years from the glitz, glitter, discos, and Miami atmosphere of Cancun. Your slice of Paradise Island .... begins as you arrive by yacht and the most difficult thing will be leaving. Enjoy!

We are seasoned travelers, especially in Mexico, and spent our first vacation at Villa Rolandi, Isla Mujeres, recently to renew our vows. Hotel is small - 27 rooms, and staff get to know you by first name. They work hard on trying to make it exclusive experience. Rooms were nice unless you were traveling with a girlfriend (not couples rooms), in which case you got single beds (not worth it for the money) with a blanket and sheet. Other couples rooms had king size beds with duvets. Room amenities were nice - dual showers, steam rooms, in-room safes, all room swith balconies overlooking beautiful view of ocean, mini bars, jacuzzi on every balcony, etc. Food was presented gourmet style and was good - not excellent. Transportation from Cancun airport was timely and private. We all left with bug bites on legs - thought it might be bedbugs, but more likely tropical bugs. Atmosphere was quiet and definitely relaxing - no activities at night or around pool. Beach was small but nice, lots of seaweed. Chaises by pool were very nice, almost like beds with towels chnaged daily. WE did find you had to go out early to get a spot. This was small, imtimate atmosphere. Spa was nice and convenient to make an appt., practially walk-in. Taxi to downtown was 6.00 each way. All staff extremely accommodating. We would go definitely go back. We came back from vacation very refreshed and already wanting to go back.

Villa Rolandi had very comfortable rooms with a jacuzzi in the terrace where you could see the sunset. They could deliver a continental breakfast in your room that you found right on time in a special box which meant that they would not bother you with waiters in your room in the morning. It had one of the most romantic restaurants to dinne in, right on top of the ocean with excellent food. When we wanted to see the rest of the island and snorkle in a special place they provided us with a minimal rent a golf cart that was convenient for the small island.
