The Residenza Villa Maria was comfortable. It was a ways out from ROME, but it ended up being nice and comfortable, fresh air and a breeze. The staff was great and helpful. The rooms were decent sized with a view of the garden area. It had a pool and work out area. The lounge offered reading/ sitting areas. internet availability, a pool table, fooze ball and vending machines. The rooms were airconditioned withe personal controls. The Inn is being renovated so improvements are occuring, but did not bother the guests. The morning beakfast choices were great and included. There is a shuttle in the mornings to the metro station, but don't forget to sign up. There is also a city bus, but tickets can be hard to find. Tom and Jerry's bar in town sells tickets and bus top is right outside the bar. There are not any eating places open late so eat before you return in the evening. This is in a small town outside of Rome.

We LOVED this place! It was difficult to find and in trying to find our way there we got a bit frustrated!! However, by the time we walked through the gate we were instantly at peace. The location is fabulous, the staff are friendly, the rooms are gorgeous. We'd definitely recommend staying here - even better if you have a rental car as it's a wee way from Central Rome - but worth it to escape the hustle and bustle!!

We were a little disappointed with the quality not quantity of breakfast provided compared to other properties in Italy. Staff were great and very helpful.

The picture on the website doesn't do the villa justice, it really is in a nice spot with a beautiful gardena dn a swimming pool at the back looked over by a cornfield. The breakfast lets the overall standard down, plastic plates and cutlery and bad coffee. It took us an hour to drive to central Rome from the villa because of the traffic. It is advertised as being only 5 kilometers from Rome, when what they should say is that it is five kilometers from Rome city limits, and from there you have at least twenty kilometers more to drive. You need a car or other transport to stay here.

Many thanx to those of you, who wrote us to have a car. However, you always have to calculate addtional 1-1.5 h to get into the centre of Rome (crowded streets, problematic parking at the metro station, subway). The welcoming at the reception desk was also not perfect: you should be cautious with number of nights reserved, price, etc. at checking in, since a girl at the reception seem not to be extremely competent. Still, the surroundings of the Villa are magnificent (for kids) and many thanx to the male service-man who was helpful with milk for our baby.

The property was nice however it was a great distance from the City Centre. It took two hours everyday to return to the hotel via metro/bus. The bus (only 1 bus) DOES NOT run on a frequent basis out to the hotel. Upon arriving to the Villa Maria the room we were given had no hot water. We eventually got a room with hot water but it took some persistence. Also, on our way to the Airport we used the contracted Taxi service, he was not going to honor the price posted in the Hotel. We had to get the Hotel clerk and they had some heated discussions about that issue. That conflict needs to be resolved because we spoke very little Italian and did not like the feeling of being at the mercy of the Taxi driver.

this hotel was miles from roma central, and the last bus back was very early every evening. the staff were not helpful, and we spent what we saved on a cheap hotel on transport. some taxis would not take us there as was too far. transportation was complicated and frustrating so do not stay here unless you like wasting time.

The website makes the bus seem like a transportation option. We took the wrong bus, waited 2 hours and gave up on the bus on Sunday. We rented a car and everything was fine. The place is very quiet except for some dogs barking.

I had specifically requested information on the distance of the accommodation from Rome by public transport. I was told it was ca. 25 min. from central Rome by bus. It turned out to be in excess of an hour, which is why I cancelled the accommodation. As I obviously had to click some radio button in all of the above categories, most of which I cannot judge for lack of experience with Villa Maria other than their rotten communication, I clicked 'poor' throughout.

This was the first bed and breakfast location looked at on web site, price was within desired budget so booked to stay there. Impressed by the quick response from their own e-mail system confirming the booking. Area map from their own web site was slightly misleading in that the villa appeared to be opposite a golf club entrance, in reality this was not the case as the two places were actually on different roads and we stumbled across, rather than 'found' the villa as we were in a line of slow moving traffic! However, the written directions were quite explicit and accurate. Upon arrival first impressions were excellent and nothing occurred to change this, although a minor critism would be that the shower curtain had certainly seen better days! Breakfast was simple but filling. All in all would definitely stay there again.

1. Poor breafast. Fresh bread = baguette or similar + some cheese, cold meat, salami would be a minimum. 2. Toilet seats in Italy in general slip sideways when yyuo sit down and jump a few cm downwards. No doubt their hinge break prematurely by this, as most public toilte onle feature the naked porcelain to sit on. Italian engineers can do much better. 3. The shower curtain system was poor and did not stop water from spraying the bathroom in general. Did not cover the full 2 sides open, and were too long. If you tried your best it came too close and you gotinto contact with it as you moved to put the soap on. Very simple to make a big improvement here!!

Very poor breakfast; male part of the personnel excellent and very helpful; crowded rooms, facilities need some improvement; very nice garden and swimming pool; thin walls - noises could be heard from the other rooms; nice location

Nice small countryside Hotel, overall satisfied with correspondance to the web presentation with a few minor remarks: They do not serve "American breakfast" as stated on the website. Continental would describe it better (toast, marmelade, 1 piece og fresh pastry, Coffee and tea /juice, occasional fruit). Nearby restaurant and shopping area(200m). The staff was friendly, a little difficulties in English communication. Room size varies. Was offered a very small one, but on request got a 3-bed room. None of the rooms had any chairs. The room was clean and tidy. One day bad/no water pressure (maybe because they refilled the pool after cleaning that morning). No secure car park. After all, the standard is fairly good considering the price.
