We stayed in this hotel 20 years ago, and returned to find it in even better shape than the last time we were there. The updated rooms featured flat-screen TVs, the entire hotel is non-smoking, and the spotless bathrooms had free-standing sinks (that new modern style) with open shelf space underneath for toiletries. Quiet, restful, and in the middle of Toronto's most popular district (walking distance from CN Tower, Rogers Stadium and Eaton Centre) -- and at a price we could actually afford. Plus, there's a great restaurant on premises, with a terrific breakfast menu.

Location to downtown. No parking. This is a small hotel close to everything downtown Toronto . For the price you can't go wrong . Subway is just outside the doors if you need to travel . Rooms are small but clean and the staff are friendly and helpful .I would have no problem staying here again .

The entrance to the hotel is off putting, it is dingy and exposed pipework makes it look shoddy. However the rooms and corridors etc are very nice.

Great location - near train station & BCE Place. Old but completely remodeled. Clean. Reasonably priced.

The only real complaint that I had was that the beds were small and tilted a bit. The bathroom was modern except for some peeling walpaper. Great location, effecient staff, great price.

Decent room, but small. Beds were comfotable. Wi-fi was nice but hit of miss. Great location. Close to hockey hall of fame and lots of bars.

Wonderful hotel, very cozy and the service was fantastic. Front Desk rep even checked me in online for my flight and printed my boarding pass for me! Phenomenal! Hotel is within walking distance of EVERYTHING there is to see/do in Toronto!! I will definitely return to this hotel for my next trip to Toronto in February!

This was a trip with myself and a friend. Although the room was small, it was plenty of room for the two of us to relax in the evening time. I would not recommend it for someone with children who need a lot of room to run around. Everything was very modernly decorated, even though it is a historic hotel. The room was clean and the bathroom very nice! The staff was welcoming and helpful and the location was wonderful. I would definatly return to this hotel for another stay.

Our stay in Toronto was much too short, but the location of the hotel was great. The parking option worked out even if the directions left something to be desired. The room was tastefully done and very comfortable. We had a short walk to the trolley which took us to an enjoyable restaurant. It was next to the Hockey Hall of Fame-what could be better for a die-hard hockey fan. Next time in Toronto will try to get a reservation here.

The hotel retained its old style charm and large rooms. One staff member was impolite to my companion. A very nice hotel which retains the style and charm of a hundred year old building. Parking is a bit of a hassle for those with mobility concerns. Though reasonably priced public parking is available, it is about four blocks away and the downtown Toronto street layout, especially the no left turn restrictions make checking in and out somewhat difficult. An excellent choice if you have no problems getting around and it is in the very center of everything. Very reasonably priced considering the location.

The bed was very comfortable looking into purchasing one for home. The parking is about a 4-5 minute walk.

I was worried about this place b/c the other reviews commented on how small the rooms were- they were NOT that small. We still had a king bed and plenty of room. I've been in much smaller in San Fran and Europe. The bathroom was recently redone and they whole room was very clean, bed was comfy. The staff was really nice and it's in a great location for all the tourist stuff and close to St. Lawerence Market. There's no on site parking, but there's a cheap Municipal parking 2 blocks away. For the price and location I would definitely stay again!

More than adequate room and great location. A great downtown setting, super friendly staff and a really nice room, what more could you want? I am going back.

Can't beat the location for the price- especially if orbitz has a special rate. Be forewarned- in a hotel as old as this, the rooms aren't the size that most travelers are used to, but for my lady friend and me a queen room was just fine. We were able to leave the hotel and walk to most of the attractions we visited in the city, but the subway was less than a block away to get in those hard-to-reach places. Most of the best restaurants (as I've heard/read about them) in the city are within walking distance as well. Do your research- drivers will have to pay for parking.

Staff. On the main street. For what we were wanting it was perfect.
