If you truly enjoy staying in a dump that reminds you of the Ghetto, then this is your place. It is dirty, smelly, and just down right terrible. I wouldn't leave my dog there, let alone myself. Take my advice, pay the extra and stay at a nice hotel.

Cheap accomodation in the city centre Room was very small, quite old--the door on the bathroom was very heavy, like the entrance door to a public toilet. Service was generally OK, and the location was excellent

Quite good a hotel compared to the price. No view from the window, but a huge TV and quiet room.

I have been connected with a National association for the Catholic church and have meetings every year, with additional Conferences etc. I have chosen to stay here for over ten years. Now I have the added reason to stay as my son lives in Melbourne and finds it convenient to meet with me after work and have a coffee and chat. We have also on occasion used the dining facilities in the evening. I am about to stay again on the 10th & 11th July and am looking forward to the usual friendly greeting."

Room was very tired: old carpet and fittings. View from the room was blocked. Room overlooked a alley way and was very noisy early in the morning. Staff were unhelpful when asked to provide a phone number to call a taxi later on in the day. Cooked breakfast was unappealing and certainly not worth $16.

Old and worn hotel, would need a fix up. No wireless internet in room, only cable. Room OK. Has laundry facility. Bar closed at 22.30, too early. After all OK value for AUD 110 considering the location.

The service was fantastic, staff were friendly. Whilst in Melbourne I broke my leg (I was not at the hotel at the time)the staff were very helpful and concerned for my wellbeing and even provided me with a wheelchair to access my room. I would recommend the hotel to everyone. The price was great and the breakfast was wonderful.

on arrival I was given an Upgrade to a large room with good sized bathroom - this was appreciated. The generous breakfast buffet in Alice's Restaurant was good value for $16 and good quality.

For the price of this hotel you should get more. All I can say is that the location was fantastic! The hotel is run down and unless you request a room that looks like the picture, and there is an extra charge, the rooms are very outdated. I chose this hotel for the location and the price so I got exactly what I expected.

Good value accommodation close to City facilities. Good standard of refurbished room though it is gathered some are not quite as good as the one we had. Recommended.

The Hotel is a classic from a by-gone era, however it is very well refurbished @ least in most of the buildings, our room was small but adequate for our short term stay. The front desk staff upon arrival were less than professional, abrupt, appears that we may have inconvienenced them by actually wanting to stay in the Hotel. I am sure that is not the owners feeling or fault. I would stay there again, ideally located for the CBD, trams buses, eating out etc. The price was average even by purchasing it through the Hotel Club, on departure from this lady of the past hotel the front desk staff were more interested in lunch than service. The cleaning staff on the 4th floor were very accommodating! my room was clean, had to ask for the sheets to be changed however that is policy. Hotel 3.5 stars, front desk staff .5 stars, and cleaning staff on the 4th floor 4 stars.

it would have been nice if a light breakfast was included in the price.

I had requested a NON smoking room when I booked on the internet, however when I got to my allocated room it was DEFINITELY a smoking one. After a chat to reception they organised me with a new room, much sweeter smelling, although a little smaller, but cosy. I would stay there again. =)

Able to check in early, 11.30am instead of 2pm. 1st room, tv didn't work properly so we took up the offer of another room. 2nd room wasn't as nice & the tv much smaller. No view from window & wall next to room door had fallen apart, very dangerous for young kids. Door was a nightmare to open, a double lock, & staff had to open it for us twice! Construction work on the hotel woke us up at 8.22am both days. Not happy! No room service such as late night snacks. Location was awesome, 5 mins walk from everything.
