This was just a short getaway, but it was very relaxing. Waterfront park is at the end of the block, with fountains and peirs and swings and benches to relax on and watch the water. The staff were very attentive. When we called for the car,it only took a few minutes. Service at the roof top bar could have been a little faster, but that is about the only thing that I can complain about. The room was decent sized, the bathroom was large. The charm of the renovated building was classic Charleston. The outer wall was exposed brick, the bed was large and comfortable with soft, fluffy linens. The complimentary b'fast is from a menu and cooked to order; the selection is good. Meeting Street, Market Street, King Street, and Queen Street are within walking distance, as well as High Cotton, McCradys, several other upscale restaurants. My advice would be to valet the car and walk, parking is not very plentiful, and we were there at a slow time. We will definately stay here again and again.

Very friendly staff, great location in historic district, and complimentary breakfast. Complimentary wine/food, complimentary milk/cookies, and free bikes. Somewhat of a foul odor in the dining room, and coming up from back elevator shaft. Beautiful hotel, beautifully decorated rooms with plush mattress. Vintage hardwood floors add to the charm. Although the room and bathroom are a bit small, the hotel is well worth the stay. It's ideally located in the historic district. The staff caters to all your needs. The concierge was very helpful with sightseeing information and making our reservations. We loved the free bikes to tour the area. The complimentary food: hot gourmet breakfast, wine/cheese/food in the afternoon, milk and cookies at night, all added to the pampered effect from the staff.

We really enjoyed our stay at Vendue Inn. We were there for only one night, but it was great. The staff was very helpful and attentive to all of our needs. The room was charming and very cozy. I was a little concerned when I booked an interior queen room, but when we arrived I was pleasantly surprised that even though the room didn't have a traditional window, it did have a large sky light window right above the bed. Oh, and the bed, it was super comfy! The bathroom was large and had marble tile, bowl sink and the tub had 4 jacuzzi jets that were fabulous after a day of walking around Charleston. The breakfast and wine reception were wonderful. The location was so perfectly located, just a few yards from Waterfront Park. We will definitely stay at the Vendue Inn again in the future.

The location, style, staff, breakfast....everything was phenomenal and I'd highly suggest that anyone stay here! I loved how the littlest things were taken care of and how the staff suggested tours, restaurants, etc. for us. The Roof Top Bar/Restaurant has excellent food and views. Everything was perfect and I can't wait to go back!

Complimentary decanter of port on Manel over gas fireplace, custom mattress, complimentary breakfast. Complimentary wine and hors devours in afternoon. Some signs of wear in furniture. Excellent, nicely restored hotel in the heart of the historic area of Charleston, 1/2 block from waterfront. Valet parking at $16/night but you can walk to shops and markets from hotel. Excellent staff.

Beautiful hotel, wonderful staff, and amazing beds. Charge for parking. This is a beautiful boutique hotel in historic downtown Charleston. The roof top bar provides exquisite views of the city, especially at sunset. The location is great; within walking distance of the Market, numerous restaurants and the waterfront park.

Pleasant, comfortable, romantic, beautiful surroundings, did not want to leave. The hotel is so nostalgic and romantic. It was like going back in time with all the amenities you could ask. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They were so friendly I felt like we were visiting friends we had known for a while. Would love to go back again and stay a little longer next time.

The staff and atmosphere were great - the location couldn't have been better. Great place to stay - would recommend to anyone, the walls are thin - you can hear people in other rooms but it didn't bother us and we loved our stay.

Location, charm andconcierge. A little noisy. We stayed in this hotel and it was as beautiful this time as it was then. Room was a little small, but that was to be expected in a hotel like this. Only problem was that we could hear everything that went on out in the hall, and we were on the 3rd floor so there was a lot of noise at night from the rooftop restaurant (chairs scraping on the floor, loud music, etc.). When I called at midnight to complain about the noise, the front desk connected me with the restaurant (instead of handling it themselves). However, the restaurant immediately turned the music down. Other than that, it was wonderful. Concierge was a huge help in making dinner reservations and helping us decide what to see. Valet parking was a little expensive, but totally worth it. All hotel employees went out of their way to make us feel like VIPs. Wonderful stay!

"We stayed here on our honeymoon. The staff was extremely friendly. The services they provide: breakfast, cocktail hour, and a cookie hour was an added bonus. They even provided us with a complimentary bottle of champagne for our stay! Would recommend this inn to anyone staying in the Charleston area. Price is great, service was wonderful!"

"Problems with air conditioning, bathroom cleanliness, noise, & valet returned my new SUV with tar splatter all over the front. Front desk staff was indifferent with a ""who cares"" attitude. Customer Satisfaction appears low on the list of priorities."

The friendliness of the staff and the helpfulness of the concierge. The Vendue Inn is in a prime location in Charleston. The staff is friendly and helpful and the owner is visible and cordial to all guests. The breakfasts, mid-afternoon and evening treats were delicious.

Outstanding staff. Front desks attitude when we checked out at 11:00PM it was so bad. Tiny room. The wallpaper gave me nightmares. Was awakened at 6:30AM on my wedding day by horrible sounds of construction. Drilling, sawing, hammering. Front desk said it wasn't them, but it was on the other side of my wall. The television went out Saturday night. Said someone would be there the next day. It was so horrible, we checked out at 11:00PM. and paid for another hotel somewhere else. Front desk didn't even bother to ask why, much less try to resolve any problems.
