Location. The glass-fronted, eight-floor Arcotel Velvet Berlin hotel is located in the arty Mitte district of Berlin, Germany, surrounded by bars, restaurants and galleries. The hotel is 400 metres from Friedrichstadtpalast cultural centre, New Synagogue and the Spree River. Berlin's Museum Island and Friedrichstrasse shopping district are within one kilometre, while Tiergarten Park is one-and-a-half kilometres away.
Hotel Features. Architect Harald Schreiber blended warm colours with clean lines and glass walls in designing the Arcotel Velvet Berlin hotel, which opened in 2004.

Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, the Lutter and Wegner restaurant fuses German and Austrian cuisine. Wine bottles line the walls of the wood-floored restaurant, decked out with maroon-leather chairs and maplewood tables. The heated terrace makes alfresco dining possible year-round. Cocktails and antipasti are served in the Velvet Bar, with its red and black leather, sheer drapes and Venetian chandeliers.

Meeting rooms are available for small groups and there is complimentary high-speed Internet access in public areas.

Distance to Arcotel Velvet Berlin is 16 kilometres, approximately 30 minutes' drive.

Getting there. Taxis are available in front of the terminal's lower level and cost about 15 EUR. The number 109 airbus runs to Zoologischer Garten station, which is on the U-Bahn (underground system). The X9 is an express airport shuttle connecting to central Berlin, the main train station, and the Zoologischer Garten U-Bahn station. All buses leave from the upper level. Tickets should be validated prior to boarding. Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around. The Arcotel Velvet Berlin hotel is situated one kilometre from Berlin's Museum Island and the Friedrichstrasse shopping district. The best way to get around Berlin is to use its public transport system (BVG). Travel on buses, trains, ferries and trams, as well as all U-Bahn (underground) and S-Bahn (over-ground) services, is covered by one ticket.

Driving Directions. Leave Berlin- Tegel Airport on Hwy 11 towards Centre and City Highway AVUS.
Exit onto Kaiserdamm and turn left into Knobelsdorffstrasse, then immediately right into Sophie- Charlottestrasse.
Turn left at the traffic lights onto Kaiserdamm and follow signs to Mitte.
Continue straight at roundabout onto Strasse des 17, Juni and continue through the Tiergarten Park.
In front of the Brandenburg Gate, take a right, and immediately take a left into Behrenstrasse.
At Friedrichstrasse turn left and proceed to Oranienburger Strasse and turn right.
The glass-fronted hotel is the second building on the right-hand side.
