Vello D'Oro Hotel

From the back door of the Vello D'Oro Hotel guests can walk directly onto the streets of the Corso Umberto, the main pedestrian thoroughfare, lined with cafes, restaurants and shops. Drivers can take the A18 to Taormina and the Vello D'Oro Hotel. Trains and buses also serve the city. Visitors can make use of the airport in Catania.

The 53 Mediterranean-style guestrooms in the Vello D'Oro Hotel feature whitewashed walls and ceramic tiled floors. The furnishings are of wood and marble. All rooms are air-conditioned. Each room has satellite television, a direct-dial telephone, and private bathroom with double sinks, a bidet and a shower. Some of the rooms have balconies or terraces with sea views.

The Vello D'Oro Hotel used to be a school for ceramics, and when it was converted into a hotel in the 1950s, much of the ceramic work was retained as part of the decor. There is a roof-top terrace, complete with deck chairs and umbrellas, and views of Mediterranean Sea and Mount Etna. There is a bar/lounge and an onsite restaurant. Parking space is limited and a fee applies.
