This resort was the best we have vacationed at in the Riviera Maya, Cancun and Cozumel. The main pool was huge and clean (although little things like tiles already falling off was annoying) and the small "quite pool" was clean and definitely quiet. The large pool had games and loud music in the afternoon which were fun if you were into it, but we'd go to the small pool if we wanted to relax. There are plenty of chairs both covered and uncovered around both pools. Floats are available on a first come, first serve basis. Only one of the swim up bars was open the entire time we were there so getting drinks took a while but you could hop out of the pool and walk around to the other side walk-up bar and it was faster. The beach was beautiful. The hotel was pretty full so we had to get up early to get the palapas. Later in the afternoon some people would start leaving so new people could come get one. There were plenty of chairs on the beach that were uncovered though. Cabana boys serve you drinks all day so you never have to go to the beach bar! The water was nice, but there is only one swimming area and it's to the far left side. Not a long walk by any means but it would be nice to walk straight out from our chair into the water. We did a couples massage on the beach and a tropical body scrub in the spa. The spa service is excellent! The food here is soooo good ... there are so many restaurants to choose from. The Mexican restaurant and steak house were our favorites but everyone there had a different opinion. Most liked the Lobster Pot, the French and the Japanese restaurant. I would recommend this resort, although we will try something different on our next trip (the El Dorado Royale we heard was a star better than this one.) Very clean hotel, nice service most of the time, and the grounds were unbelievable!

Resort is very nice, if you want nothing to do but relax perfect. They have 12 bars but try to find them. The restaurants have a dress code to laugh at, men must wear long pants, jeans are OK.; 90 degrees and long pants!!!!! Food is OK at best. They do have some top shelf drinks available you just have to find them. This is a great vacation spot for older(50+) couples, straight or gay all are welcome. The resort is brand new and still building maybe they will get it all together. There were absolutely no kids, Which was great. Pool was big and very nice(salt water) and the beach was small but also very nice view, and waitress service for drinks ++++ The best was inroom porn; that will alone get me back.

Great Staff. The Italian resturant was poor the French was Great. (you have to walk alot to get around in this complex). The AC in rooms and in resturants was on low or not at all. I had to move from one room to another because of no AC.

went for a short girls' getaway and will be recommending this gem to everyone! resort: BEAUTIFUL!! after you check in they take you on a tour of the grounds in a golf cart to your room... and it feels like you are in a theme park of sorts. scenery is beautiful - aside from some minor construction (valentin has only been open since november). it is QUIET, not crowded at all! overall the resort is very widespread, so even if they were fully booked, couldn't ever tell! hotel service: IMPECCABLE. honestly the best i've ever had. upon arrival, the bellman offers you wet towels to wipe your hands/face. then you walk in the doors for check-in and another staff member offers you cold champagne. then after a very informative check-in, a third bellman has your bags waiting for the grand tour of the grounds. Alfredo was great!! as we walked through the resort each day, every single staff member would stop what they were doing to smile and say Hola. and it felt like a genuine greeting. the biggest thing was, the ones who helped us remembered our names throughout our stay!!! Concierge made extra calls to our room to make sure everything was going well, and i think Housekeeping even cleaned our room three times in one day! food: not the greatest, but to have such a selection and not have to worry about reservations or how much each meal costs took such a worry out of our trip. the lobster pot was delicious. red wine Montevina was scrumptious! beach: steps away from our room and just too beautfiul for words. RENT THE WAVERUNNERS - exhilerating and exciting to ride through the caribbean sea!!

If this was our first vacation in Mexico, it would have been the last. The A/C in our room was not working, we notified a very rude lobby staff member immediately. After 2 hours it still was not repaired we then asked to change rooms so we could get settled in and begin our 4 day vacation, it was already 8pm by this time. Finally, at 10pm she changed rooms for us. Problem was, it was occupied by another guest! Embarrassing! It was now after 11Pm before we were in a room. Basically, we lost a day of our short vacation. Customer service by this particular staff member was not a strong point. We would not recommend this property. In addition, most of the beach has danger warning signs because of the slippery rocky bottom.

My friends and I decided to spend our weekend at Valentin Imperial, everything from check-in to check-out was perfect. The hotel is enourmous, there are 9 specialty restaurants, on top of 24 hours room service, there are also 12 bars that serve top of the shelf drinks. The pool is huuuuuge and there are plenty of sun chairs for everyone in the hotel, so you do not have to worry about coming down to the pool and not finding a sun chair available. One of the nights we had dinner at the asian restaurant and the food was exquisite and not to mention the service was impecable. The lady that was in charge of the cleaning of my room was the best I have ever had and I do stay at different hotels very often, and she made sure my things were always well kept and in order, once I left my earrings and necklace lying on the sink and when I came back she had made a nice swan fiigure with a towel and had place my earrings and necklace on top of it. I highly recommend Valentin Imperial, it is a beautiful hotel, with excellent service, good quality, and the rooms are just beautiful.

We had a Great time at the Valentin Imperial Maya. We had a beautiful view from our room. I would recommend getting on the 3rd floor. We really enjoyed the diners at every restaurant the food was great. Lobster House and Japanese was my favorite. The nightly entertainment was first class. We swam with the dolphins which was so much fun and went snokling.

We have no complaints whatsoever with the facility. Everything was great and all the personnel seemed to be making an effort to meet our every need. I don't know how our stay could have been eny better. We would definitely return there again.

Grounds are immaculate and beautiful. Rooms AC is marginal. Every couple we talked to said their rooms were not cold enough. It was passable at night with the ceiling fan. Most dinners took well over an hour due to poor service. This is pretty common for an all-inclusive though, there is no incentive to provide good service, even though they are getting tipped. Guy from Scotland said they get bad service in the UK, but this was worse. Coffee bar was good, but first nite we went there was only one other couple in the place and they said they had been waiting 27 minutes. Swim-up bars and other bars do keep the drinks coming. Beer cooler on beach is nice touch, but if you are far away from it not that convenient. Bring a coozy or small cooler

Okay... Okay... I've read the reviews... the good and the bad. Here's a fair critique about the Valentin: The landscaping and architecture are what you would imagine, but better. My husband and I spent hours in the early morning taking in the resort and it's awesome beauty. We were amazed at the "attention to detail" from the resort staff. From the grounds maintenance to the bellmen, it was ALL impeccable service, with or without tipping. We were upgraded to a Swim-Up Suite. The rooms are fabulous! We spent most of our time at the pool in front of our building (#8). We rarely saw anyone there except our traveling companions and the bartender. It was quiet and relaxing. We walked to the main pool about once a day to get some social interaction, listen to music and have some cocktails. Whichever your preference, the pools are magnificent. I've read that the "night life" is non-existent. But, I found that it is what you make of it. For us, the Sports Bar was the late night place for after dinner entertainment. The Casino Night was absolutely the best time we had there. Unfortunately, the food was just edible. However, we did get the best meals at the breakfast buffet and the Teppanyaki tables at the Japanese restaurant. Room Service was not the best. We decided that the food is more "presentation" over "quality". We were not able to visit every restaurant on our trip, but I assume it is "hit or miss" at most of them, depending on what you order. Remember, the portions are small, so order more than you think you might want. Overall, I would more than recommend this resort to anyone. It is a wonderful place to relax and be pampered. A DEFINITE must!!!

The staff is amazing! They will bend over backwards to do anything for you.We felt like royalty!! The beach is beautiful. The water is a clear turquoise blue. Pool is huge!! Fun pool games if you want to do that. Food is good to great! Seven restaurants on site all without reservations needed. Rooms are very nice and maid service is excellent. Everything is spotless! Beer and wine good, mixed drinks ok. The grounds are lush and tropical. Entertainment nightly. Mostly good. Overall great place!!! We would go back tomorrow!!

We enjoyed the hotel less some minors distractions. The food at each of the restaurants was awesome. The staff was friendly and attentive most of the time. The pool is ok but needs a little something extra for fun. Unfortunately, my flat iron and prescription meds were missing from my room after the 2nd day we arrived. be prepared to walk and be prepared to spend $ for the excursions. But the hotel overall was worth it!

The resort was beautiful and the beach was excellent. Our food was always good and some was even great. Service was wonderful, but that could have been because it was only at 60% occupancy. I'd like to think it's always that good though. We spent most of our time at the beach which was very clean and had plenty of palappas for everyone. You definitely need those at some point in the day! I would recommend a junior swim-up suite in building 6 or 7. This was very centrally located and you have water out your front door plus a bar just a little way down the lazy river. How much better can it get? We had a group of seven and all of us would return to the Valentin.

They bend over backward for you here. Good selection of food, didn't enjoy everything, but we always found something. Beautiful, beautiful location although a little far (not within walking distance) of the towns. Awesome room, again service was amazing by the staff.
