We used this hotel primarily to shower off after a day at the beach and to nap prior to a grunion run. The room was clean but, very noisy. The pool was basically outside the front door and occupied by noisy people.

It's not the best I've ever been in, it's not the worst I've ever been in. Beds were firm, decent pillows, sheets were clean. Carpet should've been replaced a good 5 years or so ago. Room had DirectTV & a decent WiFi connection. The road out front is CRAZY busy - I was there for 4 nights and heard & saw the aftermath of 3 car wrecks outside of the gas station across the street. Problems: - my bathroom had a leak from the bathtub above. Mentioned it to the desk and they didn't seem to care. - shower head - had a massage head on it. It must be getting old, as a part inside would get stuck and start this LOUD, annoying vibration. Onlyway to stop it was to shut off the water, then turn it back on. - one of the exterior security doors on the side would't open. I had to walk to the front with all of my luggage to get inside. All & all, it wasn't bad for the price. Next time however, I'm staying closer to the event I was in town for over in Long Beach.

So mom and I arrive from a 6 hour late train and find that the hotel we were meant to stay in is sold out and cant accomodate us, so we went 1 block down and stayed at the Vagabond. There is a slight smell of urine in the 2nd floor elevator area but other than that I found it to be a pretty decent simple clean hotel. Mind you not posh, just a simple hotel with firm beds. I have no significan issues with the venue and actually found the staff very accomodating.

First glance at check in not bad. Room was shabby as I needed a pet friendly room. Next day discovered security lock removed from window which was left open. No alarm clock in room. Plastic bag with crack pipe found in room. This was far from a good experience. I was moved to another room which was much nicer. I can see why the reviews vary, the rooms vary. When I brought the bag w/pipe to the office the owner/manager said people will do anything for a discount.

We had a hard time finding a resturant to sit down and eat. We settled for McDonalds. The only plus was the free shuttle service to the cruise port.

Stayed two nights before leaving on a cruise. Was pleasantly surprised at how nice the facility was for the . We had a king room, on the back of the property (which we had requested). It was immaculately clean, the bathroom the cleaner than most more expensive motels. Shuttle provided from the motel to the cruise terminal at no cost. Front desk personnel friendly and helpful. Would recommend this motel to anyone wanting a clean, reasonably priced motel in the San Pedro area. It's a real winner!

I was very disappointed in the room I stayed in. The hotel only has four rooms set aside for pet owners and I got the last one. I thought was very lucky to get the room until I smelled the horrible scent of cigarette smoke and other foul odors. The smell was so bad; I could only stay in the room one night. In addition, there was no electrical power in the sleeping area so the lamp and clock did not work. The TV worked only because they ran a large extension cord from the bathroom to the TV.

The Vagabond Inn Hotel was clean including the sheets (I looked very closely before bed). Customer Service very friendly! In fact the whole area was clean and well kept. Great location for where I needed to go. The complaints I have are no microwave in the room. Noisey nieghbors (I thought someone was trying to beak in my room) with all those slamming doors, my room shook. A better contenital breafast might help instead of pastries for those on diets.

Albeit a small hotel, it was very clean, neat, comfortable, the staff were friendly and accommodating and the manager was extremely pleasant, I would stay there again."

The Vagabond Inn offered free shuttle service to the World Cruise Center. We left our vehicle at the hotel while we sailed away for 4 days to Mexico. Very Clean Hotel!!

The bed was comfortable. Front staff not friendly. I was told I could not check in until 3pm, however he let two other people check in than said it was ok to check in at 2:30pm. There is nothing but fast food close to this hotel. I would pay more to stay someplace else in the future.

I was disappointed at this hotel. It was an older property and it showed in the upkeep. The room was very basic. The elevator was slow and I could not easily find any stairs to walk down. The front desk staff was cold to my questions and told me to read the information regarding transportation to the pier (instead of talking to me about it). The driver that transported me as part of my stay at the hotel was very pleasant however. I would not recommend this hotel.

"Just stayed overnight enroute to a cruise ship. The hotel is a budget hotel, clean, VERY comfortable king sized beds. Nice small pool area for a morning swim and reading the paper with coffee. Highly recommended if you are looking for a budget hotel in San Pedro cruise terminal area."

We used this particular hotel because it has a Cruise and Stay plan. It was very easy to get to and had no problems at all. The room was adequate in size for three people. It was clean and comfortable. The staff was accommodating and helpful. There is plenty of eating establishments close by. The Vagabond even bussed us over to the point of departure. I would definitely stay there again.

"I was in San Pedro because I was going on a cruise the next day, and needed somewhere to spend the night. I stayed at the best hotel I have stayed in for a long time. The bathroom was clean, the guest service was excellent (even though I arrived at 2am), and the room was clean and taken care of; not new, but taken care of. I will go back without any questins if I am in the area again."

the location of this place is true it is not the best location. Parking was a problem to. You definately need to check in and keep your vehicle on the lot if you want to feel somewhat at ease do to the area it is in. However, the hotel in itself is quite nice and it is very quiet. It is located very close to alot of eateries which is another plus.

"My husband and I needed an inexpensive hotel for one night and this fit the bill. It was quiet, close to night life, and it's pet-friendly!"
