The hotel and staff where great. [...] The women behind the counter is a great worker and knows here stuff. She works hard to ensure your stay is great. Please take her up on the free gold card she offers, due to it will save you allot of money at malls,tours,etc..Note: DO NOT leave any food items in your vehicle, due to we found a large ant farm in are vehicle the next morning and are still trying to get ried of them.

This is an older motel and really could use complete makeover! Overall it is a very clean friendly and comfortable place to stay. The bed was very great slept until the noisey garbage truck pulled up. The only real downfall of staying here, it gets loud with traffic in the morning, so dont plan on sleeping in, beside if you did you'd miss out on the self-serve breakfast. It's aaawsome, everything from bagels, hot or cold cereal to make'm yourself waffles, not to mention fruits coffee tea and juices! And if you want a bit to eat lat at night.. Denny's is right in the same parking lot!

We only stayed one night, on a Friday. The room was very clean and included a microwave and fridge. The bed was comfortable. We walked through the parking garage across the street and into Oldtown Sac. We had a blast, the staff was friendly and we will definitely stay here again!!!

An excellent place to stay. The room was clean and updated. Walking distance to Old Town and shopping mall which was just across the street. They serve deluxe breakfast, free parking, fridge and microwave in room, easy access from Freeway, good pool and hot tub, free use of internet in lobby. Next door was Denny's restaurant. I would come back here again.

We loved the location! We had planned a week-end visiting Old Town Sacramento. We were so close and amazingly did not get noise from Freeway. Kids enjoyed the pool and spa and especially the complimentary breakfast. The Breakfast room was large and comfortable. Will definitely stay here again. My sister and her husband enjoyed the stay and had plenty of room even with the two kids!

I have to admit I usually wouldn't stay at a Vagabond, but I tried it. Location was perfect for what we wanted to do, breakfast was great, pool was great & rooms were clean. I saw people complain about highway noise, I did request courtyard room & got it, but we sleep w/ radios on so noise isn't that big of issue for us. I would definately stay here again!

We've stayed here many times and even though it isn't the Ritz. It's well priced and has a very good location to Old Town Sacramento.

This hotel was way too noisy. It is next to the I-5, car noise; next to the Amtrak station, train noise; next to Dennys Restairant, trash truck noise. Telephone did not work, tv remote did not work. Won't stay with this hotel chain again.

I can't say nothing bad. Nice room and right next to old sacramento shops and bars!

While nothing fancy, this hotel was definitely a good bang for your buck if you want to be near Old Town Sacramento. Parking was onsite. We walked everywhere with grandparents and young children. The breakfast bar was fantastic and way beyond the usual coffee/stale danish that I've come to expect. Staff were helpful, friendly and extremely nice. Would definitely stay again.....and so would my in-laws. A pleasant surprise. This does back I-5 so my only comment is to request a courtyard room, but I did not find noise a problem

The hotel is in an ideal location. You can walk one block into Old Town Sacramento. It's clean, convenient, has a very friendly staff and a nice breakfast. They do a great job at running a quality business at a low price.

"Service was polite and efficient. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast had several food choices including waffles and was served in a bright ,cheerful space."

I really liked my stay, customer service was good, internet is very slow, the location is great, very clean and comfortable, however, if sleep is very important to you and you're a light sleeper then I would request a room that is not near Denny's restaurant, next time I plan on staying I would request a room on the opposite side of Denny's because of the 3am delivery truck that was so noisy for about an hour, and you can only request this when you arrive for check-in, you can not make any special requests over phone. Otherwise my stay was great!!! I would stay here again. There is an inside door that joins to the two rooms that we stayed in, which was convenient for the kids and us.

Great location and breakfast. Room clean--night noise sometimes a problem.

For anyone coming in on the train, the properety is directly accross the street from the Amtrak station. The Calif state RR museum is one blk away and Old Sacramento is only a couple of Blks away. Facility was nice.

for location and convience it was great. The hotel rooms are old but clean and looks like a hotel from our past.

"Rooms were clean & nice but TV was broken, only one channel to watch! Service could be much improved (took an hour to check in). Landscaping needed, dirty planters, walkways & several flooded areas due to broken sprinklers. Homeless people passing through parking lot regularly! "

The Vagabond Inn in Sacramento was very comfortable and family friendly in a location that was perfect for us. It is close (walking distance) to Old Town Sacramento and also to the Capitol building. We liked their breakfast which included fresh waffles and eggs. Our sons particularly appreciated the choc chip cookies with which they were welcomed!

The Vagabond Inn was a nice experience for my family. The staff was friendly and knowledgable about the area, the room was clean and well sized, the beds comfortable. It's not a high end hotel, but for a place to come back to after seeing the sights, it was well worth the stay.
