I was very dissapointed with these arrangements. The location was great for us, and the airport shuttle was the only reason we actually stayed the night. The pool and hot tub were dingy, which I reported to hotel staff, (who for the most part were very pleasant), but totally unconcerned. We actaully had to ask for our roomed to be sprayed with a freshener because of the very "dank" smell. The hallyways were poorly lit and very unkept. I was an airport traveller, so I was there with no car to drive myself and my child elsewhere, otherwise I would have left directly! Very dissapointing stay in a city that I love. The University Inn, has no signage, you have to check in at the Comfort Inn, its like they are embarressed to take ownership of thier adjacent property, and maybe they should be.

We found the location (address) for University Inn & Suites but no signage for the hotel. Drove around the complex and finally saw the lobby entrance for Comfort Inn. Learned that Comfort Inn manages University Inn. Check-in staff very accommodating and friendly. Excellent continental breakfast for guests. On-site shuttle to the Vermont City Marathon. Room was clean, quiet and spacious.

University Inn is located close to shopping center and restaurants and easy access to highways. Hotel staff very helpful with directions, check in and check out was quick and easy.

The room was not clean, the toilet would not flush (I personally repaired, the sheets did not even cover the old mattress. My wife was afraid to sleep in the bed without being totally clothed, including socks. The halls were dirty and in ill repair. There was a maintenance closet next to our room that was left open all night. I tried to discuss this with the manager the next morning and he basically ignored me. This will be the last time we stay there!

We had a restful time. If it was nicer weather we would have been able to walk to a lot of places. My son loved the pool!

The carpet was stained. Pulled back the bedspread, and there was some nasty crusty orange thing on the underside. A pleasant and apologetic housekeeping person brought us a new spread, but it was hard to shake the germaphobia after that.

There were no reading lamps next to the bed. The coffee pot was set up with only cold plastic cups not even styrofoam cups and there was no hair dryer in the bathroom. We had to request one and then the front desk told us they might not have any. The sheets kept slipping off the mattress because they really did not fit. Towels were thin and rough. I would not stay there again and would not recommend it to anyone. The location of the hotel was nice and close to the University and air port -- that was the only good thing. Hotel staff was not very friendly either.

the room was quite basic, it lacked the typical coffee pot. I noticed the room was quite warm, so I attempted to turn on the blower, which only added to the heat, bringing the temperature up to 85 degrees although the thermostat was on 65 degrees. The walls were not sound proofed at all. Our neighbors had a talk show on from around 11 pm till around 4 AM. we were unable to offset the volume by turning on the blower since the room was very hot. We were not satisfied

The pluses: The University Inn and Suites is a comfortable nicely designed hotel. The manager was very prompt in checking me in at midnight, as my flight got in quite late. There is a beautiful pool with gorgeous landscaping around it. I imagine it is a lovely place to swim in the summer. I stayed there in the fall. After checking in, I had to walk from the lobby, across the courtyard, by the pool, and into another doorway to get to my room. The minuses: 1. I'm not sure I would have liked to walk across an open courtyard by the pool in the winter. 2. There appeared to be some renovation going on. 3. The free breakfast buffet was typical with lots of sugar-y white cereals, bagels, & muffins, and a waffle maker. I would have had hard boiled eggs but they were already peeled and I prefer to peel them myself so that the eggs hadn't been touched by anyone. I had arrived the night before at midnight and got to the buffet at 9:30 am--it was just closing. The staff was adamantly putting away the food, while hungry guests were chasing down the rolling carts to get cream cheese, etc. 4. The eating area was quite crowded even at 9:30 am. A suggestion would be to extend the breakfast buffet to longer hours and try to set up more tables.

THe University Inn & Suites was not kept up very well. From the time I tried to check in, to then trying three different rooms until we found one that didn't smell like smoke or mold, to the missing light bulbs in the lamps, each shift telling me to ask the next shift about a late check out, etc. etc etc. The location was good for my activity but they were certainly lacking in service! I ws most disappointed!

I didn't like being bumped to the other building. Our room smelled funny.

I had to drive around to an isolated part of the parking lot, walk past overgrown bushes, and haul my heavy suitcase up a flight of stairs - first to room 244. This room was dark and dirty. I checked the sliding glass door to make sure it was secure, and sure enough, it was unlocked, and I could not get it locked at all. They did agree to move me to a room across the hall. I went there - and spent the night. Never heard another soul in the building all night long. Never again.
