| I stayed there for one week in Dec 2007. It is $5 taxi fare from the airport (10 minutes). It is in downtown Guayaquil opposite Iguana park and 3 blocks from Malecon 2000. It has 24 hour room service which I used. The wired internet in the room worked fine. Security was good, which is important in Guayaquil. There is also a mall within the hotel complex and I got a decent haircut for $6. It has a Sushi bar which I did not use. I went to the Sheriton and Hilton instead, for the live music. For the price it is decent 4* hotel. I did not use the other facilities so I cannot comment. |

| I have spent 5 weeks in the Howard Johnson on business and 3 weeks in the Hotel del Rey in Guayaquil. The Unipark hotel is 10 minutes from the airport in downtown Guayaquil (taxi cost 5). It is opposite the Iguana park and 3 blocks from Malecon 2000. There is a shopping mall within the hotel complex, includes a hairdresser. Web access within the room is via cable and is good. Security is good as you need a room card to access the elevator. There is also a sushi bar. The rooms are good and spacious, includes a mini-bar. Room service is 24 hours. Compared to what is available in Guayaquil (Hilton, Sheriton, Howard Johnson) this is a good hotel at the Internet price. The official price is 140 + 22%. I would stay here again (I have just booked another 4 days here). |
