UmoI stayed in this Hotel on warm summer day. My room was very small and stuffy. Ceiling fan was making awful noice as a result I could not sleep all night. Breakfast room was very small with tiny tables where putting breakfast items was impossible. I would not stay here again.

Staff curteous and friendly. Hotel neat and clean. basic facilities but good accommodation for a short break

Staying at the UMIVery nice room (executive ), spacious but a little carelessly finished, great location being close to the centre of town in walking distance of good restaurants and bars. Must say the breakfast room was very tacky with ridiculously small tables and chairs, I know it was a budget hotel but this was a joke, I thought the staff coped very well in these conditions they still stayed cheerful and friendly.

A Very Good Stay Lovely sea view room, good location, pleasant staff. If I had to be picky I'd say breakfast was only luke warm and that the service was a little slow.

Room was HUGE with a super comfy bed and cozy pillows and duvet. Breakfast was also really good, a nice full plate and served until 12:00. Another reviewer said that the rooms weren't signposted very well, which was true, but a little common sense solved that problem easily enough. Only thing to really complain about was that there was a gap between the window and the frame so there was a bit of a draught inside the room. We didn't care as it was warm but you might want to check your room for similar problems before you sign the papers...especially in winter.

Very impressed!I stayed at this hotel with my Mother and Sister on a Friday Night. The hotel staff were very helpful and polite. Our room was upgraded for free to an executive family room which was very spacious and overlooked the sea front with fantastic views. The decor was very nice and the bedding was clean and fresh, also the beds were super comfy! The breakfast was good (even though it did take a while to get our order taken). The hotel is on a busy main road on the seafront so therefore you must expect some noise from the traffic but it was not a problem for us at all. I will definitely stay here again and I would recommed this as an excellent choice of hotel.

great value for moneyHotel bar is great for people watching as it is at the front of the hotel and looks out to the main seafront. Room was a bit tired in places but clean & comfortable. Our price included full english breakfast served with loads of toast. Hotel is close to restaurants, cinema and beach. Being a seafront location, it was very busy on the evening, so come equipped with earplugs if you are a light sleeper, (although we didn't have that problem).

This hotel is ideally situated just 5 minutes walk from the train station and next to the Brighton Conference Centre. The accommodation was compact but very comfortable and the air conditioning was a god send given the heatwave. Being a single female travelling alone I rarely ever venture down for breakfast, but the hotel staff were so warm and welcoming that I even braved eating alone, and good job that I did the breakfast was fantastic.

Met our needsHotel was satisfactory and met our needs in attending a conference at the Brighton Centre about 200m away. Probably got lucky with the room allocation, as got a room at the front overlooking the prom and beach. Rooms have been modernised but basically it remains a bit dated. Comfy bed and en suite. Good value at the Late Rooms rate.

shower room hellWhilst the room itself was brilliant, with fantastic view over Brighton Seafront, we stayed on one of the hottest days of the year, we enquired if we could turn off the heated towel rail in the bathroom and although the reception staff were very polite they could not understand what we trying to say untill a member of staff who was english arrived. The real nighmare was the shower which was situated over the bath and had a concertina type door which would not open out fully meant the bathroom floor became flooded, as the flloor was tiled this was very dangerous especially as my wife has arthritis and had a very swollen knee at the time. we had to use all the small towels for mopping up and going on the amount of towels provide (5) I think maybe the hotel was aware. We did not make the hotel aware of the problem as we only stayed 1 night and nobody really made any contact or asked if everything was ok when we checked out. My wife would have complained, however I can't stand the fuss as I believe these thing should be checked and corrected be hotel maintenance. We have since read reviews and seen the same problem. Otherwise the room was fine although I would never pay the £210 rack rate.

Overnight stay visiting friendsOverall very pleased, reception helpful. Room has good view of beach but It was very hot weather and with windows open was aware of room being on main road and opposite cinema in terms of noise levels. Twin bedded room was a good size and did not have to vacate until 11 am and breakfast available until midday so pleased to have plenty of time in the morning. Nice breakfast in adjacent cafe area and comfortable bar area.

Nice hotel good location and value for money as booked at last minute with Late RoomsOur first impression of the hotel was a great location (as close to Brighton Centre) which was the nature of our visit, but the exterior was very shabby. On entering the hotel we were pleasantly surpised with the modern clean interior. The receptionist was efficient and professional. We had requested a nice standard room with sea view, which is exactly what we received. Room 501 with great views! The room itself was clean and spacious but in need of a little tweaking as far as the decor was concerned. Some of the edges were very worn and the paint work was poor in areas. The bed and linen etc were excellent, flat screen tv,mini fridge to store your own drinks etc!Naturally being on the sea front it was very noisey throughout the day and night but we expected and accepted this.We had a drink in the bar which was nice but the service was very poor as the foreign barman didn't have a clue what he was doing! He was slow (not very happy) and didn't know what a brandy was! We had to point out the bottle on the shelf! The breakfast was good, albeit it a little slow with delivery. All in all an enjoyable time was had!!

Brighton conferenceThis hotel was perfectly located right across from the conference centre. It was also a short stroll to the Lanes and Pier so is ideal for business or pleasure. It still retains its character and is fairly basic but we could not find fault with the service, breakfast or room cleanliness. I shared a twin room which was spacious and beds very comfortable. Some colleagues noted night time noise disturbance as the hotel is close to a bar and club.Being opposite the beach also gives it an added plus, and the Arrogant Frog next door does great cocktails. I stayed an extra night after a 3 day conference and really felt as though I'd been on holiday and would certainly stay here again.

Umi Hotel ReviewThe room (a superior room -seafront view + breakfast inc) was booked at around 70 pounds a night. This room is truly massive when I first got in I thought the hotel had accidently left a door to an adjoining room open. It took a couple of seconds to realise that a'superior room' was in fact one big double room with a big ensuite bathroom (twin sinks) adjoining a very big twin room! Please be aware as I was not! That parking is NOT provided when I drove down I had to park in the NCP multistorey in the next street which costs 15 pounds a night! The breakfast is massive though the quality very average though for the money you cant complain. We were three guys staying in Brighton for the night coming to visit from London. This room is of full value for 4 people coming down to brighton on some cheap train tickets.
