Located on 880 oceanfront acres of Oahu, Turtle Bay Resort is the only true full-service luxury resort on the island's legendary North Shore. Its natural, unspoiled beauty can be found at every turn. Five miles of pristine beaches and 12 miles of ocean trails await you. At every turn you're literally surrounded by the history and majesty of the island. Of all Oahu resorts or Oahu hotels, Turtle Bay is quite simply, the best. Other Oahu hotels don't come close. It's the Hawaii vacation many have hoped for but few have discovered. This is Turtle Bay Resort. This is True Hawaii. Turtle Bay Resort has almost five miles of beachfront that includes the beauty of Kawela Bay, Kuilima Cove and, of course, Turtle Bay. Only 45 minutes from the high pulse and energy of Honolulu, our guests enjoy the natural tranquility of the North Shore lifestyle and spectacular ocean views from every one of the 443 magnificent beach cottages and guest rooms. The resort features two lushly landscaped pools, two championship golf courses, ten tennis courts, horseback riding, hiking and mountain bike trails, a surfing school, world-class dining and shopping. The Turtle Bay Resort Fee is $20.00 inclusive (valued at over $80.00), applies per room/villa, per day, and is collected directly from the guest at check-out. The following items are included: Unlimited local telephone calls; Long distance access including 800 numbers, credit card and collect calls; High speed cable and Wi-Fi internet access in all guest rooms; Wi-Fi internet access in all public areas of the hotel; Self parking pass; Daily newspaper delivery to the guest room; One hour snorkel equipment rental for two people per day; Access to Fitness Club; One hour Tennis court time per room per day; In-room safe use; Incoming guest faxes; Self service guestroom coffee and tea. Effective December 6th (Sunday) thru December 14th (Monday) 2009, Turtle Bay's two pools will be closed for tile removal and resurfacing. The Jacuzzi's and the Hang Ten Bar will also be closed during this period due to their close proximity to the work being done. Both pools and Jacuzzi's will reopen for our guests on the morning of December 15, 2009 (Tuesday) Free Night Promotions, not applicable to all room types.

My wife and I made it back to TB this year. It marked the 11th time that we have been there. We had honeymoon there in 1997 and we return every year. We have visited all of the islands twice now but we always include a stay at TB. The North Shore ROCKS and there is always something to do. Gabriela and Bob have made this a home away from home(Milwaukee, Wisconsin). Stay here..... you won't regret it.

I saw 2 shark fins in the water.. They dont even have shark nets in the water... 1 person working the front desk took forever to get service...

Return visit to TB (last trip 2007) and I have really enjoyed my stay both times. The location is unbeatable, with ocean views from all rooms. The beach is lovely, friendly to novice snorklers, with food/beverage located on the edge of the sand. Plenty of activities on the grounds - hiking, horseback riding, tennis, golf, swimming pool. Restaurants are good and there are several to choose from (although you can expect resort prices). Weaknesses - as was the case in 2007, room quality varies greatly. My first room (aside from a spectacular view of the beach) was solidly average, particularly in cleanliness and condition. The light fixtures and closet poles were rusted, there was crusted food on the desk chair, and the bathtub caulking had dark stains. Sadly, this does not appear to be an isolated problem - our room on the previous trip was in similar condition. This time I requested a room change and was moved to overlook the pool - a vast improvement (no rust, stains, cleaner overall). I don't enjoy writing negative things about such a beautiful resort/friendly staff, but TB still has some work to do to live up to their star rating. All rooms need to be cleaned up, not just those that house travel reviewers/VIPs. If you get one of the sub-par rooms, I recommend that you take it up with the front desk - with any luck, enough complaints will encourage management to invest the few hundred dollars per room it would take to brighten up again (i.e. new caulk for the shower and replace the paper light fixtures). My hope is for TB to be nicer for the next time I visit (because I will be back!)

Gorgeous views from every room - great scenery. Rooms are outdated. It's the only resort in the area, so the only choice - otherwise I don't think it would be a 4-5 star. It's too outdated. The grounds and the scenery and the balconies are amazing - so are the beach cottages.

No help with my lugguage on arrival nor introduced to the hotel's facilities yet is club like in size. There is no dancing or entertainment. Children are not catered to.The water slide was closed down. Fewer guests in September. A pinball type playstation centre mainly for teens. Very isolated yet no taxis or hotel shuttle to anywhere. Public bus means waiting for 30-60mins and stops are unpleasant/dirty. The Resort Fee of $20/day is an unfortunate managment decision. The room price should be increased accordingly. Pool is approx 30m but in dire need of its bottom being resealed/tiles being replaced. No shark netted beaches nor life-savers. Hotel needs to provide shuttles to the the local townships 15mins drive & to other beaches including Waimea and the Polynesian Cultural Centre or $80/day Hertz.Bus is $2 one way. Island Transporter airport transfer of $75 each way. Palm Terrace:excellent service.Buffets/a la carte. Turtles seen daily in the hotel's bay. 2 shark incidents on Oahu

We just got back from Turtle Bay on March 5, 2009. If you're looking for a romantic, quiet place to unwind this is the place to be. We were on the 6th floor and had an amazing view of the ocean and the pool to wake up to every morning. A few things I didn't like was the day we left we had a lot of luggage and when we went to get a cart they refused to let us have it unless we had assistance from the staff (more tipping). We also ate at an onsite restaurant and the bill was $50.00 for lunch and I couldn't eat it. It tasted terrible but the view again was outstanding. They also charge $150.00 a day for "incidentals" which I thought was quite high. I was also disappointed that at a resort setting that the pool closed at 8pm. For many people who was out sightseeing they didn't arrive back until late and the use of the pool would have been nice at that point. No place is perfect and these are a few minor problems I thought I would share and overall it was amazing and I would go back today if possible.

The Front desk service was terrible. There was only one agent at the front, and I waited 42 min to even be acknowledged. Then my room wasn't ready, and my son had to sleep in a cot, because the room with two beds was not ready. I was told I would be comped a free breakfast, but that never happened. All metal was rusted out (lamp shades, A/C, door knobs, etc). The only good thing was the pool. Two pools, lots of places to sit. For the price, I could have stayed anywhere else and had a much better room. I will never stay here again!!!

The view of the bay was greatwith the ocean sports. I wish the check-out time was later. Very friendly to all. Great to see the children having so much fun with parents on the slide. Ease of baggage handling. Great point from which to visit much of North Shore. Sure beats Honolulu. Would like to come back when the notorious big swells are in.

I stayed here many years ago, back when it was the "Turtle Bay Hilton." It wasn't bad then, but it is outstanding now. It is the perfect Oahu location for someone [like me] who wants to be far away from Honolulu and wants to feel as laid back and low-rise and as up-country as possible. There really isn't a bad view in the house, as the hotel is right on a beach, albeit a rocky one. If you can possible do a splurge, I highly recommend the beachfront cottages - now deeply discounted as I write this in March of 2009 - and enjoy falling asleep to the sound of crashing waves about a 100 feet from your patio door. I would go back in a second. I offer one caveat: Skip the food here. It was uniformly terrible and overpriced. Cruise down the highway to Haleiwa and get some shave ice and burgers or other cheap eats, head over to Ted's Bakery right next door on Sunset Beach. You'll eat better, and feel better, and have more money in your pocket.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay. The resort was beautiful, and so quiet. The beaches were beautiful, food was good but expensive. Staff was great-friendly and helpfull. I had a massage at the spa and it was wonderful. Our room was clean and the balcony was so nice to watch the sunset. Rent a car to see the sites. We went to Wakakiki one day and couldn't wait to get back to Turtle Bay. Saw several sea turtles, geckos, and a mongoose. Try Kono's in halievea for breakfast, and Rosie's Cantina for great mexican food. Also Lei lei's restaurant behind the golf shop was great for dinner. For souvieners we went left out of the Resort and about 4 miles up the road are 3 little shops, great prices and lots to choose from. Loved this vacation- will go back.

Previous trips have been excellent. Level of customer service was unmatched. Seems like they have lost the bubble. Ran into a couple of rude members of the staff. Told management and no action was taken.

This resort is wonderful. We just got back yesterday and are already looking to come back in 5 months. You will need a rental car. Plan on only a few meals there as they are very pricey. This resort is away from everything with extensive ocean views and beautiful golf course. People with small children are in abundance but the ocean over shadows any noise. We stayed 6 nights. Had to move after the first night as we were placed in smoking section of hotel when we specifically requested nonsmoking. (the resort will make you sign a contract for $250 if you smoke in their nonsmoking rooms, for a cleaning fee.) We cheerfully moved when they offered us a free breakfast for 2 for the inconvenience of moving. There are bugs. My husband and I have several bite marks from leaving our patio door open in January but it was worth it to be lulled to sleep by the ocean. We were on the 6th floor and also had it sprayed but must have been the time of year for no-see-ums.. Our room had a refridgerator so we stocked up on rum, breakfast supplies and easy snacks. We were also charged with a $20 a day resort fee which we were not expecting, but we took full advantage of the towels, snorkeling gear, wifi, and office fax and copying service. This hotel is wonderful if you want to get away from it all. Don't come here if you want the disco of Waikiki. Come here if you really want a get away from it all ,quiet wonderful relaxing experience. We ate several meals at Ted's bakery , sunset beach, a 5 mile drive. I swam with a seaturtle while snorkeling and saw tons of whales on our last day! ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!!!!

My husband and I really loved this hotel. I am so paranoid about cleanliness in hotels so we were really nervous about booking online. But it is a very clean hotel and the housekeeping staff did a perfect job. They even left cookies and chocolates on our pillows on some nights. The pools are really great too; one has a waterfall and a slide. The ocean is right by the hotel and it is very calm (at least when we went in May) because it is kind of blocked by some coral and rocks. But there are plenty of beaches close by with big waves that we drove to. My advice would be to bring plenty of money. The hotel breakfast buffet cost us 60 each morning with tip. The restaurants on the resort are very expensive and Waikiki and Honolulu are about an hour away. We spent a lot of money on gas and food, because we didn't want to stay and eat at the resort everyday. Also, they automatically charge you 400 dollars on a credit card for incidental charges, so make sure you bring a credit card with that amount available. (We didn't end up with any charges though). They don't really give you anything free either. The bottled water is 3.50 in your hotel room and if you forget to return your towel card at the end of your stay, it's 25. And finally, plan to valet each night for 10 unless you want to walk for a mile to the public parking. Overall, this was a great hotel with tasty restaurant selctions, beautiful views, and very clean rooms. But everything is very expensive. However, we would stay again.

The hotel is decieving. When we signed up we thought we were going to get a room on first floor and be able to walk out to ocean from out room. We also thought that we were going to get complementary breakfast but we did'nt. Be careful and read closely. Make sure what you are signing up for and what you are paying for! The hotel room when we first got there was dirty, hair all over bathroom. I rate the rooms in hotel probably a 3 star. The location of the hotel is breathtaking and beautifull! Great for a quiet romantic getaway for a couple. If you have kids and are planning on doing activities I found that every day that we were there we were traveling to the south side of the island to do things. It did'nt make much sence for us to stay all the way at the north shore, it takes time to travel to activities. If I were to go to Oahu again I would stay closer to the South side of the Island. The staff at turtle bay are all very nice and the property is beautifull! It is an Ideal location for a quiet restfull getaway.

Great location, right at the beach. All conveniences. Room had room for, but was lacking a couch. This was a deluxe room. Sort of silly. Great place, other than the obvious absence of a couch in a room obviously large enough to have one, and also a few pieces of the work-out equipment wanting some maintenance/lubrication (common to most hotel gyms, this was a most perfect place. We would go back in a heartbeat, and would recommend to anyone. In fact, we already have. Great people, beds, foods, phenomenal location.
