Directions from Dublin Airport.On leaving the airport, take the main road out towards Dublin City.Then take the exit for M50, Southbound. Stay in the left hand lane, and watch for the Tallaght exit (about the 4th major exit off the M50)When you take this exit, follow the roundabout around, and take the N81 (Blessington) exit.Continue driving on the N81 (about 15 miles), you will come into Blessington Village.Continue through the village, and follow the road down into Poulaphouca.You will come to a very bad bend in the road, take the road very slowly and follow the bend. You will see Tulfarris signposted about 100 metres from this bend, on the left hand side,Take this turn, and continue to the top of the road. Turn left, and follow the road until you come to the next left turn. Take this turn, and you will find Tulfarris located about 1 km down on the left hand side of the road.

Excellent hotel - Poor breakfast serviceThis was an excellent value hotel break. The service at reception was friendly and efficient and the room and hotel bar was very welcoming. The room was large, very clean and modern with a huge comfortable bed. The bathroom was big and the only drawback was the lack of a bath (shower only).However the whole experience was somewhat let own by our experience at breakfast. There appeared to be a lack of staff as no one was there to show you to your seat. We had to fend for ourselves and as the breakfast was self service, we helped ourselves to juice and cereal. The problem was that no one appeared to offer tea or coffee and when we asked for this, the staff member seemed to be surprised at this request.The staff on duty appeared busy but not over so and we were surprised by the lack of service.

Fantastic!We arrived at the resort quite late on, but we were received with a warm welcome and we were told food was still available which was a bonus. The whole resort was fantastic and the room was amazing. I loved it. I will agree with previous reviewers, it isn't signposted, in fact I only saw two signs for the resort and one was on the gate post. Could be better posted but hopefully if you are reading this, you'll take note and get good directions. All in all, this was a gorgeous hotel, rooms and breakfast were brilliant and I couldn't find fault.

Oxegen Festival Hotel?Stayed here at the last minute for the Oxegen festival. As we are a bit older! we don't do the camping thing so if you are looking for a bit of luxury at an amazing price stay here. It was really easy to get taxis to and from the concert (only 7km). Staff brilliant and room (pure luxury -think velvets aka Malmaison), surroundings and breakfast first class. My friend and I are each planning to return with our families on another occasion as it is a hidden gem and the scenic area deserves a further visit.

Hotel is about 40 mins off the M50, a little hard to find. Excellent location for me as I had business in that area, although I would say it is definitely more suited to leisure travel. The views from the hotel are spectacular. The rooms are good, the food was good, just as well because there isn't much else around there and the service was excellent. Breakfast couldn't be faulted, no one does a full english like the Irish. All in all a very pleasant stay...

Fabulous setting, great staff!We stayed at this hotel on the way back to Dublin. Service was excellent; we arrived late and although we were pushing it for dinner, we were welcomed into the restaurant, a light airy room with huge windows overlooking the grounds and lake. Dinner was expensive though: 45 Euros for 3 courses and I'm afraid the quality wasn't up to it; this may have something to do with the fact the head chef had injured himself, however, my entire main course was burnt and might just as well have been barbecued; that went for the meat, the sweet potatoes and the vegetable side. When I pointed out the potatoes to the manager, they were quickly replaced. As an apology, the manager explained that they had been cooked earlier that afternoon and had all suffered the same fate. Should have been thrown away in my view. We had a smashing room and although we didn't have a lake view, it was still lovely. Our only gripe was that the bathroom floor was too hot to stand on and despite turning the heating off, it was still very warm the following morning. Breakfast was a little disappointing, no frills there and despite the room rate being reasonable, our bill for one night was a hefty 220 Euros, largely down to the dinner. Would I recommend it? Despite the cost, yes! It has a fabulous setting; and if you play golf, I can't imagine a more lovely place to play.
