A useful base from which to exploreThe location is central and within easy walking distance of lots of lovely cafes and bars as well as the more touristy Irish/Australian/Celtic pubs which surround it. It's also a two second walk from the Metro. Getting an upgrade was definitely a bonus. The location was the best part. Negatives were a shower that was impossible to use without flooding the bathroom, and the noise from the surrounding bars on the Saturday night (falling asleep to a beating bass was not idea). But the staff were friendly and helpful and the room itself was fine.

Excellent valueVery good value @£65 a night, excellent location next to metro Station, Grande Boulavard. Walk took 35 mins from Gare du nord and easy to find. Good place to breakfast opposite at 2 to 5 euros for coffee, french pastry and orange juice. Down Rue Vivienne to Royal Palace for lovely garden to sit in and relax next to fountain. Fairly small but clean room all you need to stay a night or two.

The room was small but clean, and the bathroom excellent. When we received our bill we had been charged again, having already paid via Laterooms. However, it was easily rectified. There is a metro station right outside the door of the hotel which is extremely convenient. Breakfast was comprehensive but rather expensive at 19 euros pp or 12.50 if you have it every morning

Satisfactory hotel for short break in ParisHotel room was fairly basic but expected given the hotels 3 Star rating. Room was clean & comfortable, however sadly lacked any tea/coffee making facilities.Given reports we had read before going re. other hotels in Paris I think Tryp Francois was a safe bet, considering the price also. Hotel staff were very friendly and room was cleaned well each day with a fresh supply of towels.

Good location for sightseeing, but beds were very hard.

The hotel was easy to find and accessible from the station (Gard du Nord) and Paris attractions. Having booked a superior room we did expect it to be a little larger - the beds were, but it left little space for anything else. There were no drawers and therefore clothes storage difficult for 4 nights. Also we were promised robe and slippers, we anticipated one each not one between us. Also the one we had was removed on the 3rd day!when the light in the toilet failed it was repaired prompty.We didn't eat at the hotel.
