No frills hotel. Met the standard criteria. Did not provide any personal hygeine items and was limited on clean towels.

The Tropicana is one on the best locations on the strip with walkways to MGM and Excaliber and New York New York you are next to a large amount of things to do. It was perfect for our budget b/c we wanted low cost but nice room so our money could be spent in Vegas not on where we spent the least of our time. The room was nice and clean. Ok view. Cheap Blackjack and awesome dealers. Fun slots but not so overwhelming as some on the other casnios are for 1st or 2nd time visiters. I plan to stay here again the only thing I would change is the carpet. It does need some upgrade but some of the lack of upgrade lends more to the Tropicana's old time charm.

Enjoyed the pool, gambled, walked the strip, had a car and drove downtown and went to shopping mall, China Town, went to a magic show, enjoyed buffet.

Hotel was pretty nice. Good location. Room AND bed were nice and comfy. Pool was nice, but indoor pool was out of order:( Fitness facility was wonderful. Signs from Paradise Tower to the pool and fitness center were not the greatest. We had to keep looking around for another sign:( The main complaint about the Tropicana was not having a fast food restaurant or a Starbucks on site:( Otherwise was a very nice place to stay:)

the first night we chose to stay in the garden rooms not the cleanest and run down the air did not work and the rug became wet probably from the broken air. after telling the manager they changed our room to a very nice room with air that was working good and we had a wonderful view of new york- new york. the pool was clean and mostly everyone was very helpful. i would stay again but in the terrace rooms

Check in process was quick and easy. Taking my son to Vegas for his 21st B-Day. We were to have two queen beds "or" King bed and a couch bed. First Room: had King Bed only... Offered a roll away bed that was much too short for either my son or me to sleep on. Second Room: After a call to Orbitz a room with a King Bed and Sofa Bed located. Moved to new room, went to see the sights of Vegas and arrived back in our room at 1:45 in the morning. My son opened the sofa bed and sat to remove his shoes. Upon sitting on the couch bed, he fell to the floor. There were no springs attached to the bottom 1/3 of the bed. He ended up taking the mattress off the couch bed and sleeping on the floor Third Room, The next morning after a trip to the desk manager and an explanation that my son had "fallen thorough the bed and slept on the floor" they were able to find a room with two queen beds. So after one sleep on the floor night and three room changes we were able to finally have room with the minimum standards as promised in the Orbitz contract. Although staff was quite nice, the rooms and furniture in this hotel are quite old and very much in need of repair. This hotel is currently under construction and may be better in the future; at this point in time I would avoid booking rooms at this location. I will give credit to managment for waiving the "resort" fee that was to be paid above and beyond the nightly fee paid for the room. Would have liked them to waive the first night fee as well. One should not have to pay to sleep on the floor of a hotel booked through Orbitz

Hotel is definiely getting very old. The matress was cardboard-like and the safe in my room didn't work. Carpet and wallpaper are also very outdated. Other than that I got a good rate and the location is great.

Nothing fancy. The carpet is pink and green and has wrinkles all over it - probably hasn't been clean since it was installed in the 50s. We had to use a slightly sketchy elevator. Our room was quite large. Pros: Hangers in the closet and an ironing board, a safe, and a small dining room table, fan control and temp control. Cons: Fluorescent lighting wasn't the most flattering but no lamp in the room which made it a little hard to do make-up, and our hairdryer didn't work. I'm sure that we could have gotten a new room, but it wasn't important to us so we didn't even bother to ask. The room was clean, no obvious neglect, but you could see some sort of wire cables from the TV to the outlet, and a blanket had a small 4"x4" patch. View was of a roof and some large vent pipes. We did love the pool. It was large enough to accommodate all types of vacationers, had volleyball, and indoor section, and a separate small adult pool. Staff was available to help you move chairs if you needed. There was also a nearby grassy area. The cocktail waitresses were great, they worked hard and were friendly and prompt with service. Lots of drinks on their menu but not a ton of food. We had beer & apps at Japanese steakhouse - very good but pricey. Garden Cafe had a great salad, but we took it to-go and ate at the pool instead! Location is great, we walked to NY, NY and MGM every day. Overall, fine for a getaway if you're budget conscious.

It was a turn-around trip for a bachelorette party. We just needed a place to stay for one night. The first lady I spoke to at the front desk was very helpful, but I did encounter a rude hotel staff when I told him that we had requested for a non-smoking room and the room with got had ashtrays and smelled more like a smoking room. He was very rude and said the room we got was non-smoking and that everybody smokes...there is nothing we can do about since there were no other rooms available. The standard room we booked was very small for three girls therefore, we upgraded to a mini-suite. It was a much better room compared to the standard room and not much of a price difference.

I always stay here as the employees are friendly, its located in a fantastic spot, and it is reasonably priced. Only wish there was a better way to get to the tower rooms from the front desk as the trip is a mile long through a smoky casino, this is definately the worst part of the facility. Get a moving walkway, this is ridiculous...

I would not stay at the Tropicana in the future. It really appears that nothing is being done to maintain the property. Carpet is bunched and rippled in many areas. Very strange odors in the walkway between the casino and our room in the Tower. The escalators were not working while we were there. The room decor is sadly outdated. The A/C in our room, our hallway very inadequate. It was a good price but would have gladly paid more money to have a better experience.

We got the upgrade for the Paradise Tower room (as we were warned the garden rooms are 'old') - the room was ok only disappointing thing was no coffee maker! They made it so that you have to buy your coffee from a little coffee shop or in the restaurants. The buffet was ok - might was well save that money to go to a good buffet when in Vegas. The pool area was nice. The Casino was good but the waitresses don't come around often enough. The mixed drinks are weak - stick with beer and wine. The card dealers were ok - not the most lively I experienced but for the most part nice.

It was okay, although my door was not super secure. And the maids in the morning came way too early and opened the door almost immediately after knocking!

The hotel was in a great location on the strip. The price was excellent value and the staff were very friendly. It does need a face lift as it's starting to show it's age. I would stay there again and have no problem recommending it to my friends. Viva Las Vegas!

I wouldn't recommend staying at the Tropicana to my worst enemy. The Garden rooms are old, filthy and worse than any Motel 6. They charge you an extra $10 per night if you want a garden view (as opposed to a parking lot view), they charge an $8 per night resort fee for things like the phone and the pool, which everyone else includes in the standard price. There are multiple entrances to the room hallways from the parking lots which are supposed to be locked unless you have a room key, but never are. The shower is dirty and moldy and the shower head hits you at about mid-chest. Oh, and don't think there is free internet. It costs about $11 per day. By the time you get through with the extra fees, you might as well have stayed in a nice hotel. The front desk personnel are friendly. During the 5 days we were there, we never saw more than half the escalators operational.

First, the Tropicana is old by Las Vegas standards, and a little worn. However, the rooms are very clean and a great value when compared to the newer mega-casino resorts. In fact, it's probably the best value on the Strip -- very strategically located. Nothing is cheap in Vegas anymore, but the restaurants offered substantial value for mediocre food. The front desk clerk was extremely helpful, as was the majority of the staff. The Tahiti Village timeshare agents were irritating -- I really resent having to "avoid" hucksters in the hotel where I'm staying. Entertainment, as always, is the Folies Bergere-- reliable and affordable. Bottom line -- you can spend **a night at the Venetian, etc., or get a comfortable room at the Tropicana and "invest" the savings on food, shows and gambling. I'll take the Trop.
