Polite staff, good restaurant recommendations, very close to all we wanted to visit.

Dirty and old. I think this hotel, could use a lesson in cleanliness and just general maintenance. They still had Easter Decorations Out. Please don't call that a continental breakfast.

The room was clean and worked well and the location is great, but here is no room service and no coffee or hot water for tea in the room. The people at the front desk were wonderfull and very helpful.

The Tremont is an awesome location - close to Michigan Ave and all sorts of shopping and dining. It is also within blocks of the El. The hotel is just a place to sleep - the rooms are small, the bathrooms are small and dated too. Their is no breakfast, coffee, internet, cable tv, etc.

The location was amazing. Just off magnificent mile. We were able to walk to everything. Also very close to the subway for longer trips to Grant Park, Wrigley, etc. The staff was friendly and for the price this is the best location and place to stay. We arrived early and our room was already ready. The smoke detector went off in the middle of the night in the hallway and it took quite awhile to get it fixed and the elevators were incredibly slow, but other than that a great hotel.

Great location, nice lobby, good bed. Room needs renovations (paint and around the bath). The hotel is an older building (this is part of the charm) well located close to the Magnificent Mile. The lobby and general room at the first floor with a fireplace and piano has some charm. Our room was small but the mattress was good. If they could a little money on paint and bathroom renovations, it would be great. But in general for the price paid it was a bargain.

The Tremont Hotel in downtown Chicago is conveniently located to Chicago sites. The hotel staff was very helpful, and being a smaller hotel, there was less hustle-and-bustle in the lobby and restaurant. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The only negative was the limited number of television channels available. The complimentary WI-FI was a plus.

My husband and I have stayed a half a dozen times in Chicago for a night away and this by far was the worst hotel we have stayed in. We checked into a hotel with a great location and the Ditka restaurant attached to it was fabulous but it went downhill from there. Our room did not have a remote control but we soon found out that the cable was out as well. They did offer one free movie. We did order the free movie but found in the first 5 minutes the movie was not what we wanted to watch so we called down to the night staff and he was rude and accused us of already asking to switch movies (which we had not - we just got in from dinner) and basically hung up on us. The room smelled, our bathroom lights only worked at the mirror so we had to take a shower in teh dark as well. It had a great location but that is all we liked. Compared to other hotels we have stayed in for the same price, this was not a good experience. You can get a much better room and hotel for the same price along the Mag. Mile so keep on looking!

The location was very nice, right in the middle of the city. The building was older, but the rooms were in good shape. There was only one slow elevator and the continental breakfast left something to be desired. For the price, I think I got what I paid for. We were able to check in early because our room was ready, which was very nice.

Included breakfast was good. The hotel could do with a paint in the rooms.

The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. the rooms were reasonably clean, but it has been a long time since this hotel has been updated. The first time I stayed here 20 years ago it was pretty nice, now it needs updating. I know it is a small old hotel but it is in a great location and if it was updated it would be great. It is not bad, do not get me wrong, but it is showing it's age. I would stay here again because of the staff and the location.

Great location. Hotel in need of repair. AC system did not work for part of stay. elevator broken for part of stay. TV did not work for all of stay. (not that we would watch it much but it would have been nice to be sable to see the weather.)

This hotel is a little gem and needs only a little bit of TLC to bring it up to a much greater level. The staff was terrific and the room was quiet. It is located a block off Michigan Avenue and was very convenient to just about everything.

Perfect location. No coffeemaker. Pleasantly surprised. Didn't know what to expect based on some of the reviews. Our room/bathroom was large and nice even though it wasn't one of the remodeled rooms. Comfortable bed. Great price through Priceline. What a surprise to receive tokens for continental breakfast at Mike Ditka's. Had appetizers and drinks at Ditka's upstairs. Fun. Would have liked a coffeemaker in room. Even better a small refrigerator/microwave. Staff was very friendly and helpful; can also print out your boarding passes.

tHE ROOMS WERE NICE SIZES AND ANTIQUATED. nOT MEANT FOR OLDER PEOPLE. THE ENTRY DOORS TO THE ROOMS WERE VERY HEAVY. THE STAFF COULDN'T BE GREATER. THE SURROUNDINGS WERE VERY CLEAN. THE LOCATION WAS RIGHT ACROSS FROM THE WATER TOWER. WE WERE VERY HAPPY WITH THE PRICE AND THE ACCOMODATIONS

Great location, walking distance from shopping and lots of restaurants & bars. No in room coffee, ran out of coffee in the lobby twice during our stay. No room service. No bar in the hotel. Elevator really slow and broke down once for a couple of hours. Older hotel with average amenities, small bathroom. Ditka's restaurant right next door great to have so close.

Shocked this is a Starwood property. Room 402: peeling wallpaper, very small room, loose electrical faceplates hanging off the wall, grungy looking vents in ceiling held in place by just a few screws (with several screw holes simply empty), ancient shower hardware, live bug in bathroom, antiquated thermostat, hallways kept very cold, elevators very slow (wood paneling in them had lots of scratches), very limited tv stations, no refrigerator (and certainly no honor bar).......all this for $** a night, plus tax. Tremont was able to charge this much due to large convention being in town. I would not recommend this place to anybody. Once a landmark, classy Chicago hotel, it's now a disaster. It needs a massive renovation, or it will not (and should not) last

We needed a hotel near Michigan avenue that was nice but reasonable. This hotel was just the ticket. An older classic hotel, pleasant enough for a quick stay. If you like a firm bed this is also the place to be. I would have preferred a softer bed.
