Nice little country bolt-holeI stayed one night at Trehellas for a visit to a business in Bodmin. It was a very welcoming place, nice and clean, with the air of an old country pub still retaining the olde-worlde charm whilst being updated to a modern standard. I had a single, with just a shower room which was a bit of a shame as I'd been looking forward to a long soak since Hampshire! I did ask about another room but they were fully booked. Nevertheless, it was clean and tidy with country-style furnishings, slightly dated but not shabby. The other guests seemed to be mostly of an older generation, maybe it would suit them better. I ate at the restaurant which although having a promising menu and good reputation was merely ok, a good selection of fresh fish and local produce but my meal was a little bland although cooked well. Breakfast was better with smoked haddock and poached eggs among the usual b&b fare. All in all it was great value for money and a lovely location and staff, but nothing outstanding.

What a Gem!I have stayed in quite a few hotels around this area, and am delighted to have stayed here. The owners and the staff are really pleasant and helpful, and the food is wonderful. Mysingle room faced the road, which is busy, and could be problem for some, but that was the only downside. I would certainly recommend it to friends, and I will definitely stay here again.

Business trip to BodminI needed a hotel close to Bodmin town to undertake three days work in the town. Using LateRooms mileage chart I choose this hotel on accessand then price. I arrived later than expected due to road works but was greeted with a warm welcome and a very good upgraded double room. However, when I informed them that I had to leave at 06.00 each morning they suggested that I move to a room which would be quieter to other guests when I got up. This new room was the Courtroom Suite! I have lived in smaller flats than this room! As I had to leave early I asked for a continental breakfast at 06.00. This was arranged and supplied with no fuss. Early start meant early finish so I was back at the hotel at 15.00 daily. However, the access to free very fast wireless broadband internet meant I could keep up with work while away from the office. Overall I will definately use this hotel again if I have to work within 20 miles of this hotel. It will be worth the traveling. A+

I cannot fault this lovely hotel. Charming accomodation, execellent food and fantastic, friendly service. Its location makes it really ideal for visiting the area as both north and south coasts can be reached easily. The breakfasts were a delight - such quality ingredients and so beautifully cooked. The dinner menu changed every night and included the very best local fish.

A little bit of ClassThe hotel is 'old English service', the owners are very visible and, they are all the staff take care to ensure guests are well looked after. The menu is fish based and the Crab dish is recommended, although the dishes are very rich. Nothing is too much trouble. An excellent venue for a short break, but not for children.

Thoroughly enjoyableThoroughly enjoyed our night here. Very quiet and tranquil situation. All staff very warm and welcoming. Room was a little small but not a problem for one night and was spotlessly clean, very comfortable bed and loved the fudge and biscuits on the tea tray. Decided to have a meal in the restaurant and what a good decision that was! The ambience and quality of food were just perfect. Could happily have stayed several nights there.

Wonderfully relaxing! The room and the service we received were absolutely perfect. Everything was very relaxed and we both thoroughly enjoyed our stay. My only critisism would be with the food. It was lovely that so much of it was locally sourced, but I did find the cooked breakfast was very fatty and I was unable to eat most of it. We didn't eat there in the evening, so unsure what that menu was like, but would have prefered a healthier option.

short stayI booked only a week or so before the stay for two nights internding to move on.. but the hotel position was so central and accomodation clean with hospitable hoteliers that I requested a further two nights stay. Luckily they were able to 'sqeeze' us in as they were almost fully booked! A very enjoyable stay and have no hesitation in staying again and recommending to anyone. Bob
