Driving from the airport From Dublin Airport,take the M1 following signs for the city centre. When you come onto the M1, stay in the left hand lane, and take the exit for M50 (approx 1km). At this roundabout, take the exit for M50 southbound.Continue Southbound, passing through the Toll Bridge and drive until you see the exit for TallaghtTemplelogue (N81). Take this exit, and drive towards Templeogue. Go straight through Templeogue and into Terenure Village. Go straight through the crossroads and continue into Rathgar village. Follow the main road down into a T-Junction, you will see Rathmines Post Office directly in front of you. Follow the road around to the left. The Travelodge Dublin City Rathmines is located in the centre of the village on the right hand side.Public Transport from the Airport: Take the Air coach bus from Dublin Airport to the city centre, get off the bus on O'Connell Street. You can then take a bus from Fleet Street (Temple Bar) to Rathmines. The bus numbers are 14, 14A, 15, 15A or from Dawson Street (right hand side of Trinity College) bus numbers 14, 14A, 15, 15A

Reception were pleasant enough if you asked them a question, but ignored you otherwise. Location 'Rathmines Village' (on Travelodge own website) is a bit of a misnomer - not much authenticity here - more like Kentucky Fried and Tesco land. Bit rough at night though bus stop right beside hotel entrance, so it was fine - wouldn't recommend for woman travelling alone.

last minute Travelodge? I'm thinking again next time...Probably the worst Travelodge I have stayed in to date...quieter than the others around the country, but given th extortionate €6.00 overnight car-park charge and a bog standard room without a kettle or toiletries, definitely not likely to feature on my list next time I'm caught out last minute....

Cheap and CheerfulThis hotel is fine. Not great, but not awful. About 1.5-2 miles south of Temple Bar, so a good trek into the heart of the city. We didn't mind this, but the info on the hotel's site is a bit deceiving as it appears closer than that. Good bus connections, however, if you're not a walker. Otherwise, very basic, but acceptable. No restaurant while we stayed, hence ridiculously cheap. But plenty nearby - you wouldn't go hungry. Check out the Portobello pub - very nice.

Nice room, good priceRoom was fine, price was good, had to pay 10 euro's for early check in but did not mind as late room price was only 29 euro per night. Did not eat there so cannot rate food. Rathmines is a nice vibey little village, 20 mins walk to town, or bus smack outside the front door.

Initally the receptionist on duty when we arrived was rather rude due to a mix up with late rooms.com and i was very disappointed with her attitude

RathminesLocation of hotel is good with bus stop outside. It is a 15 minute walk to St.Peters Green.Accomodation is ok if you just need a place to sleep. There are some good places to eat outside the hotel. The hamburger place is great but is very busy so unless you book you need to eat either early or late.

we were on a vacation and we found the room nice and surprisingly big. was clean, but you know, it was obvious that was used quite a lot before us.but it was good value of our money.it was strange , that we had only two tea bags and coffee for two days, they probabaly count them :)any way it was nice, at least i liked it.

Situated approx 15 mins walk from Dublin city centre, with excellent public transport facilities right outside on the door step of the hotel. A lovely area, with such a good range of takeaways, cafe bars, bars and shops to choose from. A safe area with no groups of youths or drunks hanging around in the evening to worry about. Hotel was very clean and staff very helpful and good value for money. Next time we travel to Dublin we will once again be staying at Travelodge Rathmines.

A distance from the train station yet very central to most amenities. Library acoss the road, convenience store next door, and bus stop across the road to the station. This hotel had a comfortable bed, and it was reasonably quiet despite the busy street.

I did not sample the food at this hotel. The breakfast was a tad expensive for my Aussie dollar conversion mentality so I went next door to the supermarket to get supplies regularly. The hotel was on the other side of town to the train station but there was a bus stop right outside and plenty of access to amenities nearby, including the essential public library for internet research. The bed was very comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to others.

Decent clean accommodations at walking distance from St Stephen's Green, at a good price. Also, there are some very good eateries close by in Rathmines too. Whats not to like?

Easy to get to. Parking can be reserved in advance which was a relief. Better than UK Travelodge in my experience.

Great hotel in a great location, only 5 mins from Dublin city centre, however not many parking spaces so best to ring them in advance if you need one

Hotel good value for money and staff helpful and friendly. Lack of hotel car park a major disincentive. Choice of feed the parking meter after midnight or before 7am. I would recommend the hotel but would ensure that it was known that car parking is an issue.

Hotel was a basic accomodation but was near to all shops and there was few pubs on walk down to city centre that were really nice and friendly.

toilet roll holder and shower door were hanging off very poor car parking system only had 1 fob key and on checking out had to wait ages for someone to return with it before we could get our car it must have been at least 20 mins and ended up missing the ferry home and had to pay out again for a later one that day so are stay at this hotel worked out very expensive

Good value for dublin. Great location to sample this vibrant suburb as well as town centre - 1 euro/10 mins on the bus to town centre or lots of cafes/bars/restaurants on the doorstep
