If you're looking for the best price just to lay your head down for a few hours, this is it. Everything in the room worked fine and the staff were accommodating. Several eating establishments nearby. It's just an average, no frills motel, designed for the price conscious

Aplace to sleep. Dirty shower and bed. Horrible.

The hotel room was adequate for our needs. The check-in process was smooth. The service was good. The morning breakfast was good.

After reading some of the other reviews, I was very worried. We booked it anyhow. The hotel is definitely older, but it was nice. It was clean, and the staff was friendly. The pool was warm and very inviting. the room was clean and comfortable. We were there two nights and I would not hesitate to go back. For the money, you couldn't beat it!

The room was very nice. Limited seating for continental breakfast. Most important: The price was right!

I liked the price of the hotel, it was very reasonable. I thought the staff was very friendly too. The bed was to hard, but most hotel beds are anyway. I had a great stay. The staff was friendly and willing to work with me as far as price if I stayed for a longer period. I was happy with the room and would stay there again if I travel to the area again.

This is an old motel and there are signs of upgrades but on a low budget. Room was clean and for the money, fine for a crash for one night. My son and I were headed to Martinsville and it was one of those late arrivals and early departures. For that it was fine. For a family stay, not so good.

The room's toilet was ready to fall over, we woke in the night to a rat in the room, & in the morning, despite a ""do not disturb"" sign written in multiple languages, housekeeper entered all the way to the bathroom before announcing & realizing it was occupied even with clothing & belongings scattered about & the TV on. Front desk apologized for new non-english speaking help. Overall, not an impressive stay, but if you're on a budget & can deal with rats - have fun!

GREAT BREAKFAST (but no fruit). The staff was nice but the facilities were very old and not very well kept (not enough staff-lack of detail when it came to cleaning)... they do take dogs (I left mine at home but all other hotel guests with dogs did not clean up after their pets in the small children's play area/dog area and if you have kids that stinks!!!
Date of Stay:
July, 2008
Nothing. It seemed like 50 year old accommodations. The rooms were small and uncomfortable. The breakfast had what seemed like 2 day old doughnuts and cereal. That was all. We think we left something in the room, but it was never turned in by the cleaning staff. Just a really poor quality place.

October, 2006
if you choose to stay here, request a renovated room, they have 30 with new walls, carpet and bathrooms, that made it not as bad, the mattresses looked old and colors were ugly, but not bad for the price

Low cost but low quaility. There was no HBO! But many places to eat within walkin distance of the hotel. Not too bad for a 1 or 2 night stay.

Not much. Did have wireless internet. Poor matresses. very poor bath equipment. Dirty bathroom floor, Soap was not wrapped in paper covering. Breakfast was poorly prepared. I do not recommend this motel to anyone and will not return.

This was the nastiest roach motel ever. Unfortunately, I had no choice, but to stay here. I had to go to the Walmart and buy cleaning products before I would take a shower(I still put a towel down), slept fully clothed. This was disgusting.

If you are looking for a place to lay your head for the nite it is ok. You get what you pay for. Was off the main road and no signs to direct you so found by trial and error. Heard a lot of the outside noise which caused us to wake several times during the nite. Our heater quite working the second nite. When I told the front desk during check out the woman just kept saying I was OK. Did like the fact it had a small refrigerater, coffee pot and hair dryer. Several good low priced resturants within walking distance.

Nothing. Dirty, run down, mildew smell, no privacy unsafe location. This hotel was in the middle of no where. Drove right by it twice. The second time after getting directions from a local. Bed had stains on it. My wife slept in her clothes and would not take a shower due to mildew in tub. Everything was old. One inch gap between door and floor. Floor was wood and creaked badly.
Date of Stay:
September, 2006
Like one of the other reviews, our room was, to say the least, lacking. There was mildew on the walls, paint on the floor and furniture, paint chips in the air conditioner. There was no modem as advertised. There was no trash can in the room and we had to ask for one. Missed the sign and had to turn around to go back. Needless to say, it was obvious this hotel was in the midst of major renovations so everything was lacking. We will not stay there again.

The Travelodge was allright. I was glad we checked in during the day because it was kind of hard to find. Once inside the room, I was pleased to find 2 chairs and a table. The beds were not very comfortable. Other than that, it was an ok place to stay the night before the Martinsville race.
Date of Stay:
March, 2008
The location was very good, off the highway. The hotel was ok , for the price. and very easy to locate. It is in a very good area right of the main highway. The TV could have been larger, I would stay there again if am in the area.
Date of Stay:
October, 2008
The staff at the motel was very friendly. The motel was in great condition, and was in a great location to I-81. The motel had a lot of dining options in the area. Very close and economical stay close to Roanoke!
