We arrived very late and the front desk agent was able to check us in very quickly, so we could get to sleep. Morning breakfast was delicious as well.

We arrived and checked in. The desk clerk keyed the room with the plastic cards. We drove to the parking area by the room and parked. There were several men in the parking lot. As I got out of the car one approached me and said here these are your keys and took the ones I had. My husband and I then returned to the office and the clerk was not aware of the man offering new keys. Then she got the manager. I told him this was a safety issue and we were not staying the night. He only tried to convince me to stay. He did not check out the men in the parking lot nor did he call the police. My husband and I left without a refund.

A small budget hotel with good service & staff. I stayed at this hotel for 3 days in May 08 & would recommend it wholeheartedly for the traveller on a budget . Some 3 miles from the beach & pier it is however easy to travel to & from with a regular bus service across the road to downtown for just 75 cents & a taxi for some 12 dollars. Plenty of parking.

For the price of this hotel, it was a wonderful place to stay. Clean rooms, quiet, close to the beach, airport, Universal Studios, Hollywood, etc. The desk clerks were helpful in printing us a map of all the local diners & directions to & from certain places. We arrived early (before normal check in time) and we planned to drop off our luggage in the room & head to Universal Studios right away. Since our room wasn't ready, they offered to place our luggage in the back office & they would bring it up to our rooms for us when it was ready, this way we didn't have to leave it in the vehicle & worry about it being stolen. We didn't use the pool/spa but we walked by the area & it seemed nice. Our room included a flat screen TV, microwave & refrigerator (which came in hadny). My next trip to Santa Monica will be booked at this hotel.

just a great location close to the beach

Because of the location, I was surprised with the upscale decor. Parking. Granite (or at least granite looking) counter top in room and reception area. Friendly welcome even though we came in after midnight. They let us have a parking space that was marked reserved, because we felt it was safer than parking on the streets. Had all the amenities that we could ask for. I would stay there again.

This small hotel was very friendly, clean, and convienent. The morning breakfast was just right. The best part was the clean room, the friendly staff and a very safety concious staff. They did not speak the room number out loud as they handed me the key. While the room was small, it was just right for a single traveler. The TV was huge! Never watched a flat screen before.

The Travelodge was one of the cheapest hotels we could find, which is why we chose it. It was a good hotel for the price! They have a little breakfast every morning, and cookies throughout the day. The room was decent-sized, the air conditioning worked great, and it was clean. It's close to a bunch of bus stops which take you all around Santa Monica, though I still ended up walking more than I ever had in my entire life. The area is very residential and quiet, but it's a major street so in terms of local convenience it was acceptable. Overall, I would've liked a location closer to the beach, but this was well worth the price!

Continental breakfast was fresh, location was very good. We were assigned a corner room on bottom floor with very loud guests upstairs. We were put in a first floor rear corner room and had very loud people above us who danced and played loud music until well after 2 a.m. on a Sunday night. Two calls to the front desk did nothing to alleviate the problem.

The hotel is very well taken care of. I had a huge flat panel TV in my room. I got lost in LA at 4 am and did not know how to get back to the hotel. I called them and they helped me find out where I was and sent a taxi to come an get me. Hands down the best hotel staff that I have ever seen. You can ask them any questions and they are more than happy to assist you. The hotel is in walking distance of a Trader Joes so you can always go grab some food if you are stuck in the hotel doing some work.

The Santa Monica Travelodge was convenient to a business appointment I had in Century City, at half the price of Century City hotels. Parking was included, which has been a nasty lesson to learn in the past from other hotels in the area. Although the rooms were close to the street, they were quiet and safe.

Professional, helpful, friendly staff. Clean. Short on washcloths (& they admited that to us after we had to ask them). Hotel was about 3.5 miles from my weekend destination. I would recommend it for the part of Santa Monica it was in. Parking was tight, but available. Clean, friendly professional staff. I was pleasantly surprised for a Travelodge. I normally steer clear of Travelodge motels. This was an exception. Worked fine.

Clean. Room not cleaned one day had to ask for towels at least! Chose and paid for room with microwave when we arrived, given room without microwave--told I could use microwave in breakfast room-tried to use first morning but microwave removed from breakfast room during breakfast service!

This little jewel of a hotel is in a perfect place and convenient for all amenities in the area. It is clean and well maintained in general. The staff are professional and I always try to get a room there if possible when I am in Santa Monica.

Great location, small rooms but just fine, free internet and parking. Small room. This motel is a very affordable option for a visit to Santa Monica and the Westside. Neighborhood is safe and quiet; rooms small but perfectly fine; free internet.

Clean and friendly. Hard beds, noisy, no tub and no room for breakfast. This was an older hotel that has been partially remodeled. Bathroom only has shower and toilet, sink was cramped in the corner of the room. Staff was very prompt, friendly and courteous.

I liked the continental breakfast, the freindliness of the staff. This Travelodge offers a reasonably clean, decent place at more a more economic price than most hotels in Santa Monica. Lesser priced hotels would have not been this decent. It's not in a great location, but it's not a horrible one either.

Great staff and great rooms. Bathrooms were too small. I liked the great location. I would recommended to anybody. Our family felt great there that we stayed an extra night. Great Hotel!
