Fantastic deal. Premium bed, full linen covers (NO bedspread!) that were as crisp as the bed was comfortable. Extremely nice and knowledgeable folks at the front desk for both check-in and check-out. The layout of the motel is unique and you can't always get to your room by the shortest route, but not a real problem. The unit is owned by two real people (husband and wife) that are involved and thus responsible for the fine operation I visited and will use again as soon as I can.

Very accmodating with a staff that seems anxious to please. I would stay there again and recommend it to anyone.

The bed was very comfortable and the staff was quite friendly. The bathroom fixtures were old. Parking was in two lots and the upper lot was small.

Liked the fast internet access in room. The hallways were cold. Cozy and comfortable.

We wound up at the Travelogde as they had the last room available in town during MTUs "move in" weekend. First of all the building, like many others in Houghton, is very old. Some of the floors are slanting and creaky. But, the worst of it was the lack of soundproof rooms. Our "neighbors" had a couple of toddlers which were very active. We were woken several times by the sound of child's play. "Thump, thump, thump!" on the floor followed by hollering parents, then screaming children. The layout of the building is odd. There are many entries and we found we never knew which one we were supposed to use. One entry which appeared to be one of the hotel's main entrances was locked in the middle of the day?? We found it difficult to find our way around the building. The rooms were just okay. Again the age of hotel was evident in the doors and cheap scruffy woodwork. The mattresses and bedding appeared clean and up to date. The bathroom was the size of a broom closet and was no place to attempt to dress. The vanity outside the bath was an adequate size. Parking was difficult as space was limited. Since the hotel was completely booked for 2 of the 3 nights we stayed, the small parking lot was full by 8 pm each night. We had to ask where we were supposed to park. We were instructed to park in the city lot which was marked for 2 hr max parking. The receptionist told us it was okay to park there because she "cleared it with the city." If we were ticketed we were suppose to inform her. Hmmm... Fortunately we were not ticketed.

The Travelodge Houghton was in a great location to walk the entire downtown and marina area. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. They gave us many suggestions for sites and resturants in the area. Pets were welcome with a park close by for walking. The continental breakfast was well maintained with a good variety.

Good location to downtown Houghton. Within walking distance to many places. Strange odor in the room. This is a very nice hotel. My one complaint is that its location in downtown Houghton makes it seems somewhat cramped. Narrow halls and steep stairs, not a lot of parking. Also, there was a strange odor in the room. I think it was just a chemical smell from the cleaning. Overall, a very nice hotel. Room was nice size, very clean. Pool and hot tub was very nice. Breakfast was good. I would stay here again.

The hotel iteself is very small, and does not contain many rooms. All rooms directly face the highway, so keep the blinds closed if you don't want the neighbors in town to see you. The room was clean and had all necessary amenities, but there was an unusual smell to the room, possibly some cleaning product used, or something resultant of the age of the building. The pool/hot tub/sauna were nice, and my fellow travelers and I frequented it often. Location is directly in the center of town, which is useful for exploring houghton and avoiding long walks/drives. All in all, the quality was not the best, but considering the price, I think I got what I paid for.

While clean and neat the property shows 30 year age. I would definitey not reccomend to someone that has mobility challenges as the hallways are narrow and the stairs are steep. Its location is very good as it ia located downtown putting it within walking distance of nightlife and dining opportunities.

Pillow beds, pool and spa. The hotel needs to look at the small things, like chipped paint.

Person at desk was very helpful and friendly. The room had a smell to it that I just could not tolerate. It was hard to get through the night. Hotel is friendly place and they try to do everything necessary to make stay nice, but the smell of the room threw me. I had a hard time with the smell. Other than than it was ok.

The beds and linens were fantastic! The hallways appear to be enclosed exterior and were cold. The Travelodge staff was friendly and helpful and the new beds and bed linens were fantastic. For having been remodeled the room was a bit dingy and aged - gold/yellow bathrooms! The open hallways that were enclosed were not completely enclosed so the hallways was quite chilly. The continental breakfast included fresh waffles which is always good. All in all, a decent nights sleep for modest amount of cash.

The pool and sauna. The room needed updating. I was a little disappointed that it wasn't a nicer room, but it was clean and the hotel was right in town with lots to do. The pool was great as well as the hot tub and sauna- very relaxing. I would stay here again despite the needed updates.

Nothing. Everything. The staff was rude, It was an awful experience. We checked in and left right away to go to dinner. We came back to the hotel and went to bed. We were rudely awoken at 4 am by the maintenance guy, the bath tub somehow got turned on and was over flowing all over the place. The maintenance guy accused us of being drunk and intentionally flooding the room. My boyfriend was supposed to race his 4 wheeler the next day so we were not drunk. The maintenance guy then kicked us out on the street at 4:30 am, while still accusing us of flooding the room. It was an awful experience and I do not think we will be returning there. I think the housekeepers need to double check.

The beds were very comfortable! The ironing board was the worst I have ever seen! That thing should of been thrown away! Over satisfied with the hotel.
