Good value but noisy!Delighted to have been able to book somewhere in Galway so cheaply, but we weren't actually able to get much sleep as the hotel is on a main road and was incredibly noisy. Room was clean though and staff very friendly.

We were on vacation and we were enjoying the bed and breakfast experiences in Ireland...but if that is what you are after you won't find it here. However, This was a fine hotel for staying at if you need a cheap place to stay near the city center.

Good value and location for a short stay.Clean, comfortable and convenient. The staff were also very pleasant and helpful. We were doing a short stop over and it was nice to be able to park the car and walk into the heart of Galway and enjoy the town and promenade on a long sunny, summer evening.

This hotel was ok. We had been traveling throughout Ireland and England for 10 days and this was the first place we stayed without a pub within or nearby. There was a restaurant but the prices seemed quite high. The walk into town takes 20 minutes or so and then the magic of Galway takes over! We stayed in a room facing the main street and it was very noisy!

Poor Galway TravelodgeThe location of the hotel is dreary. Outside of the city centre Galway doesn't possess a great deal of charm and the Travelodge is close to a congested roundabout. Costing 198 Euro for a room for two nights, albeit at high summer, represents poor value for money for a hotel that was airless and characterless. I don't expect additional services and luxuries in 'No frills' accommodation but nor do I expect such a soulless environment. That said, holidaying in Ireland is a very expensive business. At least the staff here were pleasant and the breakfast we had (9.50 for 'full Irish') was adequate.

280 euro a night, you must be jokingPleasant walk into Galway about 15 minutes, located just off major roads. Hotel clean, presentable and secured parking. We got what we paid for at 49 euro, would stay there again.

As a traveler, it is a very parctical hotel to stay in, well situated and comfortable. The service is pleasant but, can be slow. The WIFI connection was worse than useless in my room and not much better in reception, which can be very frustrating!

Overall, my experience with Travelodge Galway, Galway was mediocre. I have two main complaints about this hotel.First, the front desk staff were not helpful at all. Any time we had an inquiry as to where to find something in the city, the response we received was always the same: \"Go to city centre, you'll find something there.\" This was especially jarring when we asked for specific recommendations for dinner, a pub, and any sights worth seeing. We expect that hotel staff should have at least a functional knowledge of the city in which they work, and I would suspect that most people would agree that this a reasonable expectation. My second issue is with the information provided by the hotel which serves as the hotel information on the LateRooms site. The description promises \"multi-channel TV.\" While it is multi-channel, it is only just so. Leaving out the music channels, we had four or five channels from which to choose. The description also states that \"WiFi access [is] available in all rooms,\" while omitting that it is not free and is actually quite expensive. The hotel even sells itself short through incomplete information. I am sure many travellers would love to know about the early check-in/late check-out service that the hotel offers; however, it is nowhere to be found. To summarize this point, the information provided by the hotel (and by extention LateRooms) is incomplete and can potentially cause some unwanted surprises for guests to whom either TV or WiFi is important, as WiFi was to me.As the hotel advertises itself as a value hotel, we were not execting royal treatment. We only expected the hotel to deliver on its promises, and we feel that it did so satisfactorily.

The so called \"king size bed\" we supposedly had in our room was the WORST bed I have ever slept in in my life! There was a massive dip in the middle and there was no way that my husband and I could sleep in it together - he ended up sleeping on the pull-out bed and got a better nights sleep than I did! Double glazing was not very good either and considering the hotel is on a major road we had a lot of traffic noise all night. Didn't get to try the food as the cafe was closed on the night we were there.

pleasantly surprised by quality and value for money of the hotel
