The hotel was fine for the price. Regular size room and accomodations but it was nice and clean. The free breakfast was decent too. Cant go wrong with a banana and a cheap powdered donut! :) We stayed here because of a wedding. I would stay here again if I had to because of the price and like I said it was clean and I felt safe. Bring your own comforter though for the bed!! Its not exactly luxurious.

Nothign special but all the hotels in the Homestead/Florida City seem to be the same, just average motels

We had a great room for a great price! When we arrived the staff was very pleasant and helpful. We were even offered free complimentary m/w popcorn for our room. My husband wanted no butter and I wanted buttered so they gave us one of each. The room was clean and there were no unpleasant surprises. There are a number of restaurants within walking distance and we only had to walk across the street to dine in a friendly seafood place. I don't recall the name but the food was good and we enjoyed eating outside on the patio. Although we did not use it, the pool looked clean and there were quite a few people in it. The free continental breakfast offered much more than the usual fare. An extra that is offered is the complimetary internet and computer useage in the lobby. They have 2 computers set up and it was very nice to be able to print out my boarding passes for the airplane the next day. Keep in mind that you can not use them during the breakfast hours. Fortunalty I printed mine out in the evening when we arrived. I would definitely stay here again!

We used Travelodge for a stop over to Key West. Excellent service from the staff. The rooms were clean and the grounds were well maintained and it's right on Rt1. The breakfast could have had more of a selection but it was good. It was a great all around experience for us.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Travellodge in Florida City. It's in a perfect location between Miami, the everglades, and the Keys. The rooms are clean. The pool is small but refreshing. The house keepers are friendly and hardworking. The best part was the breakfast. They had a wide variety of items to choose from. It's not a resort but a great place to stay to see what southern Florida has to offer.

I recently made a trip to Key west. Since i had planned to be in and out of key west in a day, i chose this hotel as it is just on the way out of the keys. I went for the reviews - since all other reviews had pretty high rating i booked this place Check in was fine, we went to the room. It seemed old and smelled weird and stale. The sheets were old and not soft. The comforters/blankets felt and smelled dusty and old. The towels in the bath were also worn out but clean. The selection of soaps and shampoos were terrible. Breakfast was a nightmare. Some of the reviews said breakfast was great with waffles. The waffles are soggy frozen ones. None of the breads seemed fresh. The hard boiled eggs seemed stale and didnt taste right. The bagel/muffins were also old. Avoid this hotel at all costs. There was a comfort inn 2 buildings away. Go there, it may be better. Seems like most of the reviews were written by hotel employees or management themselves. Also, though we did not have a problem with security, the hotel is very spread out and security could be an issue.

This was a great location for anything in S. FL and as a base camp for the Keys. The accomodations were clean and spacious, the staff was very attentive, especially when we left early in the morning and wanted our rooms cleaned early so that we could come back and nap in the early afternoon. The price was within the range we wanted and the room extras (micr/frig) were a great help on our budget. The landscaping is meticulously maintained and a security staff was very visible throughout our stay---24/7---felt very safe, but was not distracting to our stay. The location was close to all of the attractions we wanted to visit: Everglades, Florida Keys, exploring, snorkeling, water, etc. Never had a dull moment. It was great for a couple's get away. The staff was very accommodating and the breakfasts were quite good for the amount of people they were dealing with the first week in January. We met many international visitors which was also quite an experience. Be sure and visit the Miccosukee Indian Cultural Center about 45 miles from the hotel, inland. Our hotel location also allowed us to see several beautiful sunsets from different locations within a close driving distance. I would be nice if the hotel had a few more computers for email access--they were busy most of the time (shut down during breakfast was great though!). Printouts of boarding passes are available from the staff at the desk---no public printers. Laundry facilities are a little short in supply (early morning, late afternoon, and evenings)--they are centrally located. It was a great experience and we will certainly make it a base camp when we return if the price is within our budget--senior income. It was a wonderful experience and we couldn't thank the manager enough for all of his efforts to make our first real vacation in years a grand experience! We didn't even consider going north to more "vactionee" places like Miami!

At the edge of the keys. Interior needs to be updated like exterior. Hotel does not let you take continental breakfast back to room for some reason, and free computers are turned off during breakfast hours.

The front-desk service was friendly and accommodating to some special requests. The furnishings and fixtures were newer and the room was clean enough, but not sparkling. The beds were comfortable. The shower head with adjustable spray pressure was nice. A microwave and mini-frige were included in the room. The room was quiet. We were in the building farthest away from the highway and couldn't hear the traffic. We also couldn't hear the people in the neighboring rooms. The price seemed high but was comparable to other hotels in the area. The breakfast was better than those at similar hotels.

This was one of the nicest hotels we stayed in in Florida. Clean, spacious, well kept. Their continental breakfast had a huge assortment of food! Not the usual plastic bagel and muffin. The pool area was very nice as well.

If you are looking for an inexpensive place to spend the night this hotel is adequate. Nothing fancy but serves the purpose.

Very clean and well maintained in every way. Walking distance to restaurants. Minimal boat trailer parking was only drawback. We have stayed here twice in the past month for kayaking trips. It is clean, well lighted and meticulously maintained. The pool was wonderful, the towels fluffy, the A/C cold and quiet, the shower huge with plenty of hot water. Convenient to restaurants and any items you may have forgotten. We commuted from here to Key Largo, Flamingo in Everglades Park and Biscayne National Park. This was right in the middle. All staff was polite and accommodating. We did not get to see the breakfast as we fish early but the set up looked nice. We will stay here again' and again.

We stayed here for one night on our way to Key West in Jan 09. This is absolutely the cleanest Travelodge that I have ever stayed in. Beautiful grounds, friendly service, comfortable beds and pillows. Very clean. I would recommend this hotel.

We used the Travelodge to drive to the Everglades, visit Homestead and Florida City and move on to Key West. I must admit we were very impressed with this "budget motel". It was very clean and the attention to detail with the landscaping and maintenance were top shelf. We have paid tons more money in other parts of Florida only to be disgusted with the filth you have to endure. For the money this place was awesome; I only wish they had public access to the internet. I understand they are wireless, buy we don't carry a laptop on vacation with us. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast that was included had a large selection of food, the best selection we've gotten compared to anywhere else in Florida. It was plenty to fill us. It's more than just a continental breakfast. In other places we've only been able to get a small danish or muffin and a tiny juice, but here you get cereals, toast, fruit, bagels, muffins, eggs, juices, coffee, etc. We would definitely use the Travelodge again.

This hotel was so clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The layout of the property is great. However, I had planned on staying closer to the beaches and the night life and was unaware how isolated and far away from everything this was.

Friendly hotel staff, clean, functional, reasonable rates. Bed was somewhat uncomfortable. Overall for the price and my intended use, this was a very nice place to stay, and I would stay there again.

The hotel has really good price/comfortability rating. The location is not so great - you can stay here if you rent a car because it's some 30-45 minutes from the downtown of Miami. Rooms were clean and surprisingly quiet despite of thin walls (we heard people talking in the next room in the evenings). Will recommend the hotel to fellow travellers.
