This is 3 blocks from the Jail, which is very convenient if that is why you are in Eureka.. Otherwise, this is just an average hotel, thin walls, donuts and juice for breakfast.

Location. Parking. The heaters did not work and it was hard to find parking. Rooms OK clean near restaurants and easy to find.
Date of Stay:
December, 2008
the room was medorcer you get what you pay for. the room takes a while to heat up and the heater is small and is propane. Then bathrooms are out dated and don't offer mush the closets are bigger than the bathroom. It does have a plus side it is right next to old town Eureka and there are great little shops to go look through. There is plenty of places to eat around the area with in walking distance. Then the Lost Coast Brewery is in walking distance and has good food then there is also a store right across the street. so if you are statying cheap you can get food there.

Old guy at front desk . Wanted to charge extra for a non smoking room, asked for upstairs room, wanted to charge extra for that. Guy was very anti customer service, would not go back.

The Travelodge Eureka was a good value for the money. Rooms were basic, but very clean. There are good top end restaurants nearby. Suggest travelers save their dollars by staying at the Travelodge and splurge on dinner nearby at The Carter House. In this particular room, there was no mini-fridge or microwave compared to other Travelodge's I've stayed at. Traffic noise can get a little loud in the mornings as Highway 101 runs in front of motel. Since this is an older motel, get a second floor room to avoid any creaking noise from upstairs from the floor above. It's worth hauling your suitcase via the stairs for that reason. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Checkout the brochures and Eureka magazines for interesting things to do on your stay.

Easy to find and close to the places I wanted to go to. The bed was the wrong size it was a full and not a queen, it had to be 20 years old or more and shower was smaller then the closet. Iwas unhappy with the room bed was very old and hard to sleep on. The shower felt like cocoon very small.

Our room had a very heavy smell of some "cover up" air freshener that didn't do the job. WiFi was too weak to use. When I contacted the office they said "bring your computer and use in office or take across street to cafe. Their WiFi work good. Sometimes we use it." Heat barely worked. Remote didn't work. Dropped it off at office when we went to dinner. They said it would be fixed when we came back. Same remote not fixed when we returned. No kleenex. not even empty box. I can't believe Travelodge let's these people use their name.

this hotel was over priced. The room smelled of bleach when we first arrived. The room later smelled of animal urine after the smell of the bleach wore off. this hotel really needs to clean up the place I would not swim in their pool if someone paid me to, it was very unpleasent looking.

Friendly and helpful desk staff. The staff was very courteous and friendly, even offering to help me with my luggage up the stairs. This is something I have never encountered at a budget motel. The location was also convenient.

We would never stay there again. We felt it was so dirty and gross!

This hotel was close to the water and downtown Eureka. It lacked charm and comfort. The bed and pillows were uncomfortable, but clean. No elevator and no ameneties besides very cold outdoor unheated pool.
Date of Stay:
July, 2008
A not terribly pleasant facility in a high tourist location during the height of the summer season. Availability was its only real recommendation and, fortunately, we only needed a place to sleep for one night.

Serive right long the price. Would come back again.

The travelodge Eureka was not welcoming to us.The t.v. was not working and there was a glass window facing the street on the first floor;giving a less than secure feeling when in that room.I requested a room on the 2nd floor, the manager was accomodating,so I thought all was well.Sevral minutes after the room change, the manager's husband(also the maintenance man)accused us of breaking the the television in our initial room.We woke the next morning had our continental breakfast. To our surprise and dismay we found our 2 front tires had been slashed. Our vehicle was the only one in the lot that had damage. We felt victimized.

I would not stay here again. The person at the desk was not helpful or friendly. It was as if there were no walls, because I was on the second floor and could hear everyone in each room around me and their TVs.

I'm very satisfied with my stay at the Eureka travelodge. The room was clean, and the front desk lady was extremely helpful. Hotels in the Eureka area are quite expensive compare to other places. If you want something better and are willing to pay at least twice more, go somewhere else.

Good location and the bed was ok. Noise from bathroom pipes and upstairs guests. Noise everywhere. Convenient location. To noisy. Not a good value.

Location was great. The staff was professional caring staff. Continental breakfast was pathetic. It was a nice room, showers had great water pressure and plenty of room to move around.
Date of Stay:
November, 2006
max heat in room 63 degreesdid not have hair dryers ad said they didroom was clean

Freshly painted outside. Noisy, bathroom a little grungy. This place would be ok for someone just passing thru who can sleep through lots of noise. Room was passably clean and motel was recently painted but bed was uncomfortable and TV was poorly positioned (hard to watch from bed) and lots of outside noise came thru. A plus was the hooker hanging around outside at 3 am.
