The Travelodge Dunbar/Charleston is conveniently located off the interstate, but that was the only convenience and nice thing about the hotel. The check-in clerk was smoking and watching tv while working, and the non-smoking room had a smoky smell and cigarette burns throughout the room. The continental breakfast was almost non-existent. There was coffee and cornflakes. Definitely not kid and family friendly. I will not stay in a Travelodge again, nor would I ever recommend this hotel to anyone!

We arrived after midnight and were treated very expeditiously. None. It was a good value.

We have stayed at this Travelodge for several years now. It's the halfway point between our home and Cape Hatteras, NC, and about the only place to stop after eight or nine hours of driving. It is old and run down, but generally clean, and extremely inexpensive. The king size bed is comfortable. We're only in Dunbar for about nine hours, so this meets our needs. Although the area has seen better days economically, it is safe. We have bicycles and kayaks on our vehicle, and they have never been tampered with. We checked out a couple of other "fancier" motels in the area, but while the hotel was better, the location was not. It's easy to get on and off the interstate from here. There is a range of travelers who stop here, but, overall, the motel is adequate and secure. Families with small children are fine here, as are retired travelers. Women traveling alone may be uneasy, but would be safe.

Location was very good. Room was nasty -socks were black after 5 mins. Room was nasty (floor was soiled and sink had hair on it) elevator was broken and I have problems going up stairs and we were on 4th floor, trains ran late at night and very early in morning and heater kicked on every 4 minutes and sounded like a loud hair dryer.

Advertised a pool there was none! Found hair in the bathroom and sheets and not the hair on your head either. Also the hotel looked as if it were falling apart and smelled. Could not give our money back because we purchased the room rental online. So we had to call the online service and was on hold for 45 minutes. BEWARE! Go somewhere else! Huge disappointment!

The hotel was close to the highway. It was dirty, poorly maintained, unfriendly, lowest quality of a hotel as possible. This hotel was close to the highway. The other guests were friendlier than the workers. I had to clean the sink before using it. The bathroom needed many repairs. The air conditioner was very noisy. The breakfast, served in a tiny, old room, was not appealing or tasty and offered a quite limited selection.

Convenient to interstate, eating places. Continental breakfast let something to be desired. It provided a quick stop rest for tired bodies.

Accessible to eating places and shopping. My room was in front of the ice machine. This hotel was accessible to shopping and eating establishments. There was not a lot of traffic making it easy to enter and exit the hotel.

Room was nice for the price paid. We could hear out neighbor in the middle of the night. I felt for the price that we were able to stay in a nice hotel. The room was clean and the employees were friendly and helpful.
