spa weekendhotel was good value for money, excellent friendly staff rooms clean but accomodation dated and in need of refurb.

When we walked into the room and looked at the bed... there were no PILLOWS in sight!!! Seriously how can you have a hotel room without pillows on the bed? We had to call the front desk to have them deliver pillows. They only brought us two of them. They were very lumpy and old. I am very dissatisfied with their lumpy pillows. On top of the pillow problem, they had a plumbing problem. We went to turn on the water for the jacuzzi in our room and the knob for the cold water was broken. We had to play with it to get it to work. Then.. when we were in the jacuzzi, we got a rude phonecall from the front desk saying there was water dripping into the restaraunt downstairs. I am very dissatisfied with this hotel and would not recommend anyone going there. If you are thinking about it, do yourself a favor and stay away. stay far away.

Convenience to falls viewing, dinning & both casinos. Everything looked very clean however the smell was very bad. Not sure if it was cleaning products or just old smelling. Overall we found the hotel perfectly suitable for our needs.

Paid for a 3-bed room that was on the third floor. Good price for 4 of us to share. The chairs in the room had no bottoms to them. The sink was tempermental at times shooting out water instead of flowing out. Otherwise than that, room was what we expected. The casino is FIVE FEET away from our hotel, but there's a huge fence going around the building so we had to kick it up the hill and around back to get there. Saturday night at the end of February and there's still lots of traffic in the parking lot till 5am so expect noise and lots of drinking. The price was good for the location. Room was clean, but don't expect a view. Would stay there again if under the same circumstances.

The hotel was very convenient for me and my family. Very easy walk from the hotel to the Falls, Clifton Hill, etc. The staff was very friendly and we had a nice breakfast at the restaurant.

Highly recommendedWe took one of their basic rooms which was perfectly adequate and excellent value for money. The optional breakfast was also good and the evening meal we decided to take there was particularly good at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended at this price.

Location. Hotel did not have anything together and messed up our reservations. Not too pleased on how they handles the situation and also never once saw a smile. The location was great, very close to everything. They did call once we got into the room and asked how it was, but took my credit card information and wouldn't give it back at the end of the trip (even after they inspected the room). I didn't get one thanks you for staying with us or a smile from anyone who worked there.

This hotel was a really good choice - terrific location. Could walk down to the falls easily. Area along the falls is very pretty and safe. Kids will love the Clifton Hills activities. Our room was at the back and we heard no noise from the street. Only down side was a loud squealing every time another room turned on water. The free continental breakfast was fine. Overall, a good choice for a reasonably priced hotel close to the falls. And the views and area are much nicer on the Canadian side than on the US.

This hotel is in need of refurbishment. You get what you pay for!We found that other than the propriertors, there was only 1 other member of staff on duty. The lady on reception was also pulling the pints and serving the food!! The hotel is badly in need of refurbishment - its like something straight out of the 70's. The rain was pouring in the annexe where most of the budget rooms are and the furnishings are very tired. Wouldnt go back there again, even though the food was excellent! All in all, cheap and cheerful and thats about it.

Free WiFi, parking and breakfast. No elevator. The room was clean and recently updated. The fridge and microwave came in handy. The location can't be beat. I'd stay here again.

The hotel staff were welcoming and friendly and the accomadation looked good until we entered our room. The window clasp was broken and so the window would not shut, the toilet cistern dripped all night, the extractor fan in the bathroom didnt work and so the entire room became a sauna minutes after turning on the shower. However these things didnt really bother me as i was only there for 1 night the thing which concerned me was the nails sticking ot of the wooden headboard!!!! The breakfast the served was actually very nice tho the only thing i will say about an evening meal is to eat at the pub down the road and not at the hotel

We liked the balcony. We couldn't extend our check out time and check in staff at front desk was rude.

Clifton Hill Hotel a trip back to the worst of the 70's.On late rooms this hotel was billed at £90 reduced to £65 for a "superior room" a saving of £50 for two nights. So I was expecting a room in line with £90/night. If you paided £45 for it you would feel dissatisfied. The place is shabby down at heel. The fire doors were constantly wedged open. The furniture was falling apart the light pull had a food clip on the end of it! The "superior room" did not even have a hair drier. This place is just waiting for the bulldozer.

Away day On arrival everything was ready and waiting for us. the staff were first class and answered all questions politely. Overall i was very impressed with all aspects and quality of the hotel. The price was very good / infact excellent for the standard of accomodation.

Very Run DownI had read comments about the hotel being a bit shabby, and this it certainly was, the room was clean and the bathroom had no shower only a bath which wasn't a real problem. The walls were very thin and during the night I did hear shouting and noise from people arriving back late. The price was only 35.00 and that is all I would have wanted to pay, I probably would not bother to stay again, it served it's purpose of a one night stop over on the way to Scotland but I think you could get a B&B for a little extra that would have been better.

Satisfactory overnight stopWe found the Clifton Hill Hotel perfectly adequate for an overnight stop, but would not have wanted to stay longer. Our room and bathroom were beautifully clean and well-appointed (though one bedside light did not work: two new bulbs were provided but there was in fact something more fundamental wrong), but the only window opened onto a corridor round the courtyard, so there was little natural daylight and as it was groundfloor and there was no means of securing the window to open only a little we felt a bit vulnerable. However, the hotel is clearly in the process of being renovated/upgraded, so we would try it again. The staff could not have been more helpful. The bar food was perfectly OK.

Just what i expected for the price

Peter & Barbara MartinAlthough the room booked was very basic which was to be expected for the low rate charged, everything was clean and the beds were comfortable. The food was good and the staff extremely obliging. The only criticism we have is that the acoustics leave a lot to be desired as dividing walls in the section of the hotel we stayed in were to say the least, rather flimsy and one can be party to the neighbours conversations and if, as we were, under other rooms, the above floors are decidedly noisy and squeaky, but we guess you get what you pay for so no real problem.
