The pool had nice warm water that was close to our room. Continental breakfast was a few pre wrapped rolls that were gone by 8:15AM. Very small bathroom. We were basically looking for a motel close to the Mall of America that was clean and assessable. This hotel met our expectations - although we were disappointed in the breakfast being done at 8:15 when they advertised 9:30.

The check in woman was very unfriendly. She didn't smile or thank us. There are two towers of rooms on each side of the parking lot and the towers are connected by a horseshoe shape of motel rooms. We had one of the motel rooms. It was a corner room. The room was very large. The beds were comfortable. The fridge was very cold. There was not a coffee maker in our room. There was a hole in the wall where the smoke detector should have been. I stuffed a towel in it to keep out drafts or critters. The heater was cranked to 90 and I would be suprised if it got over 67 in the room. That should be repaired. The room was very clean and our maid did an excellent job The pool is a joke. I've seen plastic pools in a backyard that were bigger. It says max capacity 12. If you could fit 12 people in it I would be suprised. The hot tub was empty with yellow caution tape around it. I was pretty disapointed with that. The continental breakfast is not a continental breakfast. It's a couple of donuts out of the vending machine and cofee. Don't count on using this for breakfast. I would stay there again, but not with kids. The pool was too small.

This is, by FAR the WORST "hotel" we've ever stayed in. It was filthy, smelly, old and had TINY bathrooms. Our bathroom was so small the door only opened 1/2 way before it hit the filthy tub. The higher ratings from previous "guests" MUST have been left by employees. Spend a few extra dollars for a different hotel and STAY AWAY from this one!

Hotel pool was small and the tile in the pool area was gross (mold or something). Hot tub did not work and was all boarded up. Room had patches on the walls, cracks in the tiles. The area around the hotel is rough. I'm a cop and was travelling with my family. Slept with my gun on the nightstand and carried it with me to go into a nearby gas station in case of a robbery. I was suprised to see our van when we woke up in the morning.

Beach and Tiki Bar, Shrimp specials in the restaurant, live bands by the pool. Nothing. I had never been to Ft Myers Beach before, but would go again and would stay at the Holiday Inn if I did!

i stayed at this motel over valentine's day weekend, i had used one of these on-line travel deals, and booked a one bed hotel room, don't know what happened but they gave me a double bed, i asked for a non-smoking room but it smelled like an ashtray, nothing that i couldn't fix by opening the window for a while. the room was very clean, everything was really good about the room, i didn't expect a refridgerator and microwave but it sure did come with one :D the only complaints i really have are about the lack of iron and ironing board, lack of list of television channels, and that it was freezing cold outside, but that is not the motels fault :D over all i would definatly stay there again, it was really convinient to everything

The location was great, literally minutes away from mall of America. 20-30 minutes away from many other attractions such as the zoo, chutes and ladders, Grand Rios water park ect. The bed was very uncomfortable, our shower, TV, TV remote, one of the side lamps, bathroom ceiling fan and sink faucet didn't work. I ended up getting charged twice for the room, once from Travel agency, and once form the front desk clerk at check in, which still hasn't been refunded properly. It was extremely loud from overhead planes and cars from the highway.For the price all was expected, it was cheap and it was dingy. I would rather spend more money and stay somewhere more comfortable and quiet. Not to rant, but Travel agency was 40.00 more for our 2-night stay than it would have cost us just to book through another travel agency...Now I know 40.00 isn't a lot of money, but that could of been a much needed tank of gas.

The hotel was nice enough for the stay I had. I was only staying for a few hours my first night on my vacation. The hotel was easily accessable, but the room did not seem very private due to the curtains not closing all the way. I would stay there again if it was a one night thing but not any longer than that.

The front desk attendant was nice. If I would of slept in my car. The room was a small box with TV, bed, and bathroom withno toiletries.

We were a bit concerned after seeing the mixed reviews but couldn't resist the bargain rate we were offered. Our rooms were the biggest we've ever seen in a budget hotel - each had a table and 2 chairs, desk, dresser, and coffee table in addition to the two comfortable beds. One even offered a kitchen. Both had fridges and microwaves as well. Everything was very clean and each room came with plenty of towels (we had 4 people in each room). The staff was quite helpful and friendly. The "closets" lacked closet rods or any place to hang clothes. The bathrooms were quite small - my 6-7 husband was unable to stand up fully in the shower. The internet never connected on any of the 3 laptops we had with us (we had 2 end rooms). Most concerning of all was the outside door which did not consistently lock. Our rooms were in the adjacent building, not the ones with outside entrances which appear quite a bit smaller. The main building offered a computer with internet access and limited free printing. The breakfast was typical continental, danish, coffee, and juice. We were at this location primarily for sightseeing and meeting with family, so we never checked out the pool. The large rooms made it very amenable to visiting and hanging out in the rooms. We would stay here again in a heartbeat, just so long as the internet wasn't a necessity.

We stayed there to take advantage of the park and fly program, and just loved it! The car was safe, and so were we! I went to their website and looked... And we got exactly what was promised us. I was a little apprehensive about the clerk wanting to hold the car keys for park and fly, but it turned out ok, nothing happened. It's just like leaving them with a valet! I read the reviews on this site and others (ones that were really bad were more than a year old... Not at all accurate anymore). The point is that it's not the Taj Mahal and never promised to be! It's a great little place, comfortable, clean and great for the money. And for you people complaining about Breakfast, get over it! If you sold rooms for 60 a night would you also have an omelet bar? Let's be reasonable. This Travelodge has the same breakfast as all the other Travelodges. How do I know? I went to the Travelodge website and looked it up! Anytime anyone books a hotel, they should be going to the website of the hotel itself when possible. Then you wouldn't be shocked to see that you're staying at the Ritz Carlton. Also, it's manned by HUMANS. Let's be reasonable, ok?

I only used it to shower and sleep at night. For this, it was fine. It is older and clean, but very basic. I can stay at an extremely simple place like this, but most people cannot. It is fine for the purpose for which I used it.

I don't know what all this fuss is about. This was a WONDERFUL place!I was treated very nicely by the nice woman behind the counter, and the hansome young man that works evenings. They were both very attentive, and I was very difficult to deal with.I did not have a single problem with the pool, the other facilities, anything in my room, or any of it.I also stayed at the Courtyard down the street on another trip and it was a dump. There was mold growing on the ceiling, and when there was no power when I was there, the one elevator went dark and the other was completly offline. I spent 139/night to sit in the dark! I'll take this hands down! At least they don't offer less than they promise! If you do come here, just don't expect more than you pay for. It is a budget property, which is why the price is reasonable. In speaking with the desk clerks, I learned that this is a francised property. That means that Travelodge corporate doesn't fund the property, the property funds Travelodge corporate. There is no wealthy executive in a suit somewhere, the owner of this property works seven day weeks. The staff is not perfect, they're humans, and so are all of you.

The wireless internet only worked by the window, I sat on a chair and when I went to stand up it broke and I hurt my arm..the shower door didnt close...I had to use a shampoo bottle to keep it closed while I bathed...The chain lock on the door was attached to the trim around the door but the trim wasnt attached to the wall...I felt like my life was in danger

I stayed here and gave it a chance even though all these spoiled people rushed to judgement it online. I receieved excellent service at a fair price. I did not have a problem with Parking or the pool (and honestly, anyone who is THAT concerned about the pool? It's a non issue! It's a puddle!). The hot tub was as hot as would be safe considering that little kids use the common facilities. My room did not have a tub, and that's a FINE thing. Baths are wasteful and bad for the environment, and tubs are harder to clean. If you want a room with a tub, get a spa suite for what one of those costs at a ritzy dive! This motel is EXACTLY that, and it's a LOT cheaper than the classy ripoff joints surrounding it, and as for extra towels: Oh well! Perhaps a little patience is in order? I didn't have a problem, They are NOT perfect and neither are you! So if you're looking to stay at a ritz carlton, then stay at one. Don't badmouth a budget property because it's a budget property! As for the parking scenario, it HAPPENS. Things don't always go smoothly. This is what is called LIFE.
