The basics...free Internet and breakfast
Date of Stay:

Very friendly staff. I found the accommodations to be basic but the staff was very friendly. Overall I had a very good experience.

The desk clerk lied and said that the hotel was "full" (even though it clearly was not) as the reason why the only ice machine was empty. The solitary ice machine does not work. The room and furnishings were badly worn, dirty, and smelly. Better than sleeping in the car, I suppose.

The only thing good about this motel was proximity to Indiana university. The walls are so thin in the rooms, we could hear the person in the next room snoring. We turned off the air conditioner, because every time it switched off or on we woke up, it was so loud. The bed was very uncomfortable. I can do without a pool, but this motel really needs an updating.

While it was shabby it wasn't visibly dirty. The mattress did not sag, which was unusual for a king sized bed in an older hotel. The hotel was acceptable and fine. The bed was very hard, although it did not sag. The carpet seemed clean although it was very stained and spotted. There was no tub, only a shower. The room was built with a connecting door to the next room. The single door had a gap around the edge and out neighbors, a group of college youths, could be heard talking all night. They didn't seem to be loud, there just wasn't enough of a audio gap in between to muffle their noise. Our room on the second floor had a window that looked straight into a grocery store parking lot behind us. This could have been bad if we had spent more time in the room. Overall I thought the room really was fine.

It?s very simple. We checked in late and had unpacked and changed into night clothes before we discovered the sheets on the bed were used and dirty. We called the front desk and simply asked for clean sheets and pillowcases. The sheets were delivered to us by the night staff/manager accompanied by a slur of the people he claimed to be responsible but to whom he would not be able to speak to about the problem ?because I don?t speak Hindi, although the owner does.? However, the sheets delivered to us were for a double or smaller bed and would not fit our king-size bed. Nor were we provided with fresh pillow cases. My wife called the front desk again. The same night staff person answered by saying, ?Oh, you again.? He then delivered a stack of sheets to us saying ?The right sheets are in there somewhere" and stalked off. No apology, no assistance, no offer to remove the pile of dirty linen and unnecessary sheets. I asked for the manager; he refused to put me in touch. When checking out I asked the day clerk if he had heard of any problem, and heard a fabricated account laying the blame on us as guests for refusing assistance. The room itsel was a bad deal for the price, pretty grubby, a noisy airconditioner/ heater with a paltry view of a parking lot at eye level out of the one window. We would have taken it without comment, though, but for the atrocious treatment and prejudiced ethnic slurs that, we feel, are out of line. We complained to Travelodge, online travel website with its "guarantee," and the local hotel manager. We asked for a refund and got a short letter of apology but no refund from the manager. Dont stay here!

It was convenient. The windows didn't let in a lot of light. Spotty and quiet.

Nothing. Smelly, noisy, dirty, dim. Disgusting - smelly, noisy, dirty - dim small room.
Date of Stay:

The room was dirty, bed uncomfortable I?m talking like wood, and we got our own blankets because we knew the ones on the bed were probably never washed. We told the man at the front desk we would stay the night b/c it was so late but we wouldn?t stay the second night. He wouldn?t give us our money back for the second night even though we left at 10Am after only one night (not even 8 hrs.). Travelocity didn?t help either. We were very disappointed and disgusted with the whole thing.

Very good value for the money. Great location next to IU.

Dog friendly. There were smoking rooms. It was located in a very convenient spot for my purposes and the room itself was clean and had sufficient space. The hallways smelled of cigarette smoke due to the fact that half of the hotel was smoking rooms.

When we arrived, the desk attendent was dozing. The bathroom had a few worn spots. The mattress was kind of hard! The sheets had see through spots and the blanket had two holes in it.

The Bloomington Travelodge was a good value for the money, with a large, quiet room, pleasant and professional staff, a continental breakfast, and a location not far from the east edge of the I.U. campus. I would stay there again.

It was a good place to spend the night for a reasonable price. The continental breakfast was pretty bleak. A very good value, if you are just looking for someplace to sleep. Clean rooms, felt safe, good location by the mall. Skip the continental breakfast, there are plenty of restaurants around to get a better bite.

"I was a little afraid to stay here after seeing all the reviews. The exterior needs updated, but the room had new carpet, wallpaper and tile. It was clean and the staff was very friendly"

The Bloomington Travelodge was a great value for the money! The staff was very polite and helpful. The room was very quiet and spacious on the side opposite the parking lot. I told the staff at check-out that there were more options for breakfast near the motel besides Denny's (for example, CrackerBarrel and Bob Evan's). The only thing I did NOT like was the bed. The bed was too firm for my tastes and I found it very uncomfortable to sleep on it. There is a Red Lobster adjacent to the motel and plenty of places to shop nearby especially if you like book stores!

I was very happy to be able to get some breakfast early in AM. The turn in and way out by auto. Travelodge was comfy, not a whole lot of frills, and close to where I had to be.
