The Santa Monica travel lodge was verry dirty! My sheet's were verry dirty with blood stains! I tried to call the front desk but there was no answer! The next morning I went to the office and told the manager what had happend and all he said to me was that there was nothing he can do about it! The front desk replace their water faucet because it came off when they turned on the water! At the end of the night, they went back to their room and it did not get cleaned and the door was left wide open! We went and told the manager but once again, he said sorry and that he could not do anything! I'm verry sorry, but I should not got charged for my room!!

Nothing. Dirty, old, smells, zero parking high price for dirt!

Great location is about all I can say. You couldn't ask for a more convenient and not so pricey hotel. We had a "suite" that had three double beds, one in a separate room connected to our room. THAT was a pleasant surprise. Small bathroom. But the hairdryer works well so does the microwave and small fridge. Forgot to mention there were a few light bulbs out... oh well, one lamp per room was enough. We actually felt cramped, the rooms were very small, and did I mention the teensy bathroom? 2 people could not fit in the bathroom at the same time- and we're little (5'1", 120-125 lbs apiece me and my 15 year old daughter, and my 11 year old son is barely 80 pounds). But there's planty of hot water and the pressure was pretty good too. The walls are thin, just like other people may have mentioned. I called two nights in a row to complain about noisy neighboring guests who don't seem to have kids. But the problem was quickly resolved. Parking is ten bucks a day but everything is walking distance, like I said- convenient location. Venice was a short drive away. The pier, short walk away. I probably would stay here again tho because Santa Monica is ridiculously expensive.

Literally steps away from the 3rd Street Promenade, the Santa Monica Pier, all the local restaraunts, shops and bars. The staff at the Travelodge was very friendly and knowledgable about the area's attractions. The rooms were decent and the fact that you could walk nearly anywhere was the very best part. You cannot beat what you get at this hotel for the very reasonable price....would definately stay here again!

Santa Monica Beach Travelodge has a great location, but that really the only positive comment I have about this hotel. Hotel is very old and walls in bathroom and room are falling apart. The only hotel staff I met was the guy at the front desk, who while talking on two phones at the same time and was trying to answer the customer's question. He just did not have time to be friendly. Pool was in terrible condition. It felt itchy even to look at it. I would never recommend this hotel to a friend.

Friendly staff & excellent location. Potential security problems. Windows could provide easy access to rooms. Excellent location & very friendly/helpful staff. Although we had no problems, the condition of the building & the condition of the windows (I was able to easily open it from the outside) left us a little on edge about leaving anything of value (e.g. a laptop) in the room while we were gone.

Water damage, smelly room. Absolutely ridiculous wireless internet. Can't be used on more than one computer. Must log in within 24 hours of receiving login and password. Only can be distributed in particular day increments which may not match your hotel stay. In addition, they tried to charge me at higher rate for the room than was in the agreement. After I showed the owner my paperwork, he offered no apology for the mistake (never apologized for the internet so why start now) and then he spent 10 minutes "fixing" the problem.

The ocean view room was very dirty. The shower floor was interesting to say the least. It had some kind of material painted on that was peeling up which left the soap, etc. underneath. Very unsanitary. We had booked 2 nights, but left after the 1st. We were ready to leave the 1st night but would have been out the money. Dirty unsanitary hotel. Should be deemed contaminated by the city! Don't stay here if you care about cleanliness!

The Santa Monica Beach Travelodge was, without a doubt, the most disgustingly dirty and rundown place that I have ever stayed (and I have traveled extensively throughout the United States and Central America). Words cannot describe how filthy the rooms are, but...the room reeked of mildew, the wallpaper hung loose from the walls, and the tub/shower basin was covered in grime and rust. The bathroom grout was mildewed around the sink, tub and floorboards. There was what appeared to be blood stains on the curtains. The furniture was battered, desk drawers hung askew, and most of the lamps did not work. The man at the front desk said there was nothing he could do, and that the hotel was scheduled to be torn down within the next year or two, so the owner wasn't going to put any money in it. Learn from our mistake. Stay away!

It was right across the street from the beach. It was outdated and neded to be remodeled. It needs to be remodeled but the staff was excellent. We only needed the room to sleep and shower so it served its purpose. I'll stay there again when I go back to Santa Monica.

The location is across the street from the beach and pier, and one block from the shopping mall and third street promenade. The rooms are clean and nice, free breakfast and free internet. The staff was very nice and helpful. Can't beat the location for the price, as most other hotels in this area are much more expensive.

I'm glad we booked through online travel and prepaid. We wanted to extend our stay one extra day and was then told we owed 10 per day for parking for the 3 days already stayed. What a joke. Needless to say we went elsewhere. Overall it was a decent stay while we were working at the college.

Location. Dirty, unsafe, should be condemned. We knew the Travel Lodge would not be a great experience, but we could have never anticipated how bad it would be. The door to the room didn't seal on the threshold and thus it didn't close right. The water pressure in the shower was so minimal it just dribbled out. The bedding was dirty, old and mangy. We could hear every conversation in neighboring rooms. The other patrons were loud and obnoxious as they wandered the parking lot drinking all night. We did not feel safe and we will never stay there again. No way would we recommend this place to anyone, especially with women or children.

This hotel gave poor service, charged for parking after advertising there was no charge, had filthy rooms and grounds that were unsafe and not up to code. If that wasn't enough, the staff seemed to take pleasure in providing the worst, angry service ever experienced by this traveler.

Dont waste even 1 staying here. Unbelieveably unkept and my colleague travel partner discovered bugs in the bed and switched hotels - I should have too. Rusted door frames, dirty floors, dark rooms, a shower you'd think was used to film Scarface...I could go on and on, but you get the point.

It was very close to the beach and all of the attractions. The hotel room was filthy - after a shower, if you walked across the carpet in bare feet your feet were black from dirt. It was in a beautiful convenient location. The view was beautiful. However the room was filthy and smelled damp kind of like wet dog. The staff was friendly and helpful. The pool was in good condition.

Can't beat the location across from beach and pier, one block from famous Promenade shopping area. Rooms clean and fair (no bugs noted). The most affordable motel in the area by far. Nice helpful staff. Free wireless internet and breakfast included. All hotels charge parking in Santa Monica. Other bad reviews I read were not true.

Location. Rather gritty interior. Great location but extremely basic and tatty. Room was clean.

Great location. Not dirty; but not very "clean." Great location; right next to the beach; great restaurants close by.

Close to ocean, walkways, shops and restaurants. We were charged $10.00 for parking, without advising ahead of time. Decor, especially bathroom was very outdated, cracked, poorly maintained. Room cleaned with extraordinarily strong chemicals that permeated the room the whole time. Continental breakfast was a joke.
