Just ok. Price is right. Location is marginal.
Date of Stay:

The place gave us the creeps, we did not even spend the night there, we left!

When one of the amenities is "exterior corridors" there is only so much you can expect. We had two beds and a TV. The bathroom was a bit small, but the water temp and pressure in the shower was fine. The staff was courteous and informative. It was a short walk to the Metro (Braddock Street) and ultimately, the price was right (less than $100/night). Since we went sightseeing pretty much all day, we weren't there all that much. I stayed here with my family and would do so again.

It was a nice room for the money and close to DC as well as downtown Old Town Alexandria. A short walk to the Braddock Street Metro rail was great. The staff is very accomindating as well. The only down point was the bathroom. These are more like closets, don't even attmpt to turn around in them because you can't, but really how much time do you spend in a bathroom?

Location within walking distance of the metro to DC, walking trails/parks, and nice shops and restaurants. Room was clean and kept clean nicely. A couple of minor things include: only certain rooms have refrigerator and microwave; only one ice machine and location was inconvienent; a sign in the lobby advertised continental breakfast but there was none. Not deal breakers and I would stay there again.

The manager was friendly. Manager said there was nothing they could do about the dirty room. This hotel was the dirtiest I have ever been in. I would never recommend this place.

When one of the amenities is "exterior corridors" there isn't much you should expect. But for what we needed - a place to stay - it was fine. I thought the room was fine - comfortable and not noisy at all. The bathroom was too small but the water temp and pressure was good. We had a parking space even after getting there around 1 in the morning. The staff was courteous and very helpful. It was a short walk to the train station (Braddock Street) and spent most of our time sightseeing, so we weren't there much. So if you're not going to use all the great stuff another hotel might provide, why pay for it?

I was pleasantly suprised by my stay here, so much so I extended my stay by a night. The hotel was very quiet, easy parking, walkable to everything. They allowed my dog for no extra cost. The Trader Joe's and Starbucks are within a block. My room was very clean and comfortable. It's a real steal at this price -- just a few minutes drive into downtown Washington, DC, Arlington National Cemetery and an easy walk or drive to the shopping, restaurants and sites of Old Town Alexandria. If you don't need hotel amenities like a gym or room service, this is a great place to stay.

The hotel was very convenient for sightseeing in D.C., Old town Alexandria and the airport. The staff was very helpful in giving directions to the subway and various places to eat.Their complementary breakfast was light but satisfying. This was a reunion with family visiting from England for the first time. We were all satisfied with all aspects of our stay and would recommend it to others on a moderate budget.

The price and the location, neat and clean with a friendly staff. No dislikes.

One of the cheapest in the area but not really worth it for saving a few bucks. Not very clean. Very noisy at night. Not enough parking space, need to park on the street. Room size is okay, but not very clean. Quite noisy at night (cars, buses, doors, plumbing...). Complimentary breakfast was a joke: coffee was bad; cereal provided but no milk; only one types of donuts and no bread, no toast, and nothing else. Room service was bad. Did not get toilet paper, tissue paper, and complimentary coffee replacement until you ask the front desk. Housekeepers smoked in our non-smoking room. Good things: very close to King Street; very close to Traders Joe; free internet access; free microwave and refrigerator, across from a gas station; quick drive to DC. If budget is a matter or just stay there for 1 or 2 nights, it is not a bad choice. Otherwise, look around.

If renting a car, 2 stations across the street. Else, within walking distance of Metro. Krispy Kremes in the lobby every AM; a Starbucks is across the street. Within walking distance of King Street night life. Neighborhoods range from lower working class to professional; always felt comfortable walking after dark. A manager is always on duty. A safe for your valuables is available in the manager's office. Room quality is described as spotty, based upon cable TV reception, electrical outlets, stained white towels. Facility is older; don't expect percs. If you're looking for a low-end place to rest your head at night because you'll be on your feet all day in Alexandria, Arlington and D.C., this is the place.

Comfortable bed good parking. Not as clean as would have liked carpets in corridor looked dirty and tatty. Easy to find parking good.

This is the dreariest, dingiest motel I've stayed at in years. The rooms are in sad shape -- rusty bathroom fixtures from the 1950s, rotting wood trim, coarsely patched holes in walls, stick furniture that long ago outlived its usefulness, The rooms are NOT clean. Our window was directly next to the entrance stairs for some other apartment, so if we left our window open for badly-needed fresh air, anyone could have just climbed in. The hotel is about 10 feet from two well-traveled streets and a firehouse, so we were awakened several times by sirens and loud car noises. The breakfast featured some chemical drink mix as orange "juice" and staff that kept checking on us through the two-way mirrors. Staff was universally unhelpful: wouldn't call a cab, wouldn't print an invoice, didn't seem at all interested in dealing with pre-paid guests. Pluses: The wireless internet works; the location is near charming old towne, 5 blocks from Metro.

rooms were clean, beds comfortable, a very quiet, safe location. good price. Close to DC. Neede an elevator(stuck on 2nd floor) and clerk would not give us extra towels-only 2 sets a day he said. We'd stay there again.

Place is dated but good for the money, service was good, housekeeping seems to be taking care of every detail on a daily bases( Im not looking really hard to find something bad). 7 to 8 block to braddack rd. metro station(good exercise, for me). if you are going to be taking the metro during your stay, and want to come home very late, you should use wythe or pendelton, few block more but much safer(theres even a starbuck next to a gym). another starbuck across the street, a burito place, a chinese place and windy fastfood, and a local takeout place at wythe and henry i think(seems to be a local favorate(there is alway lines everytime I walkby). the only problem i have was the magnetic key card, have 5 card in 7 days stay. desk clerk are also nice. breakfast was donuts, coffee, o j. use Reagan national airport if you can, just 1 metro stop to braddack rd.theres a lot of beauty parlor and nail salon around the property, just in case you want to please your girl. theres a local park 7 to 10 blocks down across the street(in an expensive neighborhood, not the subsidized housing type).

It was very cheap - I saved a lot of money. It was barely tolerable in terms of cleanliness and condition. Great price - but you get what you pay for!

This hotel is bargain priced, but it's satisfactory only for those who would otherwise sleep in their cars. It's the worst place I've stayed in years: dirty, dingy, and depressing. The rooms haven't been renovated for decades-- the electrical outlets are two-prong ungrounded, the walls have numerous, poorly-patched holes, the furniture is rickety, the bed squeaky, the bathroom fixtures rusty and vintage 1960. There wasn't even a light over the bathroom mirror. The room was musty but we didn't dare open our window because it looked out on an apartment entrance stairs. Anyone on the street could just go up the stairs, open our window, and climb in. I would have canceled after just seeing the room but unfortunately we had prepaid for four awful nights. "Breakfast" was a joke. The "juice" was some sort of drink mix and whatever was in the Raisin Bran dispenser wasn't raisin bran. The staff was only minimally helpful and seemed obsessed with watching us through the one-way mirror as we ate breakfast. On the plus side, the free internet works, the Metro is five blocks away, and Alexandria is full of nice little shops not far away. The neighborhood is safe and not too noisy. There are enough towels, and the beds are comfortable. If you're on a rock-bottom bargain budget and don't mind a room that looks r-e-a-l-l-y lived-in, then go for it. Otherwise pay more and stay elsewhere.

Stayed at the Travelodge Alexandria for one night to take care of some business nearby. Room was clean but very small, ditto the bathroom. Parking was off-street but not very secure, and the traffic noise was loud at times. Would recommend this as a budget stay for 1 night or less.
