Do not stay here! This is a shabby dirty hotel, which is well past it's sell-by date. It is in a run- down area, and is grim inside! Our toilet had not been cleaned, and we were greeted by someone else's urine stains on the toilet. The room was dated and grubby, wallpaper falling off walls, etc. Would not recommend to anyone!

Quite surprisedAfter reading a few reviews by unsatisfied customers i was quite worried of the quality that this hotel would bring. However to my surprise when entering the hotel room i was greeted by a spacious room consisting of a double bed, single bed and a couch, along with a tv and reasonably sized bathroom. There was also a few complaints about the shower not having hot water etc. Well i must have been a lucky one, as we never ran out of hot water and the shower was powerful. The receptionists were also a great help with all our needs and were also very polite. It was also brilliant being able to walk into the hotel and silly o'clock in the morning after being out in the pubs & clubs. All together i was very satisfied with staying here and will be very happy to stay again on my next time in Manchester.

Clean room and comfortable bed. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast very poor though, couldn't tell from the website that they stopped doing full english breakfast in May 2009. Continental breakfast was pathetic and poor value at any price. No fresh coffee, the same instant sachets that are provided free in the room, the croissants were stale and the bread was standard sliced. Had to ask if there was a toaster and staff then took bread to the kitchen to get the bread toasted. A lot to learn from continental hotels about continental breakfast.

Faded gloryThis is a lovely building and could be a lovely hotel. But it's sadly neglected: hardly any staff, no cooked breakfast (even getting toast was a struggle), tricky plumbing. Having said that, the shortfalls were reflected in the bargain price, and the location is handy for both Old Trafford and the tram stop to the city centre.

The Hotel looked quite nice from outside, the room was clean. Thats it for the good things! On arrival hotel management and reception staff where argueing. The room was a complete disgrace, The milk supplied for tea and coffee was OUT OF DATE, the shower didnt work, the TV did work but was fuzzy, there was no ventalation and the window would only part open this made it uncomfortably hot and hard to sleep! The bathroom didnt look very clean and had a horrible smell. No hairdryer, no Iron. So basically we paid for a bed!!! We strongly recommend NOT to stay here!!!!

Good valueI stayed here for one night with a friend as we were going to a concert close by. Our twin room was a little tired but everything was clean. The TV did not work properly but as we were only there for the night it didn't really matter. The hotel was what I was expecting and was pretty good value for money. I would use it again in the future.

WAS OVER TO SEE TAKE THAT CONCERT WAS REALLY CLOSE TO LCC - ONLY ABOUT 10 MIN WALKGood location although hotel is quite dated and could do with being updated to being a bit more modern. not a great selection for breakfast.

like being at homeWe used the hotel for a stop over for the take that concert. the staff on arrival were very pleasant, although the hotel is a little dated it feels like being at home, spacious and well appointed, the staff have a vast knowledge of the local area and its amenities, they offer most services you expect from a hotel but delivered with a smile, and they go the extra yard, car parking for the concert was a potential nightmare, no problem even though we were not resident on the night of the concert for a small fee we were permitted to use the hotel car park for the duration of the concert. it's situated 5 minutes walk from old trafford that both the football and cricket grounds and a 5 minute tram trip from the city centre, and the tram stop is 100yrds from the hotel. I will use this one again. and to recap all in all it was just like being at home.

Good value basic hotelAlthough this hotel is in need of some updating , the rooms were very spacious, there was an abundance of fluffy whte towels and the bed linen was crisp and clean. It is in an excellent position for visits to Lancashire Cricket Ground and Manchester United' Oldd Trafford ground.Overall for the money paid it was very good value.

Great hotel on Old Trafford's doorstepAll the staff were helpful and friendly, especially the lad in the bar. Might be an idea to get some tins in though as the bill for two drinks was upwards of £8.

my hotel experiencehotel was great looking. tried to order food at hotel bar. the menu looked very nice, but unfortunately the bar 'wasnt serving' that day, inspite of saying 'every day' on the menu.i emailed the hotel previous to our stay and it was confirmed that we could have a late check out at 12pm. (email proof if needed)but at 11.15am the next day we got a call to our room to inform us that our check out time was 11am??!think more communication and knowledge is needed for staff.

Great shower experienceThere was no warm water left in the shower after my friend finished he´s shower. So I had to use electric kettle to warm up water. Then I poured water to bath. It took me about 45min to have a decent amount of water to have a bath. It was quite hilarious situation ;)

Me and my friend stayed for a night out in manchester. Could do with a makeover!!!Paid £50 per room. Staff Helpful - requested an Iron and Ice Bucket.- no problem came within 15mins. Room was roomy enough, just very outdated. But clean enough. Breakfast was extra at £6 each- included cooked breakfast, toast, cereal, tea and coffee- Not much else though. Would stay again if city center hotels not available.

My stay in Trafford HallI had booked the hotel for my son and I as we were going to see Tina Turner that evening. When we arrived at the hotel the hotel the reception staff were very helpfull, freindly and polite. The room was good for the price paid, had everything it said it would, was nice and tidy, clean with plenty of tea & coffee. We paid a little extra to include breakfast and this was well worth the money, all freshly cooked and plenty of it and ate well. Would certainly stay again if going to another gig or event in the city.
