Timbavati River Lodge Hoedspruit

The lodge offers Big 5 safari Game Drives in the early morning and evening to ensure game viewing when the animals are most active. Nocturnal animals, including the big cats are regular sightings at night.

Currently there are over 40 mammal species in the Timbavati including the Big 5 of Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Buffalo and Elephant as well as 360 species of bird life. Bush walks are also offered but restricted to those over 12 years old.

Tucked away on Simbavati Private Game Reserve, part of the Greater Kruger National Park, this lodge is ideal for those hoping to experience authentic African wilderness first-hand.

Offering distinct game viewing opportunities, Simbavati River Lodge places emphasis on relaxation. Start the day with an organized game drive or bush walk. Afterwards, you can enjoy breakfast on the wooden deck while marveling at views of the nearby Nhlaralumi River.

All guest unites are comfortably furnished, with most featuring typical thatched roofing. Choose from either 2-Bedroom Family suites or luxury Safari Tents and relax on your private wooden deck overlooking the River. In the evening, you can sit around the campfire in the open-air boma and sample African cuisine prepared on the braai.

Simbavati River Lodge daily evening game drives to ensure game viewing when the animals are most active. Game drives are conducted by experienced rangers and Shangaan trackers in open 4X4 vehicles, with excellent photographic opportunities. If you are lucky, you can spot one of the reserve's white lions.
