Good location, rates resonable for city centre though room only

Very polite, professional service. I stayed in a recently upgraded room which was very adequate. Only disappointed was the very poor quality of food received via room service although breakfast was better but pricey at £12.95.Location is very central to Sauchiehall Street, Buchanan Galleries and Queens Street Station.

Stayed here on business, and was very happy. I just had a stardard room and it was fantastic. So would I stay here again? Yes and it will more than likely be at the top of the list to check for availability.

The room I stayed in was in need of an overhaul. The heating was broken, the hair drier broken and the TV casing broken. Not really 4 star.

On arrival, booked into hotel at 7pm and given keys to a "delux" double bed room. On arrival at room, were told by staff who were in the room that the room was filthy and required to be cleaned. We were advised to return to reception. We were then given keys to a large, depressing, twin bedded, disabled room which did not make our stay at the hotel enjoyable.

Have stayed here many times before and pleased to see that the hotel rooms are being upgraded. This is long overdue but the result is outstanding.

Have stayed at the Thistle hotel in Glasgow on frequent occasions. Have always found it very clean, lovely staff & no complaints whatsoever! Fantastic value for money!

The room was a little smaller then I would have expected, but apart from that, the hotel was good, the swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna were lovely and all included in the price which was nice. I only stayed for one night however and did not try any of the food. The only real complaint is that they pushed two single beds together and said it was a double! Which annoyed me a bit.

Delighted to meet such friendly hotel staff who made booking in a pleasure and not the usual hassle we have often experienced. We arrived on an early flight and were allowed to check in straight away which was welcomed as we had been up since 5.30 am. We opted for an exec.double for more space and it was very good it had all we required except the advertised bathrobe etc but to be fair we probably would have got them if we had phoned housekeeping. We did ask at bar for ice and glasses and nothing was too much trouble. This is my second visit to this hotel and I am quite fussy about where I stay but would return .The central location is another plus but overall I was impressed with the lovely staff it really makes such a difference, well done to you all.

When I booked into this hotel I wa asked if I wanted a wake up call or a paper in the morning. Pity they forgot to mention there was a risk of not having hot water to wash or shower in the morning as they were having a refurbishment. The water was cold and I had to shower under a stream of freezing water. As I booked out they told me there was nothing they could do about it as they were undergoing a refurbishment. I asked for a discount as compensation.I thought this quite reasonable a one would expect hot water in a £110 a night room only rate? The duty manager appeared and said I could send in a form! but there was noting he could do. I stood my grond and he kindly gave me a 20% discount. Sadly as he finalised my bill the guests next to me booking out were complaining also but again told there was nothing they could do! Pity they did not take the customer service to a level which may have persuaded guests to return to the Thistle brand......sorry Thistle but you will not have my custom again.

If you are booking the Thistle please please remember to book an upgraded refurbished room as both rooms I received were very grubby (I had to move room as the first one was so bad having booked an "executive" room) due to not being refurbished and no air con , and beleive me you need it!!

Hotel was nice and clean. The rooms were very nice.Buffet Breakfast was disappointing. Certain food was not hot.The staff were struggling to cope with the large numbers requiring their breakfast.e.g. I was given a table for breakfast which was not ready and I had to ask twice for a fork.

a great stay very friendly and the refurbishment is perfect, good food in a small bar and a great idea for the car park underneath but a wee bit tight and difficult to find although the attendants are inch perfect. All in all well worth a try and pretty central

I had booked a King room but they were overbooked when I arrived so I was told I'd be upgraded to the "8th floor". It sounded good so I agreed to that and found myself in a standard room which had been redecorated (very dark and depressing design for the limited amount of natural daylight available IMO). There was no mirror in the bedroom area! The bed was uncomfortable so I complained the next morning and was refunded £10 on the nightly rate (for being effectively downgraded) for that first night and was moved to an exec room for the second night which was superb. Well located hotel with good facilities but I personally found the refurb design unsuitable for the smaller sized rooms - perhaps large mirrors could be fixed to the black wardrobe doors to brighten the place.

We were expecting the executive room to provide slippers and robes as outlined on the booking and unfortunately we did not receive one of the newly upgraded rooms. We couldnt be bothered trying to obtain a room change after a long drive. The room we stayed in had a dated bathroom with paint peeling from the cornices and was not up to my expectation of 4 star accomodation. The "free WI FI "is not actually free as had to purchase an access card. Did'nt try food as plenty of eating places locally.Parking at the hotel is excellent and hassle free and leisure facilities looked good, although we did not use due to good weather.

The hotel over charged me for my room, when I checked in, I was very tired and didn't notice that I was charged £180 not the £80 as confirmed by LateRooms.com when I complained on check out, I was told to write in as no one in the hotel could really do anything to help me! I have e-mailed, but as yet am still awaiting a response.

This hotel is easy to find, car parking a bonus. Renovations going on but did not interfere with our stay. Rooms excellent, staff very welcoming and friendly. Lovely pool and gym. Would have no hesitation in recommending it.
