wOULD NOT RECCOMEND AT ALL, ROOMS SMALL, BEDS NOT A DOUBLE, DIRTY CARPETS AND MIRRORS, IN GENERAL VERY SHABBY...STAFF RUDE AND UNHELPFUL, IN GENERAL A VERY POOR EXPERIENCE

Absolutely Faultless... A fantastic Hotel & Very Friendly... Very quiet when we arrived & no problems at all parking.. Cost almost £20 for 2 days stay in the NCP which was cheaper than many other hotels in the city.. Breakfast Great and got it for £6.00 each making it superb value for money... Easy walk to Bull Ring and Millennium Point. Would recommend for a weekend break

In the city centre by St Chad's catherdral. Particularly good location if you're going to St Paul's Square & not too far from Broad Street & the main shopping areas.

The hotel was fine although fairly expensive for what you got. No breakfast included, our bedroom overlooked a busy road and the room was not as clean as it could have been. Although the room was nice with a sizeable bathroom with a bath. The hotel is close to the city centre (about 10 mins walk) although personally I wouldn't have wanted to walk around the area immediately near the hotel alone late at night. I would stay here again.

We booked a double/twin room, when we arrived the bed was a very small double, more like a 3/4 size of a standard double which didnt allow for a very good nights rest.

Thistle BirminghamI won't be going back! Whilst the value for money was fair, I had a tatty, nosiy and cramped room. The hotel is tired and has seen better days. On the positive side, the staff were very helpful and friendly

Thursday 11th June 2009The hotel was lovely as were the staff, however the rooms would benefit from double glazing as the surrounding traffic and bin collecting during the night and ealy hours of the morning make it very difficult to get a decent nights sleep.

DissappointingThe room that was booked was a double but was as small as a single. Only 1 towel, cup and pillow in the room, told reception and upon our return a towel and pillow was left on the bed. The feel of the hotel was very dated and tired.

Good front desk, quite close to the city centre, breakfast slightly disasterous.Excellent front desk, very helpful. On a business trip, I was able to drop my bags before the 2pm check-in and return later. They booked me local taxis no problem.Wake up call was reliable.The hotel is not really walkable from the main city centre pubs, etc. Taxi was about £5 each way.Unfortunatley the breakfast was terrible. I arrived at 9.10am, breakfast finishes at 9.30am, so the staff were unimpressed at my arrival. No offer of a table, no offer for tea/coffee, the buffet breakfast was dry under the heatlamps, having been sat for some time.Cereal had to make do.It sufficed for a work trip, but I wouldn't have been happy spending my own money here.

Birmingham city Thistle HotelI found the hotel well placed for expolring the city which was just a short walk away. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. My single room was fairly small but not overly so and had everything needed. Staff were polite and helpful. I ate breakfast at the hotel which was usual hotel fare full english or continental. Overall I think the room was good value. It was quiet and restful spotlessly clean and as I had come to the city using the railway rather than driving I found that I was just a short walk from all the major shops. The museum and gallery were slightly further but still walkable with ease.I had an excellent weekend at the Thistle and would use it again.

Thistle BirminghamThis hotel is not very well appointed. We had 2 upgrades due to quality of rooms and the suite we were placed in had no hot water, heating, safe didnt work and the overall facilities were poor. I expected better from a hotel in the Thistle chain.To find the place was also very difficult with a real lack of signage to assist.The location (although stating was in the heart of Birmingham) was remote if you wanted to walk to other pubs / restaurants.I will not be staying here again !

Generally good but reastaurant was overpricedGenerally good but reastaurant was overpriced. Room was fine and clean and the bed comfortable. The main lifts in the hotel were slow and one was continually out of order.

Excellent value, got the room for the same price as Etap but much nicer room. Clean, a tv that works, good shower, tea & coffee. Breakfast was good value but had to buy for £6.50 extra. Will use again if it comes in at that price.
